Chili and Soups...Sliders???
Ristina18 replied to kab1278's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chili has been a life saver for me. This is from the website theworldaccordingtoeggface.com and it is my favorite!!! You will find a lot of great recipes on her website! She had gastric bypass years ago. Shelly's Night Before Turkey Chili 1 Yellow Onion, diced 3/4 pound Ground Turkey 2 cloves Garlic, chopped 1 Tablespoon Chili powder 1 Tablespoon Ground Cumin 1/2 teaspoon Oregano Kosher Salt to taste a few twists of Black Pepper 1 (15 oz) can Chopped Tomatoes with juices 1 (15 oz) can Red Kidney Beans, drained and rinsed 1 Tablespoon Agave Syrup Hot sauce to taste Saute onion till golden. Add turkey and cook breaking up large pieces with a spoon, until it's no longer pink. Add garlic and seasonings. Cook for 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool. Refrigerate overnight. Reheat and serve with Shelly's Spicy Yogurt Dip and a sprinkle of shredded cheese. -
go take a look at theworldaccordingtoeggface.com she has some great ideas

I love mine! There was a little discomfort while my dr was putting it in and then the first week it took a little getting used to it but now I dont even notice it. My periods have stopped. I got mine because I was having headaches and then I found out that I was having headaches due to my high BP and high BP and BC dont mix so I got Mirena.

Before being banded I was "regular" then after being banded it was like once every 2-3 days. I have found that if I do not eat enough "roughedge" aka salads I get "stalled Bowels." I also drinking Prune juice. The dr says that we will not go to the bathroom like we did before because we are also not eating a much foods as we were before.

When did you really start to see the weight come off?
Ristina18 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Everyone, I was banded on July 27, 2010; I have lost a total of 33lbs since starting the pre-op diet (beginning of June). I had my first fill of 3ccs in a 10cc band on September 13th. I have lost 2-3lbs since then but nothing more. Don’t get me wrong I am happy that I have lost that much but I guess I just figured that I should be losing the 1-2lbs a week that the dr told me about. I am exercising 3-4 times a week. I usually try to walk/run 4 miles. My eating habits are no fast food, high Protein foods, and salads. Don’t get me wrong I do give into sweets a little but I’m not over indulging in them. My question is when did you really start to notice the weight coming off. I’m thinking that maybe when I get another fill I may start to see to come off faster. -
Any ideas on how to make cottage cheese a dessert?

Go take a look at theworldaccordingtoeggface.com she has a lot of good recipes. She uses ricotta cheese more but I think there are some cottage cheese recipes. -

I like GNC brand. What I suggest is buy a vanilla and choc and go to theworldaccordingtoeggface.com and take a look at all the different things she does with vanilla and choc. -
Hair loss - Anyone?
Ristina18 replied to Stacey627's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my hair is already thin, and after surgery it just got worse but now that I am 2 months out I can see that new hair is coming in. My dr said its because of the surgery and weight loss. I cant afford to lose to much more. -
when did you get restriction?
Ristina18 replied to merrywait's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded July 27,2010 with a 10cc band and had restriction as soon as I got out of the hospital. I would "pb" if I ate to much or didnt chew food well enough. I just got 3.5cc put in and I have more of a restriction now. But I think that with one more fill I should be at my "sweet spot." My doctor said that I will probably not be able to have to much more put in because my band was already snug around my stomach when they put it in. -
So what's for dinner??
Ristina18 replied to missgypsy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I made Shelly's Chorizo Casserole from this blog site. theworldaccordingtoeggface I have found a lot of great recipes from her. It was really easy to make and delish! I added a little cheader cheese to the top. It is high in protein with the chicken Chorizo and beans. -
no, my dr told me to drink 1%. I also enjoy soy milk.
