Do you kinda wonder about the Band for losing only 60 lbs?
missgypsy replied to kab1278's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i only had 68 lbs and i am only 5'4" (used to be an inch taller but something happened somewhere). my bmi was over 35 and i fit the requirements with my insurance. i really think the lb thing is just a number...it's hard to loose weight whether it's 68 or 100. before long it would be a 100. the more you weight the harder it is on your mind, body and spirit. and also we must include your relationships with family and friends. i carried my weight well and i hide alot of it. so to some i might not have looked like i fit the requirements but everyone has a different story. i figure as long as your insurance approves it and you are willing to work for it (remember the band is just a tool) then it's all good. so please don't knock anyone whether it's 60 lbs or 260 lbs. we are all the same and we are all working towards the same goal. -
I got a hospital bill for$60K for my Band!!
missgypsy replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

fills without fluorsocopy????
missgypsy replied to DRP's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my dr does the fills without. he does have the machine and does it occasionally on ppl but so far not on me. -
i just found this out yesterday afternoon. I was hoping to not have to attend any till i lost all my weight lol. I enjoy going but it's the shopping for a dress, previously i hated shopping. I would like something that is comfortable, yet stylish, and doesn't make me look like the broad side of a barn. I always end up settling for something i don't like because it's all i can find. Well not this year ladies lol. I plan on finding something super cute and shows off some of my body. hubby thinks i should wear purple- ok hope i don't look like a grape when he's in his dress blues (i was thinking hot pink or leopard lol). I know black is slimming but i've worn so much black that i'm trying to stay away from that color. And to top it all off is it's nov 6!!! less then a month away...i've already hit ross, goodwill, 1/2 of 1/2 off name brand clothing and a consigment store. i will go ck out the other goodwill and salvation army store later today. sometime will go to the mall. i'm really trying to go with a good outlook but it's hard to get yourself in that frame of mine when you keep thinking of the past experiences. wish me luck that i find something lol.

? for people who have to crush pills
missgypsy replied to doodlebug54's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i just got off my bp meds and i never had to crush them because they are so small. and i know birth control pills are small also. i was told nothing bigger then an eraser. were you told to crush all pills? i would think they would be small enough not to do anything with. -

Can you have "stuck" periods and still require a fill?
missgypsy replied to uni92fan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very good question. I'd like to know the answer to this also. I've only had one fill of 4 cc's back at my 6 wk check up. I was banded May 20th. So it's been a while for me lol. I got stuck last night because I took to big of a bite. So can anyone answer this question? -
I had my hysto 4 yrs ago and my lapband surgery in may. shoot i cry ALOT!! cried this morning lol more then once too. i'm dealing with stuff and don't know how to deal with it. geez that didn't make alot of sense to me lol

that will be 10 days after surgery. yes i think you will be ok. i was cooking 10 days out and no problem at all. does anyone normally help you or do you cook all alone? i'd ask someone to help me out so i didn't feel so stressed out.

i've lost 43 lbs so far and i feel like i am doing great. well i know my closet is getting bare because i keep taking clothes out that are way to big. i could see it but really couldn't 'see' it. well today i had to go out and get the kiddos some jeans. and i stopped at a consignment thrift store. i only have shorts and 3 pairs of capris so needed something else before it gets really cold. i tried on size 14's. too big. so i went with 12's and they fit. too short because i have long legs but the rest of it fit lol. so went to goodwill since i couldn't find any other and found a pair of 12 jeans. they also fit. almost to big but thinkiing when i wash and dry them they will shrink some. wooohooo and whats even better is that they were 99 cents!!!! so now i realize i wasn't giving myself enough credit because i still see myself as 'fat' but i'm not all that fat anymore. so now i SEE it!

i make menu's up for 2 wks at a time. it's easier for me to shop and also much easier when you think hey what we are having for dinner. just go look at the menu on the fridge and there ya go. we don't always stick with it and might change up a day or two here and there but it's so much easier and when we do this we don't go off track. plus we just put ourselves on a budget so we can save for a vacation so it's kinda an incentive not to waste food and over spend.

Where to find liquid tylenol?
missgypsy replied to bayareanan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i buy mine at walgreens or px. -
Ok I have a question. Does anyone have sore breast? I swear I think mine are going to fall off my body lol. I've lost 43 lbs and have changed bra sizes during all of this. they are kinda deflated now. looking kinda sad but it's ok. anyways i've read you store estrogen in your fat cells and evidently mine have went away in this area. i had a complete hysto 4 yrs ago next month and was on primarin pills (highest mg dose) and now am on climara patch due to the band. well they have upped that 3 times now and i am on 1.25 mg patch (she started me out on the lowest mg patch). for some reason my dr is really resistant on upping the mg on it. i guess my question is is the soreness related to the weight loss or low estrogen or both??? i'm thinking of calling tomorrow and asking if they will up it again. she has done blood work and said it was in the ok range but to me i don't feel that it's ok. i just didn't know if anyone else is having this or have had this problem before.

caffine withdraws???
missgypsy replied to angieboyd's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
your body is in shock from no caffeine and no sugar. the weight loss will happen but right now it's in withdrawls. have you tried splenda? it's not bad in decaf tea. i know others use stevia. i think thats how it's spelled lol. my mom swears by it. good luck -
mmmmm i love soups!! i always keep some in the cabinet so when i dont know what to have for lunch or dinner. also for the days when i just dont feel like eating it's in there. i've been craving my homemade chicken and noodles...gotta revise my noodle recipe since i'm not doing the past thing. you can always have bean soup or split pea soup. they have more consistancy then just a broth based soup.

i'm spending less on groceries but i feel so guilty about cleaning out the fridge and throwing things out. once a week is leftover night and everyone hates it lol. i tell them well eat it when i fix it and you won't have leftovers lol but i need to learn not to cook so much. hubby eats leftover for lunch if he wants it, my oldest takes some sort of leftover for lunch so sometimes not much left in there. i have one shelf for my yogurt, sf jello, pudding, crab salad and boiled eggs- they know dont touch my stuff cuz it will get UGLY!! lol i spent 152.00 on groceries the other day for 2 wks. kinda proud of myself. you know even with buying the more expensive things like protein powder you are spending less. oh and btw the money i dont spend hubby thinks i'm to put it in savings or pay on another bill...he put me on a budget the other day lol

Help! STARVING on pre-op diet!
missgypsy replied to BostonPA's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
nope no one has ever died from doing the pre-op lol but i'm sure we've all wanted to. when i did mine i was also able to have cheese and some ham ore turkey lunch meat. but only once serving a day and never together. made it go further. after a while you just won't even be hungry anymore. i think one thing that saved me was that i ended up sick with a sinus infection and so i felt like crap and didn't want to eat lol. -
I had a boiled egg and very cherry yogurt. So what's everyone else having?
