Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
sher67 replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi Slinx Thanks for that. Had my 3rd fill on 4th with Fredrick as Dr Chris was not available. He only put 1.5 in and he checked that I did not have a leek. So far I'm up to 5.5ml. Really hoping for some restricktion as like you I still eat a fair bit and having no weight loss. I meet a women on the day very slim she had lost 7 stone- she said to me after each fill make sure I stick with 3 days of fluids only that it seals the band and gives good restricktion. I'm going to stick with it caueI really need to weight to shift I'm getting a little down thinking I put myselfthrough all that for nothing. Will keep you posted. Welldone to those who are losing and good luck to all those about to start XXX -

Laila - I hav'nt been on the site for a while but had time today and have read last few pages. I was really looking for advice as am in the same situation as you. Know just how you feel - I was banded on 27 July and lost 14lb in the 1st 6weeks since then I've only lost another 2lb and nothing at all last month. I chose to keep my fills small so far have had 2 both with 2mls. I am hardly feeling any rescritition and can eat more now than i could a few weeks ago. What is going on. I was hoping to have lost at least 2 stone by xmas very disappointed. Sher  -

Slinky no worries it all took about 10mins - I was so glad to see Dr Chris. They call you into avery posh room Dr Chris asks who U R and when you were banded he has all your info on his computor. He weighs U and said I was doing well have lost about 16lb. He asks if there have been any prob then a very strict talk about calories, excerise and the rules for the next 5 days. For 2 days fluids only 2 days mushy food then on day 5 return to eating slowly and chewing really well. We agreed a 2ml fill I want my weight loss to be slow as worried about being sick and having loads of flab. I have to go back every month were he does the same again. It did'nt hurt I didnt even see the needle just uncomfortable for 2 sec when your skin is punctured. After you drink a cup of water to make sure alls ok. Pay yr £80 and off U go. There was loads of girls there some on there 2nd fill others worried about the 1st all happy to talk of their experiences most good, but a girl was little upset as no weight loss since her last fill. Good luck to all about 2 b banded and those going for fills x -

My 1st fill is on 9th Sept at 11.50 so hope to meet Emsey and anyone else going around that time. Although my weight loss is slow, Im really feeling the effects of the band, I cant eat bread, cakes red meat/pork anything doughy. I cant eat fast If i 4get it feels as though Im getting an electric shock from the band lol it stops me in my tracks. Im worried about 1st fill and sure Ive read we start with 3ml Im imagening all kinds of problems if i dont do it slowly and was thinking of asking Dr Chris 4 advice. please give as much advice as poss all those that have had a few fills thanks. -

Hi Summer Yr not alone only my closest family and friends know. I think i will tell others but when it feels right 4 me. My work place have been good they knew i had an op but not which 1 no one has asked 2 many questions. As long have researched the band taken on board the postivies and negatives and are prepared to live with that - then do what right for u. Dr Chris is good the treatment in Belgium is better than in the uk, so no worries there. keep asking questions x -

Im eating ok trying to keep most food soft and have had chicken and fish. I cant eat bread gives me real pain. I got fibre gel yesterday as am really constipated hope it helps. have been out quiet a bit for dinner stuck with chicken, keep reminding myself to eat slow...find it really hard. -
