    How Did You Know?

Funny- that is something I keep asking myself. I don't want to be a size 2 - but if I keep losing I will there - about a10 11 right now

    Lap-Band Sucks

Lost 100 lbs with my lapband in just over a year- wouldn't go any other way personally 
  5. Should be fine. I had my period when I was banded. It's all laproscopic so they're not rooting around inside. Keep in mind for some people surgery will mess up your schedule after (mine didn't at all)
  6. 110% happy with my band and 100% successful. I know that of the 3 WLS options I know of the lapband is the only that is potentially reversible. I know I would not want to lose weight through malabsorption like with a bypass. I know nothing about the sleeve That being said.....I could not be happier with my band. We have worked hard together to get me to 100 lb weight loss. It isn't easy, but weight loss isn't simple. Losing weight takes work- I like the band because I can eat practically anything (except rice) and in a moderate portions. I live my life with my band and I am thrilled at who I have become

    I can't see it...

I am working on my self-image and there are times I wear a tighter shirt, bur I am still def more comfortable in one of hubby's T's ..I WILL see what others see , I know it. It is just a slower road- I didn't gain all that weight over night so the image change doesn't come quickly either
  8. Okay- everyone has a different story and you can't do what doesn't feel right for you. 1. My band and I work well together. I was was banded June 9, 2010 and I weighed about 263 heading into surgery. It is 14 months later and i weigh 161. I was a size 22 ( very tight) now its a loose 12

    What do you count? Calories/protein/carbs?

I use www.myfitnesspal.com (as do many others here) to count calories and protein. If u join feel free to add me UN: mauraclegg. It also tracks exercise. Great app and page

    I can't see it...

I am down 100 lbs (I weight 162 now) and I wear a size 12 or 10. I look so much better but STILL don't see myself as thin. It is a mental game we play. I try, bur I still head xxl shirts, etc

    Losing too fast?

You are prob losing so fast because of liquid diet. It will taper off when u start eating again. Mention it to your doc at next appointment- but I don't think u really need to worry

    Single Incision Lapband

    Single incision here. Was great
  13. mauraclegg

    Fills

I had a single incision, great results. Got my first fill after about 45 days. Had restriction from the beginning even before fills. Idk how much I have in my band, but have had like 4 fills. Lost 100 lbs, went from a 22 to a 12, a 44F to a 36DD, and recently had my tummy tuck

    Waking up THIN!!!

Amen!! But I am one of the ones who lost 80 lbs and still thought I looked fat ( in a size 12!). I think many do think the band is a magic wand and they expect instant gratification ( wouldn't that be wonderful), bur it does take work- not as much as without the band, but work all the same

    Big Boobies!!!

    I went from like a 44F to (now) a 36DD.
  16. I was banded June 2010 and had weight loss from that date. I have had 4 fills and have lost 100 lbs. I stand by the fact that weight loss is 85% band and 15% mental (if not more)

    2 new NSV's

    Congrats!!
  18. Seems far removed from your band, I didn't know that different spits was a typical option. My port WAS right above my belly button bit was moved when I had my TT to over to the left of my belly button

    Mind of it's own ..

I cruised along for about a year never having random issues with getting stuck, etc - but over the summer I had quite a few "bad band days" = at least that's what I choose to call them. It's a day like most others except NOTHING solid wants to go through my band no matter how good I chew. I have read others say it can have to do with stress (which makes sense because many of my bad days were when my daughter was acting up or I was stressed). I just stick to mushys or liquids on those days.. it's weird, but it happens

    Where is your port??

Right after i was banded my port was directly above my belly-button, but when I had my tummy tuck last month he moved it over to the left of it. I was never able to constantly feel it - unless one of my kids kneed me in it (and that hurt). How long ago was your surgery? Maybe that's why you are so aware and able to feel it.

    It's Official

I really do love my lap-band and I sing it's praises to anyone who asks me about my weight loss. I know that I would never be where I am without it. I am at a point now where I can eat some carbs or some bad food and I don't get stuck... I think I was fortunate from the beginning because I felt as if I had restriction from the beginning - my band was not filled at surgery - I think that it was my mind-set. I researched a lot on my own before hand so I knew what I was headed for portion wise, etc and I started eating smaller than a cup portions as soon as I was allowed food. I never went through bandster hell.. I haven't had a single bad part of my journey

    NSV',

Awesome Kitty- it is so satisfying to have the inches come off

    NSV',

Let's share some NSV's - I think at times they are better than a scale Yesterday I went to the salon to get my haircut- haven't been in around 4 years. My hairdresser looked at me strangely when I got there- he said you look so different- and he looked confused.... I asked him if it could be the 100 lbs. Ge gave me a big hug, congratulated me and told me I look younger than ever

thank you all... it is not an easy road that we have chosen for ourselves - being limited at times by our band.. but I have to tell you all that it is so worth it. It has been worth every piece of pasta and pizza that I have missed in the last 15 months... I am now able to but clothes in the regular section of stores and also can buy my bras at VS... It feels great and I hope that you all can have this same sense of accomplishment !! thank you for your support
