  1. yeah it's funny, I tracked my food the last 3 days, my calories are under 1000, I'm going to try to to get it up to 1200 at least a few days a week, just to mix things up. like 1200 and then a couple days at like 800 and the other 3 1000 which is what i am averaging. But I was surprised, I thought if I tracked I would see that something I was doing was really jacking my calories up. But I believe you can do too small on food - plus tooo much the same too. your body settles in and defends it's fat. still stuck
  2. OMG Tiffany, that is so awesome, that doesn''t sound like much of a yoyo. You are rocking it. All of you are. I am still stuck at 60lbs loss. started 296. I've been here now for 2 months. ugg. I have an appt for a fill but not for 2 weeks, and I go on vacation between now and then. I am feeling like the bottom of the heap with weight loss here. at least I have some inspiration. Funny a few months ago I felt like I was at the top. I need to snap out of it. starting today I am tracking everything that goes in my mouth. I did the 5 day text thing, it did tighten me up a bit, but now I feel that I'm hungry all the time. Tiffany how much do you have in your band now? I also feel like I have more in my band then any of you awesome losers. Makes me nervous that I'm on the wrong track. I wonder what Ms Joany is up to, If her infection and all that cleared up. I hope she is alright. Lisa
  3. welp, day 3, solid food- fish and soft protein today. it's interesting, this is the first Monday that I got on the scale that I was 1 down from the wed. before. My pattern for like 3 weeks was 240 on Wed. then 242 by Sunday back to 240 by Wed. this week I weighed myself on Monday morning and was 239. - so finally took something off. and today I'm 238. so going in the right direction. this has been my pattern all along- yo yo for a while then shed some. so anyway about the 5 day test. I hate the liquids, i tseems very similar to what you'd do for a fill. The liquid phase I feel like I take in more calories then if I were eating. funny. we'll see how the solids do me, if I feel a bit tighter, I had a little oatmeal with a protein shake for breakfast. not very solid. anyway that's what I have to report so far.
  4. ok got the stuff for my 5 day test. starting tomorrow.
  5. papoose, that is awesome, exercise will just make it better, including walking- just move your body like 4 times a week at least for 30 minutes. so I am wondering how many cc's folks have, and how their hunger is and lbs lost and diet start date. I have 8 ccs most of the time my hunger is good, but this week there is more hunger, I'm gonna try the pouch test first. I've lost 60 lbs I started dieting Sept 1 2010 surgery Sept 27. I may only 7.5- one time I was checked and I was .5 less then I thought I had.
  6. I like the idea of this for a bit of protien. I don't use injury but I have another brand. 9. Chris that is so great!!! I always fear slipping, it's good to hear a good story about it. Pooky, yes imagine losing that much weight before the surgery, it is great. I don't know what the 5 day pouch test is, you'll have to give a link or something. Maybe if you were too tight you weren't getting enough calories. If my calories, and protien is too low I stop losing and that's it, my body thinks it's holding on for dear life. a few sips at dinner shouldn't matter about weight loss. My idea of why not to do that- well except I am more likely to PB if I do. is that it washes the food through quicker and you feel hunger sooner. The big idea is to be able to eat the smaller portions and not feel starving before your next meal. I often have a snack in between- something with Protein like yogurt, Jerky, cheese stick. or something with Fiber like an apple. or if I'm feeling really crazy a sugar free fudge cicle. If you are following the rules does that mean your calories are like 900-1200 if you are real active some I've met do 1400. I know this level of tracking is a pain, use my fit day on line, it's easier. but anyway that can help you see what's going on. You won't have to do it forever, and you'll learn a lot. plus you can see your break down or carbs, protein and fat. I can say that the standard breakdown that is like 40-50% Carbs, 25-35% protein, 20-30% fat. Under 2500 mg of sodium and over 25 grams of fiber is not so good for me and I do not lose weight no matter what with this ratio. I find more luck when I strive for something like 50% protein, 25% fats, 25% complex only carbs daily - although I fall down on it a lot, especially the complex carbs only part. But I find if my protein is higher then my carbs the weight comes of more readily. But this is all individualized, you have other issues going on too with your thyroid. You can't know what you need to tweek unless you count for a little while. My fit day is free. Spark people is also got a free counter- and a free recipe calculator if you cook a lot. Are you taking good Vitamins. Do you feel really hungry between meals? Of course Water and exercise is important too. Hopefully if your band was too tight things will work better now. If you were pbing all the time it wasn't right for sure. It'll come, just takes some tweaking.
  10. wow moni, that is awesome, onderland, holy cow. funny I've been down on myself for only doing a mile, so I'm glad to hear that's what you are doing because I think of you as an inspiration.
  11. so do tell, at 175 what size are you. I just bought my first size 18, i started at 24
  12. no more jellybelly, wow that is a bummer about feeling hunger all the time, I wonder if your protien is high enough - and your fiber too, calories too. especially if you are excercising, maybe make sure you have some good solid protien after a work out, like jerky, or boiled egg or cheese, and have a protien and or fiber snack between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner
  13. Oh Zen, you are so close to your goal, you are an inspiration. I have had several plateaus, of course it's harder the closer you get to your goal. I bet you look great.
  14. HI all, hope all is well, finally got down 60 lbs, woo hoo I wanted to share this video, long but worth it
  15. WOW, WHERE IS EVERYONE! How are you guys doing? man I was on a like 6 week no loss, but now i'm down 6 lbs in 2 weeks, finally- so 6 lbs lost in 8 weeks, but those 6 weeks were hellish- I hate the stalls. but am excited about the loss. that is the trick with me, to keep the faith and not freak out or give up. it's been my struggle my whole life.
  16. I"ve heard this before, but I don't see it, it is by the other yogurts- what color is the package?
  17. wow everyone so great to see everyone- Miss Joany, I've missed you, sorry to hear about your health trouble. Wow you are doing great on the excercise and weight loss front though, I'm glad you are feeling better now
  18. Oh yes I too eat all of that, and jerky, jerky and lowfat cheese stick is my snack, since I decided yougurt had too many carbs- genrally my meals are more like a cup, 4 oz protein, 1/4 cup green vegies 1/4 cup starch or some kind of whole grain really. lunches, 3-4 oz turkey or chicken 2 tbl cottage cheese and about 3/4 cup of raw veggis- also 2 100 cal snacks. breakfast an egg and half piece toast, and half grapefruit often too. this is a typical work day, weekends vary more. but I can't imagine get all the nutrients with 1/2 cup of food also my nutritionist says to expect to lose 50 lbs a year. so all of you are practically there, way ahead of schedule I might add
  19. Lettuce, why no lettuce, I eat lettuce and many other raw greens daily, it's great, never felt stuck from it?
  20. 6months, 24-28 weeks, you've lost more then 1 lb per week, I do believe there are many on this thread that have lost less then 40 lbs. I feel like the higher end losers are at 60-65 lbs one gal is higher but she was on a strict diet long long before September, like 6 months or something, so she's been at it a long time. 1 lb average per week even is great! don't feel like a failure, repeat you are awesome, and you are doing a great job, nothing wrong with trying new things, but don't get discouraged, and just making the move to work on this, and it is all real work, is great.
  21. My gosh cals, 46 lbs lost is great. Remember an average of 2lbs a week is great, but it sounds like you lost a lot at first and then slowed down. that is probably your body adapting. Don't compare yourself with people that have lost 95 lbs since Sept, that is a lot, I have't seen anyone on this forum that's lost that much, - that is not the norm at all. Actually there is no norm, all of our bodies are so different. I'm just saying this so you know that you are doing great. Wow a 16 holy smokes, I have recently hit the 50lb mark, but I haven't tried on clothes yet, too chicken, I did buy a belt, but none of my bigger sizes are falling off, that was my marker. I would faint if I were even an 18. You rock girl. Remember your measurements are just as important as lbs. that being said, excercise might really help you get things going again. walking is a great place to start- just moving your body and getting your heart up - start our for 15 mins and try to get to 30 mins- try 4-5 days a week. you can always increase speed for more heart rate. there is a cool program called couch to 5 k that is a neat 30 mins 3x's per week where it's periods of walk, jog and run- you decide how fast those things are. having a back issues, depending on what you have available, swimming is great to have low pressure on your back, laps are good, or even Water aerobics, or if you want a class something like pelotes is good, or even yoga, the main thing is try to move your body some every day - and get your heart rate up for at least 15 mins- meaning a little sweat and breathing heavy. I do treadmill, but now that the weather is breaking I might go outside to walk, walking is great.
  22. so excited, I met my mini goal, 50 lb loss by March 10- and I did it! horah, I was stuck all through the holidays, but for the last month and a half I've been actually averaging 2 lbs a week. I hope it keeps up.
  23. hmm, that is preplexing, if you are on the computer much, try the free online food counter, it's neat cause it gives a breakdown of nutrients etc. I give some links above in an answer to pooky. Sounds like your exercising that is great! does your Doc fill you with flouro, or just blind? If not flouro you might try to find a place that will do a flouro fill- although I've heard bad stories about fill centers usa, but I've had both blind and flouro, I think flouro is probably more accurate, and you can see what is going on, while they are filling you. I do blind fills now cause it's cheaper and closer then the other place I went to. Also, if you know your calories, carbs and protein you will know then if you are perhaps too low. Other things I've heard- use of fiber pills to combat hunger, like maybe 1.5 hours after meal. Really my schedule involves high protein and high fiber snacks between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner- laughing cow cheese, jerkey, a piece of fruit, nuts, yogurt, etc. everyday I do about 100ish calorie snack twice a day. also when I'm hungery I get a lot of help from water. It's also important to make sure you are getting a lot of fiber in your food, that really helps with hunger. But tracking your food is important, after a while you will figure it out, but diligently tracking will give you power. And I've heard people on webinairs atc that really do more like 6- 200 calorie meals- or 5 225 calorie meals, and a 100-125 calorie dessert. - but protein and fiber and carbs and fat all throughout the day. Also, remember the band should be dimming your hunger, but there is a mental component too. Maybe going to over eaters anonymous might help with that. I know I have a lot of psychological hunger. A lot of it for me has happened through my getting in touch with how to nourish myself properly. Part of that came from following a certain diet for a time- I used the instinct diet, but any other low carb diet would work too. I know before my surgery I was made to lose 10% of my weight, that was a difficult time for me, and I learned a lot during it, and what I really learned was how to more committed, that was with no restriction- my diet was 2 lean cuisinse meals, and a protien shake- and the fiber pills and the cromiium piccolate pills, I was so hungry, maybe if following a certain diet doesn't work for you something like this for a time might work. I don't know, I feel your pain, I've had some very discouraging plateaus and the holidays what a nightmare. best of luck. You can do this. We are here for you.
  24. so sorry life saver, I wonder what your current weight is? the lower you are, the lower your BMI the more difficult I think the weight loss is. Are you exercising at all, that's important, try to do something every day, some say 60 mins every day, but that is quite difficult? I do 30 mins 5 days a week. Also drinking alot of water. and track what you eat, and change it all up a bit periodically. Intake can be too low too, your body goes into emergency mode. these are just some ideas. Lisa
  25. wow, I'd say you have that in the bag monica, you guys are all awesome!!!
