Are you using Gas-X strips?
-
I had a month where I only lost 4 or 5 lbs and it really got me down. Don't worry about it. The next month I started losing the weight again. I had my super sleeve in July and it is five months later. I am now 132 lbs and a size 6. I can get into a size 4 but it is still a little tight. The scale was driving me crazy so I started weighing once a week instead of every day. It made me loss more since I was less stressed.

SO as of this week I have go from a size 20 high to a size 5/6!! The last time I got this butt into a size 6 I was 14 years old! GET THIS THOUGH I can get a size 4 on, it just looks tight BUT I haven't got a size 4 over my thighs since I was 12!! I AM SO PUMPED!! On the weight side of things I’m have gone from around 210 high to now I am an amazing 132!! I didn't even know I could get in the 130's and now I’m starting to get close to the 120’s.

Weight loss is awesome for the jeans
mellifrits replied to mellifrits's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
I'm sorry but I don't really have a blog but I did post at times. I main thing that I do different from others is my first four or five months I didn't eat bread or Pasta. I get full so fast as it is and pasta/bread was not what I wanted to get full off of. I would rather eat meat and vegs. Since I hit goal I have added bread and pasta back to my diet but it is limited. I think that is a big factor of why I lost the weight so fast but I never could have done it without my sleeve. -

I don't know why people would have issues. I some times have to make myself eat even when I am not hungry and when I do eat I can't eat very much. It is the best thing I ever did for myself. I was asked to be put on BeLiteWeight web page though so I guess I am doing pretty well. -
I had a month stall and I started working out about 20 minutes three times a week and the weight started coming off again. I have gone from my high of 210 lbs size 20 and now I'm 132 lbs size 4/6.. I promise my super sleeve was worth it!!! So hang in there.. PS Drink as much Water as you can

Sorry it has been so long. I’m really working hard at getting out of the house more and socializing more so in return I haven't been getting online as much. BUT I really miss you guys. I need to get on here more so I have people to talk to that understand me better. My WLS is still a secret to most people and even if people know about the WLS they don’t really understand. Okay but side note.. Anyone that has hit their goal weight having some head issues with gaining the weight back. I have a Super Sleeve (pretty much the same as a VSG they just don’t take out the extra part of my stomach instead they fold it over) so of course we eat next to nothing but now I have it in my head that I’m starting to eat too much. I’m a little scared that I’m going to go from over eating disorder to under eating disorder. It started a few days before Christmas when I got sick and couldn’t eat for a few days. Now I have a bit of a fear of food. Maybe I’m just being silly. It is my time of the month and I tend to worry more and gain a bit of weight. Advise??

Weight loss is great for the jeans
mellifrits replied to mellifrits's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I agree that it is a coping mechanism since I felt hopeless. I didn't think there was anything I could do to change my life. Now I know I can and I guess I want to see how far I can change it. I have never had someone tell me I'm getting too thin better and to be honest something in my head likes it. I don't want all my bones to show but I never thought it possible to be an avg weight let alone a low avg. It is still healthy for me to be 120 and think all alone that was my dream so 120 is going to be my last goal and the goal I want to keep. -

When you lose the weight fast like we do you will get the "don't lose anymore weight" alot. Sometimes they can't imagine you being smaller or sometimes they are jealous or sometimes they are just trying to say you look great and that is how they express it. Either way keep going girl!! You are going to love it!

NSV - need to get back on track

Becareful about drinking too much when you eat. It takes you longer to get the full feeling. I'm learning if I limit how much I drink when I eat I eat less and feel better. -

If you pick one thing; one thing at all it is Gas-X strips!! They are amazing! I used them as a pain pill almost! When the gas pain got too much I would take one an the gas would come right off and the pain would go down. Also a heating pad is wonderful! -
Should I tell my dad??
mellifrits replied to ShaliseSleeved@18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do the same as you with keeping my WLS a secret. When I got my sleeve I was a live in Nanny for my bestfriend and I made the choice to also keep her in the dark. She is like your Dad in the aspect of trying to keep control in putting you down. She said some of the same things to me BUT I knew if I told her the truth nothing would change. She would still put me down just for a different reason. Plus she would tell EVERYONE about my WLS and I do not want that at all! I am 23 years old and I don't want people I don't trust knowing my secrets. What do you really think will change if you tell him? I'm sure it will be the same as he treated your mother. -

When your prego you have weight in different areas of your body that might effect your pant size. I was wearing a size 10 when I was 145ish. I think 125 for me sounds like a good goal so I'm sure you'll be fine but I would set three different goals cuz it is so empowering when you hit those goals!! -

Can you post me the link? Is it just called Maintenacne? -
Here is a letter I just wrote someone and I thought it might be helpful to others: I am an open book for you and any questions you have. I was lucky with the money side of it since I charged it to a credit card that was interest free for a year and now I have been working on paying it off. So I can’t give you any advice in that area. As for a SCAM I had the same worries but everything turned out fine. I even missed my flight that morning and just called where they told me to call and it was no problem at all. The guy was there to pick me up just like he said he would be. We had to stop at the Mexican line and explain why we were going to Mexico. I didn't know I would have to explain in detail so just be ready to say what hospital and what Doctor you are going to see. They will ask how to plan to pay since they don’t like the idea of you taking large amounts of money with you. Since I had a money order there were no issues. Once I got into Mexico I did have some fear since as we all know Mexico is nothing like the USA. They had just had some flooding so it was pretty dirty looking. BUT the hospital was amazing. I have worked in a couple hospitals and this hospital was more like a resort. It was SO BEAUTIFUL!! It was clean, nice, and everyone was so nice to me. There was a few times at night when someone didn't speak English but I just used my paper they gave me and pointed at what I want. There were no problems at all. On the pain side of the things your pain will come from gas more than anything. You won’t feel like walking but do it anyways. The more you walk the better you will feel. Gas-X is your best friend!! I used them as a pain pill. I was wake up and almost be puking gas so I would use one and it helped a ton. Also a heating pad is amazing too! My heating pad helped a ton when it came to sleeping. But again the main thing is to get off your butt and walk! If you don’t, the pain will be much worse than it has to be. On the flight home it will be a little hard since you will be weak but not impossible. When you get to your flight ask to board first. You don’t want anyone rushing or pushing you. Make sure to take a pain pill before you get on your flight and bring Gas-X too. If you have the time in between your flights then walk since it will help with pain BUT if you are short on time don’t try to rush. Ask someone to drive you. I just explain that I had just had surgery and everyone was very kind to me. My sister was with me when I was in Mexico but honestly you should be fine on your own. It was nice to have her since she would wake me up every few hours to make me walk but as long as you are able to make yourself do that on your own you should be fine. Make sure to only pack one bag (you won’t even need that much anyways) that has wheels. I promise you won’t feel like carrying anything. On after care I haven't had any yet since I don’t have insurance but I plan to get my yearly done next month. I did have an issue where I didn't know we can’t eat fresh vegetables and was very constipated; to the point that I had a temp and was in a ton of pain. The good thing was they got a hold of my Dr. in Mexico and he let me know what was going on and how to deal with it. So your Dr. in Mexico is on hand if you need him for any reason. I hope that helped... If there is anything else I could help you with please let me know.
