    Dr. Atul Madan?? Any thoughts??

Hi, I had my surgery with Dr. Maddan on October 15th of 2010. I've had nothing but praises for Dr. Maddan. He's been the same dr that i've had perform all my fills and he's very accessible, I have his cell phone # and we're also friends thru Facebook. He's very open & will answer any and all questions. I wish you all the best on your surgeries.

    I survived my first fill!

Congrats to you both on your weight loss. I had my first fill on 11/27/10. My bad is 14CC and the Dr added 4 CC. The fill didn't hurt @ all. I haven't felt any restrictions yet but i'm just now back on mushy foods
  4. Hello all, hope you had had a wonderful Thanskgiving. I was banded on October 15, 2010, and weight that day was 241. I've been lucky to not have experienced any excessive gas from the band. I've been walking daily and up to walking now 3.5 miles a day every morning. I've dropped a full size in pants (glad I kept all my jeans from all my days of yo yo dieting). I had my first fill on November 27. My bands cc is 14 and the dr added 4 cc. Currently i'm on mushy foods again. I'm scheduled to go back in 2 weeks for my next fill.
  5. I've been very blessed in not having very much gas. I've resumed back to normal life. I've added walking to my everyday life & have really started to see results. My first fill is scheduled for the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

    Banded & The Single Life

I personally don't think its someone you've just started dating's business. If things start to get more serious then by all means feel free to tell but why tell them everything when you're just getting to know a person. I've got petite friends that remain petite because of how little they eat, men aren't going to be shocked that you eat small meals.

    Third Week and Hungry

I agree speak to your surgeon about the diarrehea I hear its not good to have it. It has to do with what kinds of food you're intaking.

    Third Week and Hungry

I'm so glad someone else is having the same issues. I had my surgery on October 15th and have been feeling hungry as well. I've been good on eating small portions, I know that I need to drink more water. If I get hungry I'll reach for my water or a sugar free popsicle. Good luck!
  9. I wanted to share a few helpful things that helped with sleeping the first few nights after the surgery. - sleeping in a lazy boy recliner - neck pillow (like the ones you use for traveling) Once you're able to sleep in bed, keep body pillows on each side of you to help you from sleeping on your side or stomach, keeps you in your place.
  10. Hi all, I was banded October 15, 2010. I was told to arrive @ the hospital @ 12:30, which I did, sat in the waiting area till about 3 p.m., was then taken to the pre-surgery room to get weighed, meet with doctor for any last minute questions & wait. Surgery took place about 5, (i was the last one for the day). Came off Anesthesia about 6, but was told my blood pressure was very high so was being monitored. (up until then I'd never had blood pressure issues). Stayed in recovery till 6:30, then was wheeled off to my room. I felt very sore & tired. I'm glad I stayed the night in the hospital because the nurses were great & I was being closely monitored. sleeping was bad, cause of pain but also cause I'm a side & tummy sleeper. I walked every 2 hours. The next morning, I woke up refreshed & was ready to head home. For Breakfast they gave us 2 bottles of Water, non fat milk, broth, Jello & optisure shake. I had the jello & milk. Now that I'm home I'm walking every 2 hours, making a shake for breakfast, making crystal light drinks for during the day, having broth, jello & of course sugar free popsicles. Went to see the doctor yesterday and he said I'm doing great & should be able to go on the mushy stage by Friday. I'm planning to return to work tomorrow (Thursday), now that I'm no longer taking the pain meds. I've been having problems drinking enough water, but I know its key to keeping hydrated.

    October 2010 Bandsters!!

Hi all, I'm joining in on the bandster bandwagon for October. My surgery is scheduled for October 15th. I'm currently on the pre-surgery diet (2 protein shakes + a light lunch). My only issues been that I'm PMS'ing this week and have been craving chocolate! UGH, I'm not even big on chocolate but crave it the days before my period. Last night I had my sleep study test, seemed to go well, they told me I'll have my results in a few days. My insurance is requiring an overnight stay for my surgery, probably for the best, but I've never stayed in a hospital. Good luck to all of you being banded this week and can't wait to continue reading how you all are doing.

Anyone nibbled on the pre op diet??

Hi I'm being banded October 15th and I'm on the 2 week diet as well, but I'm allowed 2 protein shakes a day and a very light lunch with lean meat (4 oz); salad, veggies & broth. Sucks that they have you not allowed to have anything.
