How soon after surgery should I have a BM?
mauraclegg replied to sashields's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It takes a little bit - but remember what the above people said, "liquids in, liquids out" I freaked personally until I read that my liquid problem was incredibly common, if not constant for most banders -
over researched and confused.

Sugar free gummi bears or worms?
mauraclegg replied to FLMichael's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein shake? Protein water? I wouldn't think gummy bears. You're not supposed to be really chewing anything. Pudding? Even ice cream -

Maggie I was hoping to be 100 lbs down by my 1 year band-aversary - but that's not going to happen. I am at 80 lbs and my 1 yr is on June 8. I don't need a fill either.

My weight loss is also totally stalled. My doc isn't worries, but I have only lost about 5 lbs since February. I am trying to up my protein and increase water intake now- but it is HARD. I was prob only taking in around 20 protein a day and now trying to find a way to get to around 100 and I am finding it really hard

Sleeping on your stomach?
mauraclegg replied to SDTeaGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a stomach sleeper too and was banded June of last year. It took me about 2 weeks to be close to sleeping on my stomach (with a little help from a well placed pillow) and another couple for it to not be a concern. I am happy to say I sleep on my stomach every night with no pain and no worries -

Anyone not losing weight?
mauraclegg replied to EspeciallyKK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded last June and I lost pretty steady up until February of this year. I haven't lost more than 3 pounds since then, but I did drop a pants size. In my case I am having trouble increasing calories, protein and water intake. -

water, water, water
mauraclegg replied to mauraclegg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that is what I am starting to think too (that I may be too tight). I was just at the doctor last week and he knows I am eating very little. He says my body may be trying to tell me to stop losing. He did give me diet pills to give me a boost. I am down about 80 lbs and in a size 10/12, but I am not happy with the number on the scale (abt 180) or the view in my mirror. I am trying to find new foods, but I am unfortunately very picky. -
I have a (probably stupid) question. I have been reading that many of you drink about 100 oz of water a day - is that key? I admit I am not good at drinking water all the time - I prob don't take in 100 oz of any liquid during the day. If I start drinking my water will it help me start to lose again? I should prob add I take in maybe 800 calories on a bad day, around 600 on a good and haven't lost more than 3 pounds in the last 2 months

mauraclegg replied to futurelooksbright09's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Food was a good friend of mine too, bur breads and chocolate were my bff's forever (or so I thought). Can't tolerate bread much anymore (even toasted), but I can eat chocolate -
Has any old timers made it with never throwing up or getting stuck?
mauraclegg replied to JWKJR's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been filled 11 months and I have def thrown, blocked, stuck, etc. I am better at it not happening now, but there are days that everything sticks and others nothing does. I can't eat rice and I stay away from bread except for a rare occasion. Stuck isn't horrid. It's uncomfortable. But if you stretch out it usually helps. I have heard people sipping to get unstuck, but I do that I throw innediately -
I would have been thinking the same things you were Den. Every time the slightest thing goes wrong I find my inner hypochondriach

I have been trying to get my calories up, but it's hard! I can't eat all that much, but I am trying to get them up. Can't eat any fruits, but I have recently added lettuce to my diet again. My band is pretty tight, but I need to keep losing. thank you for your advice -
I recently read no asprin - but my doc had no problem with me taking Aleve, etc
