    Just had my 1st Fill

I had the same experience at my first fill today! I was so worried about it last night it was almost like the night before surgery all over again. Turns out it was NOTHING! I told them I was scared so they put the "chicken spray" a topical numbing medicine first. Then the numbing shot. Then the fill. I asked when he was going to do it and it was already over! Drank some water and was good to go! On clear liquids for 2 days, full liquid/soft food for a day and back on solids by Saturday. I'm pretty bumed that I'm on a liquid diet again...thought I would never have to do that again after surgery. But a few days isn't so bad. Its worth it.
  4. Never need those old big clothes again. Isn't that great? That is what is so amazing about what we have done! Depending on your body type(if you have a large tummy that will be getting smaller which most of us have)...here is a suggestion about transition clothes...MATERNITY! I bought a pair of jeans at motherhood and it was the best investment ever. Think about it, those clothes are made to grow into. Well we are getting smaller and it works the same way. Plus maternity clothes are cute and very comfortable. And the stretchy band on new maternity pants has a slimming effect. It worked for me...good luck!
  5. Hey gabwill, I'm emma. 33 yrs old from florida. Banded on aug 12th. It hurt like hell! Way more than expected. I'm still in pain....or ridiculously sore to say the least! But I'm improving every day. I too would like some buddies on here so I hope you and me and nancy keep in touch!
  6. Hi nancy, I'm emma. I'm 33 and I live in florida. I have lost 25 lbs since preop diet. I was banded on aug 12, 1 day before you. So we can do this together! I'm on full liquids now too and I hate it! I'm looking so forward to soft/pureed foods! This full liquid sucks and I'm just ready to start eating again! But it is very important to follow the progressive diet because our stomachs are still healing. If we go to chunky food too fast we can stretch the pouch and cause some serious damage. Now why would we put ourselves through that after all we have been through?! I have been eating sugar free pudding and low fat vanilla yogurt during this phase and it helps...they are filling and make me feel like I'm having a treat. Creamy soups with no texture are also good. Like v8 soup(butternut squash is my fav). It makes me satisified and has some flavor so I actually feel like I'm eating something real. I think those things keep me from cheating. Hope this helps! Let's keep in touch and help each other out since were both so new to this!

    Banded and feeling sad?

I totally have the "post op blues?" I was banded on 8/12. Home from the hospital and a couple days later I was feeling sad. I also had feelings of remorse and doubt. I guess this is normal and will go away but its a scary feeling to doubt something that you were so sure about and worked so hard for. Its very confusing. The "high" is over and still in pain from the surgery. Wanting to eat and feeling so "inexperienced" and "new." How and when do you get past this?
  8. Thanks for replying! I have so many questions! Went to the surgeon for my last appointment b4 the procedure. Scheduled preop for the 14th and liquid diet started today. I'm so happy its happening but really nervous. Congrats by the way! How did it go for you?did it end up being as scary as we think it is? Did u have any complications? How did u feel right after and how are u feeling now? Have u lost much weight since u started the process? Please tell me anything u want to share. Good or bad.

    Any June Bandsters???

I just found out yesterday that my surgery is on june 17th. The approval procces was vague and it feels like its all happening so fast! I'm so excited and so scared. Not too worried about the liquid diet...but I'm still smoking(very addicted) and so scared to quit yet scared to be smoking after all I have read about going under anesthesia as a smoker. I had planned to quit afterwards but now I know I have to before hand and its causing 90% of my pre surgey anxiety. Liquid diet starts Wednesday...how can I give up eating and smoking at the same time?
  10. Looking for a mentor...the approval process was so vague for 6 months and then all of a sudden I find out on Friday that I'm having my surgey on 6/17. I have to start liquid diet on Wednesday and I'm still smoking. Veryt excited but very scared. Need some guidance...especially about the smoking.
