Hi All, Susannah the Pina Colada going gret although I must admit I've had a few slips but sticking to it 90% of the time, I have cut out fat & carbs, night time is the worst time for me. How are you feeling now? Meredith - you have done so well, don't be discouraged do you feel that things have improved with your back since losing some weight? What state R U in? and when R U getting married? What do you mean by aggressive fills? Is the soup only for 24hrs after your fill then you ease back into it? Sorry about the barrage of questions ...... I keep coming up with more every time I hear new things hope you don't mind.

Hi All, Here is the website for Tony Ferguson www.tonyferguson.com. You can buy on line or through Terry White Pharmacies though you will need to check in your area. It is great as it has gret flavours still tough to do but a little more variety always helps and you can mix up your flavour choices so you have that variety through the day. Sussanah - "I would like to find a special someone, because I don't want to be alone anymore, and I would like to have a baby because the clock is ticking" Your words are like a memory for me I cannot count the number of times I said that, wrote that etc. I met my husband when I weighed approx 95kg and he was a fitness freak. I had moved to Perth for 12mths (to find myself) and came back heavier than when I left but I realised how much I was missing out on by letting my weight be the issue and let him in enough to see who I really was, I fell pregnant quickly and we had a lots of ups & downs I gained more weight didin't lose it felt crappy and acted crappy. Long Long stiry short we are married with 2 great kids and I am now over 115KG, I've struggled all my life with my weight and other issues and my husband is supportive infact he can't wait for me lose it and be a happier person. My point is that no matter how big or small you are you are fundamentally the same person inside, you will meet your Mr Right when YOU are ok with YOU its not about anyone else, and you are now on your way. Biggest Loser - I felt really angry at Sarah for giving up such a great opportunity, I understand her feelings of fear and loneliness but why sign up if you are not going to at least give it a good hard go!! So many people would love that opportunity and she walks out after less than a week!!! I hope she comes around but I did hear that someone leaves.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the advice, it just makes it so much more real hearing it from the people who have had it rather than in a brochure or booklet. I was interested to hear about the "big buy up" and how much food you said you wasted as I was planning to buy big over the next week, thanks for telling me that as I was curious about how much yogurt etc I would actually be able to eat. Susannah, well you are on your way. I am worried about the anesthetic myself as I don't do to well with them sounds like you are doing it hard but you like me have to have faith in what everyone else is telling us, the wait now really is killing me. I'm nervous, excited, scared you name it I feel it, I'm glad we are getting done so close together as at least you can let me know what I'm in for ahead of time (ha ha). I've got my mum flying up from Melb 14th Feb to be here for a couple of weeks as we don't know ANYONE here and the people I have met I haven't told about the band. Has anyone else kept it quiet??? Anyway take care and look forward to hearing your progress.

Hi All, It's been a few days since I have been on as alot has been going here. Day 4 or 5 or pre-op diet as you kow I am doing Tony Ferguson not Optifast (and thank-god for that by the sounds of it), they have a variety of shakes and have just intro'd a couple more flavour (Pina Colada not bad!!!), I also brought one of those "Magic Bullets" for mixing and I thought it would would help post op as well. great little machine. I am getting done on the 19th and millions of questions are floating around my head, maybe you guys can help. Can anyone elighten me on the best way to reduce the shoulder tip pain after surgery?? Can anyone let me know what they experienced after surgey i.e discomfort level etc. I have 2 young kids and am just wondering how to progress, Also have questions about post op diet, I have the booklets but would be keen to hear about your experiences in the lead up to solid food?? Look forward to hearing from you. Hope all is well and good to see some new names.
  5. Hi, I have approx 3wks top go b4 my band, I am getting a little nervous but mainly excited at my new life ahead of me. I am really struggling though with the pre-op diet. If I could stick to something so rigid I would not need a band.!!! Does any-one have any suggestions for me and even though I have read the literature can someone explain the reasons behind such a strict diet?? Would be really grateful for any help.

Hi Bronnie, I know the feeling I was supposed to start my diet 9 days ago and I cut down on things but didn't really get into it, then I looked at the video that Sussanah put me onto and it made me realise that I have waited this long to do this and it's so close that if I don't do this diet I could risk slippage or even worse not being able to have it done!!! It's been a long road to this point but you CAN do it!!! As i mentioned in my other post I was able to do the Tony Ferguson program 8 different flavours to choose from as I can't stomach the optifast, might be soething you can ask your Doc about. Good Luck:biggrin1:

Hi All, Had to suffer through the liver ultrasound today and blood tests did anyone else have to do that? The Procedures ok but whats with the people doing them, honestly if they hate the job that much they shouldn't be doing it. !! Thats my gripe for the day. I hope the results will be ok, I guess i'll here if they are not. I'm going to wean myself from the diet coke as cold turkey just isn't worth the pain, I'm down to one a day and hope to be over that by the end of the week. I am back on the diet tomorrow 100% as you know I have been struggeling but reading waht you guys have to say is really good inspiration, I just have such a lack of will power, but tomorrow will be the 1st of the month and the 1st day on my way to a better life!!! I have been given the ok to do Tony Ferguson program instead of optifast VERRRY similar but 8 different flavours I love the Espresso as it gives me that nice coffee taste sort of like a latte without the milk or coffee!!!! Are you all doing Optifast???

Hi All, Thanks for all your advice, I'm so glad I found this site as I have only moved to QLD 12mths ago from VIC and this is such a small community that I haven't told anyone about my band. I am interested to know about drinks after the band like diet coke (that I am unfortunately addicted to). I know you are advised not to drink with your meal but I was wondering do drinks like diet coke fill you up in the interim? Susannah good luck with your band only a couple of days away, I will be waiting to hear how you went with mine only a couple of weeks after yours 19th Feb.

Hi, I am only a couple of weeks out b4 my band. I am in Queensland and I have only recently discovered this site (last 2 days). I have been reading back over some posts and I have noticed that some people are doing pre-op diet for 2wks b4 band, is this the general rule??? I have been told to do it for a month!!! Any suggestions on after the band ie food as I have 2 young children and my husband works away.
  14. Hi all, My surgery date is 19th FEB. I was told ok to do other Meal Replacement if I wanted. I am getting done in Queensland Australia. I watched the video site that you suggested wow that is amazing and certainly gives you a new perspective on the surgery and pre-op diet!!!! It has definately changed my view on the diet. THANK-YOU . Good luck to all. This is a new beginning after a very long and hard road travelled.
