I need a kick in the butt!!!
The Favorite replied to The Favorite's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much for the responses. It really is appreciated! I switched doctors three months ago, and have had a fill every month since then. I am only up to 3cc's in my band. I have no clue how large my band is. I find myself wanting to eat anything I can get my hands on. I have quit buying "bad" stuff for the house. I am addicted to skinny cow ice cream bars. I need to just say no sweets, just like I did with dr pepper! I am an ex-smoker as well, so the chocolate cravings come from lack of cigarettes...no excuse though!! -
I need a kick in the butt!!!

It seems like I find myself thinking about food all of the time and that leads to snacking!! I am scheduled for another fill next week. I think I am struggling mentally more than anything. Its like the fat girl in me is back telling me chocolate is my BFF! I thought for a while that I had gotten rid of her!! Maybe i need to tell myself NO SNACKS! Or something! Any suggestions? -
Ok....so I need a kick in the butt. I was banded May 28th. I have lost 30 pounds since then. However, I have not lost anything in 3 months! That's right.....3 months! I have had two fills since my surgery. I only have problems eating bread, nothing else. I can eat WAY more than 1 cup of food if I let myself. I feel like I am hungry all of the time. I currently have no motivation to eat right or exercise. I cannot seem to get back on track. It seems like I cannot lose anything whether I eat right and exercise or not. I want this to be a change I will make for the rest of my life. I am so tired of living this fat life!

Can't Stop It

Thank you for all of the suggestions. I am not at good restriction yet. I have only had one fill. My surgery was in May and I had my first fill last week. I can't tell a difference at all. I find myself snacking all day long. I did really really good at first staying away from the vending machine and all of that....now....not so much. I have pulled out the fat pictures and made a commitment to myself to not have bad Snacks today! I brought my Protein shake with me for breakfast and another for an afternoon snack. I also have some string cheese in the fridge just calling my name. I had a long talk with me last night. I didn't do all of this to get fat again. This is a LIFESTYLE change. It didn't take me long to get fat, but it didn't happen overnight. Its going to take time to get this off.....and I am just going to have to take it one day at a time. Thanks again for the responses. It means a lot when you can actually get support from people who have been through the same thing. -
I cannot seem to stop thinking about food. I "think" I am hungry all of the time. I need help.

Thank you! I am going to try to find something lower in calories. I guess I could take my crystal light packets and just order some vodka or rum! Thanks for the info!

Eating like a hog

Julian'sMom - He was going strictly on the weight loss. But, like I said, I haven's lost anything in three weeks. I called the office yesterday, and I have an appointment in two weeks, so I will have to wait to talk to him until then. Thanks for your posts! They really do make me feel better! Andread73 - you can click on my ticker and it will take you to the link. They have lots of different ones! -
I'm really worried I am eating too much...

I have no advise, but thought I would let you know that you are not alone. I am in the same situation. I can eat anything I want to....not that I should, but I do at times. I have had no problems with breads, meats, etc.... I am also able to eat fast. I find myself eating super fast sometimes and put my fork down. I try to make a conscious effort, but that's only when I realize that I am doing it. My biggest weakness I think is no drinking with meals. I can't seem to ditch the drinks! -
Eating like a hog

Thank you everyone for your responses. I haven't had any fills yet. I am super excited that I have lost 27 pounds in two months, just discouraged that I haven't lost anything in three weeks. I am trying to get in enough protein. I have at least one protein drink per day and try to eat other things high in protein to ensure I am getting enough. My meals are lasting a couple of hours. I try to eat a healthy snack if I have one, like a light string cheese or something like that. I thought that maybe while I wasn't losing pounds, that I was losing inches. I did at first, but nothing now! Ughhh! I get full pretty fast, but can eat way more than I am supposed to. I can't eat anything near what I used to....but I don't really feel any restriction. I know that I shouldn't complain, but I feel disappointed in myself. Like I am not trying hard enough or something. As far as my doctor, he doesn't really have the best bed side manner by any means. He is VERY different. He thinks that if you are losing, you dont need a fill. When you stop losing or slow down on it, you will need a fill. Idk why he thinks that. He needs to just do what I say! Ha Ha. After all, I totally went to medical school. I know I probably should be complaining about 27 pounds in 2 months, and going down 2 pant sizes....but yet here I am....complaining. If I could see the scale go down a couple and stay down, I would feel much better. -
Any suggestions for some lap band friendly cocktails? I am turning the big 30 and graduating with my master's degree in three weeks. We will have a huge celebration and I am looking for some great tasting, yet not too bad for you drinks....

I am so discouraged at this point. I had surgery May 28th have lost 27 pounds. I am hungry all of the time and have no restriction at all. I lost 8 pounds last month, so the dr said I didn't need a fill. I can eat however much I want to. I keep gaining and losing the same 3 pounds. It is starting to make me angry. I know that a lot of it is my own fault. I don't always eat what is healthiest, but I do most of the time. I am exercising too. I know that when I go into the dr in a couple of weeks, he is going to wonder what in the heck I have been doing. Any suggestions as to how I can get past this plateau?
