    Zero weight Loss

FYI, I have had many fills and I can eat anything I want to. I do make good choices tho and eat healthy (mostly) filling foods. It WILL help you stay full longer... eventually.

    Zero weight Loss

Easy Babydoll! Everyone gets there in their own time. I have had (lost count) 7 or 8 fills so far. Last one this week. Be easy on yourself. Nothing happens overnight. Keep going back to your surgeon. Talk with your Nut. Good Luck

    Lap-Band Sucks

To each, their own. This is a very personal journey! Good luck to you, which ever you choose!
  4. You may not feel "banded" for several months. Sorry. I had my surgery 2 8 11 I have only recently felt, not restriction, rather I am able to feel....not hungry for several hours between meals. I am not craving anything between meals. Please know that you may never feel "restriction" whatever that means. Here is what to look for. Being able to put a "normal" (small) amount of food on your plate, eat that and feel satisfied. You may be able to eat more but you dont "need" to. At some point you will be able to not be hungry for 4 to 5 hours between meals. Some of the talk about the lapband is misleading and people ( I ) was looking for a "feeling" that wasn't happening for me. When I realized that instead, I was feeling fuller longer and losing weight and still able to eat real food, I was there. I am losing slowly and steadly, It isn't magic and it isn't fast. Be patient and learn to love yourself a little. The band does work! Me
  5. pfft. I had my surgery done in feb 2011 and I have had MANY fills. If I only ate 3 bites I would be starving......Try to put that out of your head. What I eat now probably looks more like "normal" portion sizes. When I am done with what I put on my plate....(I only place on my plate what I think is a normal portion). I am satisfied, I could eat more, I just dont need to. I make sure I get a good serving of a lean protein and I always have veggies with dinner. I try very hard not to snack, If I have to have something I use a pure protien bar or a apple, something like that. I think we have to be realistic, starving ourselves is not the answer. Listen to your body, the band will not prevent you from putting more food in your body. Try portioning out your food, eat slowly. then time how long you can wait until your really hungry. That is the only way I could do it. The band did not stop me from eating, but allowed me to fill full for several hours in between meals. I find that if I am not careful, I think about food all day......hmmm part of my addiction maybe ???? I hope that helps a little. I was going crazy thinking that at some point I could eat a coupe of bites and whooo cant eat no more....not this girl. But I am losing weight and that my friend is what I did all this for. : ) Good Luck!
  6. It is very normal. Sip, Sip, Sip those fluids. Avoid Ice cold liquids. walk, walk walk..............this too will pass : )
  7. I eat all veggies and am losing, I think surgeons do try to steer us away from high carb foods as they can trigger binging. Everything in moderation...
  8. I have the hardest time at night, esp when hubby snacks. I make sure that I have something to nibble on that wont make be binge. Like 1 skinny cow ice cream or half salt white popcorn. a small amount of triscuts with low fat cheese. I am not really hungry, Just looking to munch on something. the band will NOT stop you from eating, you still have to stop you........I ask myself when I get the munchies at night "am I really hungry or do I just want to eat" It is almost always, I just want to eat.....

    Eating Poll

I eat 3 regular meals a day Breakfast is typically a bowl of mixed fiber one cereals with a sliced banana and skim lunch is typically chicken or tuna salad with or a lettuce salad with chicken or beef strips a "normal" dinner steak, chicken, fish just a smaller protion bedtime snack....I Love sugar free pudding with redi whip or a skinny cow ice cream. I exercise 30 minutes every day
  10. Just feeling frustrated. I had my surgery in Feb.2011 and still not in the "zone". I have had several fills and still rarely feel restriction. If I could just feel and stay full Maybe things would go a little faster. If just relying on myself to stop eating was enough I would not have had to have the surgery. I feel kinda whiney but it just seems that by now it would really start kicking in, the band I mean....
  11. I got a .25 ml fill today. Surgeon asked why I only lost 1.5 pounds over the last month.I did not have a good reason for him..... I exercise 30 minutes every day. My main problem is with the evening snacking. I dont eat any "unhealthy" food at all. But I def have been having problems with satiety in the evening. Well, hopefully todays fill will help in the lonnnng fight loss.
  12. I had one, I was pretty sure they were trying to kill me : ). I had a treadmill cardiac stress test. Hopefully the drug induced one is easier. Once was enough thank yo very much.
  13. I like the Centrum, The taste is fine and the vitamin content is what I want. They are not all created equal : )

    1/2 a cup

Here is the real trick. Eat your meal, are you full for 4 to 5 hours after? losing weight slowly each week? Exercise daily? No snacking........If you are doing all of this you are prob at your "sweet spot" I can def eat more than half a cup, but I watch what I put in my mouth. And my self talk is "am I satisfied?" If so, I stop : ) You'll get there, it takes time....good luck
  15. Hardees has a very tasty low carb burger. The lettuce is the "bread"............FYI napkins, it can be messy! : )
  16. sip sip sip, try some instant dissolving claritin or liquid benadryl this may help with inflammation. also try warm or room temp liquids.
  17. This is a really good forum to gather information from. One of the main things I have learned is that the band does not stop me from eating (well, unless I get stuck) I still have to put less food on my plate, and ask myself all the time....am I full now? You really have to learn to live with your body and really think about how you feel. I still think I am hungry sometimes and it has only been 2 hours since I ate, If I get busy and distract myself, I can easily wait 4 to 5 hours between meals. I eat a pretty regular size portion and I kept waiting and getting filled thinking I was going to be so full after like, 5 bites. That has not happened for me. I am just getting to where I have stopped all snacking (evenings were the hardest) and just focus on 3 meals total, 1 protein shake and I exercise every day. I am not for sure just how much the band has helped me or is it my own self talk????? It is def. a journey and I continue : )
  18. I think that is about right. I have to write it all down or I will go over....come one first fill. I am a hungry girl : )
  19. Yes, Yes, Yes! You are going to feel better!!! OMG I remember thinking wth have I done to myself. I hurt and I was nauseous and felt awful. 2 to2 1/2 weeks later and I was feeling oh so much better. I was banded on 2 8 11 and now, I feel great! (hungry) but will get my first fill in 2 weeks. I can work out......Just please know that you will feel like you again soon! (())

  22. Your gonna have to throw away the ice cream. Make a good protein shake add some splenda to cover your sweet tooth. Freeze it. You can have your treat and still be on the plan! : )
  23. I have not had my first fill yet so be gentle with me b-2 eggs with frozen stirfry veggies salsa and fat free cheese s-veggie juice l- 2 black bean burgers on a salad with fat free dressing d-1 slice of bread with healthy choice p-nut butter sandwich s-sugar free pudding I could def still eat, but I am not hungry so I am trying very hard to stay out of the kitchen. First fill is in 2.5 weeks, and not a moment to soon! : )
  24. Well, I must be healing well. I can eat anything, really, Anything! I am watching what I eat, but man....it is tough waiting until that first fill. I have 3 weeks to go and control isnt one of my strong points .............hence the surgery. any helpful hint out there???

    In need of a pick-me-up!

clean out your kitchen and get rid of anything you should'nt be eating. Make sure you have an assortment of easy to grab items to eat that are on your diet. When I am getting a craving I try to distract myself by doing something and that seems to help. I was banded on 2 8 11. If anyone wants to be a "diet buddy" I could use some support as well. I have been overweight for years and it took me a long long time to have this surgery. I am praying it helps!
