How Much Do You Think Your Bazoombas Weigh?
Ladybandito replied to Leepers's topic in The Gals' Room
Do your boobs hang low? Do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie 'em in a knot? Can you tie 'em in a bow? Lol, I can, almost. Even though mine are low and deflated, I bet there's a good 5 pounds each there. And before my band probably 10 each. My back feels so much better now! -
Good call. A tiny infill will make a world of diifference. I know a lot of newbies think they will lose more or faster if they are adjusted too tight, but search this forum and you will see that being really tight can cause you to revert to sliders and smoothies which can pack on the pounds. Here's to you feeling better soon and your steady, continued weight loss. Please be patient, so many are in such a rush!

Lower Bmi: 5'5 And 219lbs. Anyone Like Me?
Ladybandito replied to PudgyYogaChic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just an update... I'm 5'6.5 and 145 now. I've been very, very pleased and think I am a good example of how sometimes not all of your excess weight is lost in the first year ... The losses can continue if you continue to work at it ... Even after months long plateaus! -

Is your weight loss surgeon morbidly obese?
Ladybandito replied to Lapbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No, my doc is very slim ... And very handsome! The staff, not so much! -
Good Luck, Kymie. Hope all is well, and let us know. If you have to lose some fill to get rid of heartburn, It would be a good choice overall, though.

Hello Everyone! What's your diet consist of?
Ladybandito replied to WshfullyShrnkng's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's what I figured, and responded as such. :-) I also think it interesting and helpful to see what other folks are eating. B-52 is correct in saying that the further along in the process you get, you are able to stray from the strictness and still maintain; ie, early on I restricted carbs, now I don't. Simply because I can't eat enough of them anymore to cause a gain! Well, maybe I could force them down in pain, but what's the point of that! :-) -
Hello Everyone! What's your diet consist of?
Ladybandito replied to WshfullyShrnkng's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Greek yogurt, eggs, oatmeal, or cream of rice are my common Breakfast foods. Today I had a piece of omelette I made for my husband, with mushrooms, bacon and cheese. It was about a 3-inch square piece. chicken, chili, 1/2 sandwich, Chinese food, Soups and salads are my common lunch choices at work. Today I skipped lunch because I had an early dinner. I did have a handful of almonds though. meat and veggies, fish and veggies, hearty (thick or meat and veggie-laden) soups, and Pasta dishes are common dinner choices for me. Today I had about 4 super-jumbo shrimps grilled and sautéed in a garlic sauce with red and yellow bell peppers, and about 1/4 of an avocado on a tiny green salad. In the PM I also had a chocolate Protein shake to satisfy a sweets craving and to get in a little more protein and Vitamins. After 7 pm ... Nothing! -
no weight loss after 2nd fill
Ladybandito replied to jenwebber's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is not uncommon to stall even early on. I have read about many banders who didn't really start losing until third or even fifth fill, and then others who get to goal with no fill at all. Stick to your foods, add some xtra walking, drink all of your Water ... And go to your next appt even with no loss. Your doc will know what to do. Some of us are slow, slow losers ... But eventually we get to goal anyway! You're down 35, not gaining any, you are doing well. Remember, this is a life-change not a regular diet. You will reach your goal; just keep plugging ahead! X -
B-52 makes some very good points above. I would like to add that I eat meat regularly. Love a small bit of steak. I like chicken, and yes, pork chops too. There is nothing that I CANNOT eat, particularly if I chew well. If you are having issues eating, please, see your doctor or your nutritionist. You are not off to a good start.

Its been 9 days since my lap band surgery.
Ladybandito replied to kassy07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are carb-sensitive, that can really fuel your hunger. When I was newly banded, I really tried to almost eliminate my carb intake; now that I am 2 years out, I can eat carbs with no problem. Keep the faith! -
9 Reasons To Weigh & Measure Your Food
Ladybandito replied to Jean McMillan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Bump. Because it's great info for newbies!! -
Chia seeds or flax seeds or sunflower seeds, for some crunch and fiber. I ALWAYS buy Fage Greek yogurt because I think it tastes the very best, and they sell it packaged with a separate mix-in like cherries, or blueberries, or honey. It's only 17 carbs with their mix-ins, and I usually only use about 1/2 or less. Honey is my favorite, but the seeds are a must for me!

In Need Of Support
Ladybandito replied to and then...'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry to hear this! I am including you in my prayers and hope you find some relief soon. In looking at your "soft" foods, I am wondering if they may be a bit heavy and you may do better with something like mashed potatoes or mashed sweet potatoes or the like? Scallops have always been touchy on my stomach for some reason, and chicken and Beans can sometimes be difficult to digest. eggs, too. Cream of rice hot Cereal tastes good and has Vitamins and Iron in it. It's easy to digest and is fed to babies. I personally love it for Breakfast to this day. Cream of wheat, runny oatmeal, all would give you some nutrition and maybe not be so hard on you? Of course, if your doc says Clear liquids for now, that is what it has to be. See if you can get your appointment moved up sooner so you can discuss this with your surgeon. (Hugs) -
Celebrate.com. Bariatric vitamins that taste good. There, and a very good local health food store.
