  1. He watches you like a hawk and supports you by drinking wine in front of you, knowing how badly you would like a glass..........that would be frustrating...lol
  2. My birthday is Oct 02, 1977. I was banded May 21st 14 weeks ago. Just thought that was a strange coincidence. Good luck with your wightloss.

    Frustrated as Hell

LOL....my thoughts exactly. You will learn to ignore the preachers.... no worries. I drink beer here and there and it will be fine. You being a fisherman and all, you may have to cut back some. It's going to be hard out fishing without a beer huh? lmao I know fishermen! I have had 6 fills now. My sixt fill was done on August 17 and I tried to drink a beer on August 27. I took one drink and it came right back up. Way too bubbley, so just waith the band will "help" you stop soon. I was also able to eat pretty much whatever I wanted untill around my 4 fill. I have a 10 cc band. Hang in there. The tool will come around. I was so frustrated for the first few fills.
  4. I'm betting that you need to turn down the humidity. I didn't have it in my lungs, but I would wake up able to feel the water in my nose and had to turn it down. It was on the lowest setting. I don't have to use it anymore....yah!!! Hang in there.
  5. Isn't it funny how there is always people telling us what to do. What is the most ironic is that it's people who have not been through it....so what does she know? Not trying to disrespect your family, but if you want to listen to someones' advice let it be a person who has advice on the subject to begin with. I am struggling with my bad habbits and still managed to lose 25 lbs in 3 months. It cant be said better than Liegha said it "it is a process not an event." Hang in there and visit us often!
  6. I'm so sorry to hear that. I've heard in the past that they will just place it again if/when your stomach is healed from the slippage and can take it. Good luck and don't fret. You did it once and you can do it again!

    Eat before fill?

My doc said I could eat before fill. I did and after the fill I felt major restriction and it was uncomfortable. I guess when he tightened the band it pushed some of the food up. From then on I eat 3 hours before fill time. Your band should still tighten fine, but the food you ate has to go somewhere, if you have some in your band area, it will go up or down. Obviously mine went up....lol.

    Anyone?

I am becoming obsessed with my eating habbits. I'm always afraid that I've gained weight and when I go to the doc. I'm steadily losing 1lb/week. Is anyone else havving anxity attacks about your eating habbits?
  9. Try not to worry. This is what I go thruugh ever two weeks. Going to the doc for a fill and so worried that I've gained weight rather than lost any. I am always suprised to have lost 1lb/week. Not as much as I like but hey, it's a loss. I have been in banster hell so far as well. You are probably not eating as much as you think you are. Just compare to what you ate before. That's what I do anyway. Good luck! I hope your first fill does the trick.
  10. May 21, 2010 Somewhat healthy None yet........I know bad girl! 16 lbs 3ed fill yesterday and fineally have great restriction! Yay!! Happy with results so far, but want to lose 2 lbs/week instead of 1.

    Am I insane?!

I thought lapband hell was the term used for the time that we can eat whatever we want due to no restriction? I guess I was mistaken.
  12. The same thing happened to me and I feaked out and bought a pregnancy test........it was false! I have heard that any major surgery is likely to cause our cycle to change.

In need of answers and support please....

Are you taking your Vitamins and reaching your Protein goals? I hope everything is okay. As far as the wightloss, I feel your pain. I am 4 weeks out of sugery and had my first fill....3 cc. I don't feel much restriction and am scheduled for my next feel on the 13 of July. Don't worry, from what I'm reading and experiencing it take a while to get to the "sweet spot" and start dropping the weight.
  14. I want I want I want!! I want and am planning for everything on here, even the belly dancing. LOL I can't wait to go clothes shopping without hiding from those huge mirrors that are impossbile to hide from in the dressing room. I hate trying on clothes now that I've gotten so heavy.

    Soda soda soda

The only thing I've found so far that hurts is whole chicken breast. I can eat strips, but not whole chicken. It hurts like hell going down and last time I tried it, I hat three bites and had to vomit. Sorry that is gross, but that is the first time, I've vommited since surgery. Needless to say, I am staying away from chicken for now. I havn't tried steak yet.

    Is it just me?

You guys should be proud. If you are a leader, than lead somone to greener pastures. It is good that your friends are following along. Buying a house, WLS, having babies. These are wonderful things. Be proud to be an inspiration. They may be trying to hold you down, but listen to yourselves. It's sounds like you are lifting them up. That is awesome!
  17. Can't wait to be there! I love reading these posts, it gives me motivation and a light at the end of the tunnel. Love yall!

    Am I eating too much?

I had the same problem. I got my fist fill yesterday. I told my doc, I was eating about 2 cups, sometimes maybe a little more. He told me after the fill, I would be eating about 1 cup. Of course I was dissappointed. I said, "I thought our goal was 1/2 cup?" He laughed and said don't worry, this is your first fill. In four weeks, we will shoot for 1/2 cup. He said he was more worried about getting too much Fluid in than not enough. So hopefully by my next fill, It will cut me down to 1/2 cup.
  19. What is bandster hell? Sorry, newby here.
  20. These are the best most informative posts, I've read yet. I'm a new bandster and am going through many of these ups and downs and am so glad to hear that it is normal and common. I was starting to worry about not losing in the long run, but it looks as if the long run is the most loss. I know the wait will be worth it. Thanks so much everyone.
  21. I was banded on May 21st. I am on soft foods now. I was eating barely a 1/2 cup, but the past two days, I've been eating about 1 cup before feeling full, and am hungry again after just two hours. I'm hoping my first fill will fix this problem. I'm thinking the sweeling is all the way down sense the rstriction has lessoned quite a bit. We'll see. I'm anxious for my first fill on the 15th.

    First Fill...

I'm scheduled for my first fill on the 15th and my doc didn't give me any instructions, so I guess it doesn't matter. It would make sense to me to have an empty stomach that day. It would make sense to me that if there is food passing through the band you wouldn't want to fill it while the food was there. I'm going with an empty stomach, but my doc didn't tell me too.
  23. My doc is going to fill me 4 weeks post op. Thanks for the shared info about it. I'm nervous about the fill.
  24. I was banded on the 21st. I am eating soft foods because liquid and puree was not filling me. I think my stomach swelling was gone pretty quick. liquid worked for about 4 days. Puree didn't stay in my pouch. I have restriction now on soft foods, but am able to eat arounda cup of food, but hey that is way less than before banded. I hope to get a fill soon so I can eat the 1/2 cup I'm supposed to be eating. I don't know how much weight I've lost. I want to wait till my first doc appointment to find out. I refuse to buy a scale just yet. I don't want to obsess about weight, but focus on eating and excersising. My first followup appointment is tomorrow, so we'll see!
