If def made a difference on my lower abdomen, but I can't say I am as thrilled with my upper - I still have some flab. I am sure if I actually set my mind to exercise then I could lose it - but winter makes me want to sit and hibernate

Spoiltmom - what is a no-drain TT? I had my drains in for a week and had to go have fluid expressed weekly for at least a month after that - and I had a small wound that took months to close as well - but all is well, I even have noticable hip bones now -
They gave me mesh-ish underwear to wear with my pad... not sure about tampons..

Ok!! Is Anyone 100% Happy W/ The Lap Band?? And Successful
mauraclegg replied to Jenmomto3's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Ok, going to see if I can put my experience in words for you as to why I think I have been successful with my band. I will preface by telling you I was 262 lbs on June 8, 2010 when I was banded; since then I have lost roughly 100 lbs and had a tummy tuck this past August. I am thrilled with both my new size 10 body and to have the ability to buy my undies and bras at Victoria's Secret (among other things) The band not only takes away the ability to overeat, but when I am eating I am mindful of the size of my portions and what is takes to fill me up. I am not a stickler to my new lifestyle. I still enjoy my ice cream (on occasion) and some chocolate (a small amount daily). My band also gives me the ability to say no to bread, or to only have a half a roll My band and I are successful because I knew it was time to lose weight and I needed the help I knew my band could give me I am happy, healthier and thinner -
Suggestions For Compression Garments
mauraclegg replied to khath0620's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I wore the binder from the hospital for a month post-op, BUT after I found that a spandex tank top ($5 at Wal-Mart) is a wonderful thing for some extra support. I agree with the sweat pants thing. Someone mentioned somewhere else to but some undies that are way to big as a second pair and put the bulbs inbetween the 2 pairs -
How much did the extra skin weigh for a TT?
mauraclegg replied to khath0620's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I just had my TT in August and lost about 10 lbs from the surgery. I had a full TT with muscle tightening.. once the initial swelling went down I was def down 10 lbs. I know they say skin doesn't weigh much, but mine did I guess. -
Hi Rob, This is a problem that I had (still can have) since I was banded June '10. I tried Fiber pills and stool softeners to no avail...... I will tell you the things I have found work the best for me... prune juice works for sure (a little thick to drink though).. I also use benefiber, 2 tsp in each cup of coffee in the morning.. I have also found that an Acai berry cleanse works well Hope things resolve themselves soon - but the Benefiber does the trick to keep things moving along

Oh boy- since my TT in August and meeting my 100 lb goal I have fallen off the eating right wagon BIG TIME. I need to get back on track?. I have even gained 4 freakin lbs. aargh!!!!!

Corrigan - I had not heard of the 5 day test, but I am starting it tomorrow. Thank you! Mimi- it is only a few pounds, but it's my lack of motivation thats killing me. Honestly I blame it on some lingering complications frm my TT. But I have to stop using that as a crutch and get my a$$ in gear

People just love to try and bring others down in whatever way they can. Don't let the haters bother you Jersey. You will succeed
-
Thanks Melinda. I am hoping to get back on track today

My muscles were plicated (shortened/tightened) during my TT

About 10 lbs here - -
Depends on your skin. Mine did NOT rebound after losing my weight. Just had my TT in August. Some people have skin that goes back

mauraclegg replied to acm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is normal! You body is adjusting to food again. This time is for healing!! -
Thanks Alien I find it hurts when I am getting up or sitting down. I can take the dog for a walk and I'm okay, but simple stuff around the house and it kills I am also trying massaging the spots to see if that helps

Hi I had my full TT on August 26, and to be honest the worst part was the UTI I got from the freakin catheter. Pain was minimal - more discomfort than anything My JP. Drains were removed after 7 days with no issues. Had a small part above my pubic bone that wasn't right - dr had me try antibiotics & bacitracin. Had to go back in once a week to have Fluid removed for several weeks Wound still wasn't getting better 3 weeks ago- dr debrided it and had me put a cream in it and pack it. Saw him last week and wound is shrinking & healing AND no fluid for the first time NOW - here's my question. Did anyone else have pain like right near hips weeks after TT? I am in more pain now that right after. It's sporadic- worse the more I do. And hurts when I stand/walk. Asked doc and he said normal with healing process. But- I am impatient.
-
Thank you. It reall isn't a difficult recovery. It's tiring at times. And this stretching is the worst. I finally started walking again and going to work out tomorrow
-
I did some additional research on my own and I think the pain I am experiencing is the stretching of the nerves/scar tissues over my hip area. It sucks, but at least it will pass
-
My port was moved from right above my belly button to the left side of it during my TT. It didn't create any problems or complications
-
I had mine 8/26

To be totally honest it was like a 4 1/2 right after surgery. I was never in immense pain. Just make sure u take the pain relief script. I was walking up right within the first week Good luck on your TT - keep me updated on how u are doing
