had revision on 7/31/2015
hubbark1 replied to terrydumont46's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
OMG are we the same person?? Lol. I was banded in 2010 again in 2013 and revised to bypass 7/31. I am having no issues either and am nervous. I have even eaten eggs already with no problems. I am hoping because I had sooooo many issues with the band reflux sticking always hungry could never eat without vomiting it up..... This just works better for me. -
Anyone Have RNY Weighing 225 or Less?
hubbark1 replied to ebonymc's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The day of surgery (7/31) weighed 207.5. I came home the next day weighing 214. (That was a bummer). This morning I weighed 206.5. -
I am hoping it does not happen as often as it did with the band. It has only been 3 days but I definitely feel the difference. With the band everything got stuck and started backing up. I was always hungry because I could never really eat a proper meal without getting sick.

Ok. Sounds like what I experienced with the band. Yes it sucks!

I had two bands. The first caused a hernia and the port hurt a lot. I just had my second one removed and converted to a bypass. I had another hernia horrible GERD lots of port pain. My doc said he has beef removing a lot of bands for the same reason.

I am confused. What is frothing/fomies? I know about dumping but not the other. I am a band to bypass revision so I am extremely familiar with things getting stuck and having esophagus pain for hours until you vomit. Is that what you are referring to?

Did you experience a slow weight loss rate?

I am having a band to bypass revision tomorrow. I chose bypass over sleeve because it is a non restrictive procedure and I had serious issues with reflux due to the band. Because of that my doc recommended bypass rather than the sleeve. -
Marika will do. My surgery is Thursday. I am getting nervous now.
-
Are you packing for your surgery tomorrow?

Started my pre-op diet today. My surgery is July 30 and I am a bit (well a lot) nervous. After 2 failed lap band attempts I am concerned about the scar tissue and whether or not the doc will be able to complete the revision to bypass. I am also questioning whether or not I am doing the right thing. I already failed twice, I just don't want to fail again.

How much can I expect to loose during my 2 week pre-op diet? I start it Wednesday.

@@Ligaleagle86 That's so awesome! I hope I have the same success as you. -
Lap band conversion to ?
hubbark1 replied to nurseforlapband's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@@Ligaleagle86 how has your weight loss been? I have heard that most revision people loose weight slower than if they would have gone right into bypass. I only lost about 5 pounds a month with the band. I too had horrible reflux. The kind that would wake you up at night gagging. I HATE this band and cannot wait to remove it. At the same time I am scared that the bypass won't work either. -
@@noura4 what is slower? It took me a month to loose 5 pounds with the band. Is that what I am looking at with the bypass? Are you happy you had the band removed? Did you gain weight once the Fluid was removed from your band? I know a lot of questions.... They are just running out of my head I am whirling.
-
My surgery is July 30. I am nervous and excited. It REALLY hope it works this time. I had the fill removed from my band in March and have gained 25 pounds. I am at the low end of the bmi requirement so I am curious how the weight loss will go.
-
I read somewhere the after band to bypass revision you loose weight slower than you would if you had bypass only. Are any of you finding this true? I am having my second band removed July 30 and converting yo bypass.
-
I had a band revision (actually a new system put in) and a hernia repair on the 15th. Still having a lot of pain from the hernia and the removal of the old port. My last band was placed up too high so I did not have any significant weight loss over the past 2 years. If you are wondering why it took 2 years to figure that out it is because 6 months after I was banded I had a full hysterectomy which we thought was causing issues, then about 8 months after that I had a thyriod ectomy which also created issues. Hopefully we are done removing body parts and can get onto the fat loss ;0)

I am BANNDED!! Here is what my day was like
hubbark1 replied to Tori1983's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on the 29th as well. Certainly was not that easy for me. I felt horrible all day and am just moving round today. I am able to drink and have no problem keeping liquid down. -
Got it. Thank you. Does it automatically update your weight or do I need to redo it each time?

I am getting banded on June 29th. On a side note.. How do I insert tickerfactory?
