The sleeve is the "new" thing right now but it's new, and thats that! Look at how many people have lost TONS of weight, over 100 pounds being banded! The sleeve must cost more money thats prob why they want you to do that haha! Stick with having the band, the surgery was the easiest part! You can def do it!! If you ever have any questions let me know! Im still learning myself obviously but things are definetly changing and sooner then I thought

This is me as of today in the wedding dress I am about to buy. I haven't weighed myself in a few weeks but I should be at about 185.

You look GREAT! I'm getting married Sept 2011 and have 100 pounds to go. Im on my way there and will not go near a dress until im down at least 80 haha!! You look gorgeous! Congrats! When's the wedding?!?!? -
Hey cole! Im actually doing GREAT! Had my staples out yesterday and feel awesome. Port site a little sore still, but thats nothing! I got the ok yesterday to start to workout and move to mushies, so im actually eating some baby food right now
I still haven't gotten a fill because im only 2 weeks post op. Have to go back in two weeks to double check to make sure all is good and then I think at that appointment they will tell me to move onto solid food! Then two weeks after that I get my first fill! Surgery wasnt bad AT ALL. The most pain I had was from the gas not the incisions whatsoever. Do you have a date yet?!?!?!?!? -

June, 2010 2 1/2 years after my band. I have lost a total of 207 lbs (182 since surgery) and have gone from a size 28 to a size 4. BMI from a 56 to a 23!

Today has been the BEST DAY EVER!! I officially now weigh UNDER 300 lbs at 298!!!! I was banded on July 15th and have lost 29 pounds since my preop visit!!!!! I couldnt wait for my first goal which was to make it under 300! And today I accomplished that goal!!!! Now on to the next goal of ONEderland!!!!! Super excited today, makes all this hard work worth it :thumbup:

Today is one week since my band was placed!!! I didnt have any bruising at all where my incisions were I was just swollen. The swelling has finally all gone away by today actually! Gas has gone away also. Im starting to feel hungry for the first time and am keepin on with my liquids for now! Today was the first day I can say ive felt my port, I cant really explain the feeling I just feel something is there when I sit and get up. It's still sore but nothing crazy. I'm down 16 pounds! Goodluck to everyone that is getting banded the rest of this month you will do just fine!!!! :biggrin: -
So today is post op day 2. I am definetly feeling the gas like most other people are feeling and it's not fun! Who would have thought that the gas would hurt more then the incisions??!?! Overall though i'm doing well. Still not hungry though. Today tried a Protein shake could only drink about half. I have been living on sugar free popsicles and Water and Vitamins of course. Overall I am really happy. Just wish this gas would go away!!!! In time it will. I was up walking the afternoon I was banded in the hospital. They had me stay overnight and I think it was a blessing. I had a barium the next morning and then was sent home. Key is to make sure you walk to get the gas moving along! I already had my first BM today also. So things are hopefully looking up. Im hoping each day gets a little better then the day before! I also had a hernia that needed repair so I have 5 incision sites. But the hernia site isnt causing me any pain or discomfort (as of yet anyway!) Goodluck to the rest of the bandsters this month!! I will be posting again soon and hopefully posting some pics soon as well too!!!!! :smile:

Today is now post op day 6! First day I have felt A LOT better and have actually been HUNGRY! Gas is going away. As far as burping goes, I havent had any at all. Are you drinking something carbonated and that's why you are burping?! Port incision site is sore but other then that all else is doing well! Took off one of my bandages today to get a peak. It was the hernia repair site and the incision looks great, I have three staples in there. I am going to see my doc on the 29th for staple removal! I am also on the liquids for 2 weeks. I must say I am used to them now because I was on liquids for a full 14 days pre op as well. But again like I said today was the first day I've felt hungry. Ive lost about 15 pounds and am starting to feel really good :thumbup:
