I was pretty out of it.. I honestly am not sure I would have been able to drive myself.. I flew and then was picked up... Then taken back to the airport.. How far do you have to drive?

I am so sorry that you have to deal with that. I’m sure your friend doesn't mean to hurt you but friends are the ones that can hurt us the most. I’m sure it will just take her some time to get over her hurt. It sounds like to me she is hurt about her not being able to get the WLS and is focusing her hurt on to you instead of what she is really upset about. I haven't told anyone really that I had the WLS. They just think I am losing weight due to not eating crabs (which is true in a way). My sister warned me before I had WLS that some people wouldn't know how to handle my weight loss and that I might not know how to handle guys seeing my weight loss. I was gone for two weeks so that I wouldn't have to tell that many people about the WLS and so I could recover away from the three young boys I watch. When I got back I hung out with one of my new friends here in GA that just had a baby (BTW she is beautiful just doesn't see it). She told me she was trying to be happy for me and losing weight but she was jealous. I am hoping she will work though her issues. I have tried calling to see if she wants to hang out again but for the past week or two she has just kept blowing me off. I understand that I have always been the bigger friend but is that really the only reason they kept me around?

I'm so happy that today my life is going to change for ever. We are driving to the airport right now and I'll have my super sleeve by this after noon!! We are flying to El Paso and then getting picked to been driven to Mexico.. From what I was told I will have wifi so I should be able to post while I'm there. No this is my first major surgery.

I took your advice and didn't let myself take one nap and I feel good. I was able to drink all though the day without getting sick. When I went to Mexico I couldnt keep anything down until the morning I left. I think my main issue was I forgot my gas-x strips and those have been my life saver. Instead of taking pain meds I would use a strip and take a walk. It was amazing how much of a difference if made. My sister says I looked dead the first few days. My eyes change to yellow when I sick so Im so I didn't look the best lol.. I'm still on Clear liquids until Monday then I can start to have some full liquids. What can I drink that is clear and has protien?

I turned 23 on May 12th and I got super sleeve July 12th.

I'm so glad to hear you are doing well. I understand the food issues now that I feel better today. Today I went to the store with my sister and I do feel better. I woke up at 8 am this morning and it is 1 pm so I'm doing pretty good. Thanks for the advice since I do need to be walking more.

Sorry it has been so long. I have pretty much woke up long enough to take my meds, try to drink something, walk as much as I can, use the bathroom, then I go back to sleep. I am unsure why but I had alot of scar tissue making my one hour surgery last over two hours. He said that since he did so much moving around in the surgery it will take me longer than most to recover. I am slowing getting better though. I made myself drink some warm chicken broth last night and it felt pretty good. They told me that it will be tight when I first wake up and anything warm will help. I'm not jumping back as fast as I hoped but each day gets better and better. I take my pain meds like clock work since I know from working at the hospital it is never good to wait to take them until you are really hurting since it is hard to get the pain under control. I'm just glad that I am at my sisters where I don't have to watch the boys, clean, or anything. I honestly am tired after a short walk. How is everyone else doing?

My sister is going with me TOMORROW to Star Medica in Juarez Mexico for Dr. Jose Rodriguez and she is worried about it being a bad area to go. I know that there are people on here that have gone in the last few weeks so I hoping to get reassured from them that everything is going to be fine. Is there any advice you could give me?

You are very right! I think it is just the last minute "What ifs" lol.. I'm so happy to finally have this done. My sister that is going with me has the lap band and has been very helpful on letting me know what to expect. I am so glad to all of you to help me also! Have a wonderful day! I know i will..

Well we are getting picked up at the El Paso, TX airport and then taken right to the hospital. We will not be staying at a hotel at all. The only thing I think I'll have to leave the hospital for is the meds. So hopefully we won't have any issues! That is scary!! Thank you for letting me know since we were thinking about shopping a little if there was time.
