Good luck and congratulations.

Hi Amica glad to see you here! The beach trip sounds fun and you'll have a blast I'm sure. It's interesting how other people, especially our significant others react to our weight loss. I think it takes time for them to adjust too. Change is scary. I know a lot of people who would react the way your parents did, that's why I didn't share the journey with many of them. I had one friend the other day ask if I was "well" since she's only seen me heavier. And a few people the other day, who see me a lot, said " wow, you've lost a lot of weight" like it happened overnight. Comments about my weight make me uncomfortable whether they're good or bad (the pressure!)' so I try to let them all slide. Don't feel bad about not exercising and such, a lot of times when I post I'm feeling really motivated from a few days "on" and then tomorrow comes! I think we're all doing an awesome job, whether in spurts or slow and even. Have an awesome weekend, everyone!

I have about 3cc or just under in 10cc band. Banded 1/18/12 and doing well. Haven't had a fill in 2 months and I'm happy with weight loss and feeling of satisfaction between small meals. Lately I've noticed that I don't "feel" my band at all, not in the morning, not at night, nada. I've read so much about so much on here, I see that "loss of restriction" could be erosion or leak... Am I just a worrywart? Can anyone else relate to this?
-
Great news, happy for you!
-
Thank you for the responses. I see the doc next week, and will tell him. I'm hoping it's the weather or something. I reallydon't want another fill yet, but I thought everyone felt morning band tightness and I certainly don't, now anyway.

Yay, Ready4myJouney! Good going Kymie... 80 lbs WOW! I just started a thread under fills asking if anyone else cannot "feel" their band. It just started this week that I noticed I don't "feel" it anymore. I'm not hungry and keeping on track with small meals so I hope this is normal. It's weird not to have the AM tightness, and I read so much about others being so tight... I see the doc on Wed so I'll mention it.

Hi Nicki, hi Chrissylu! Good job on the 5-er Nicki, hope it does stick, and Chrissylu, I'm with you.. Nothing down but nothing up this week, the end of the month is quickly approaching and my goal is not!! AND I'm exercising, darn it! Oh well, it's the long run...:-)

Is it normal for the morning tightness to go away too? I haven't had a fill in 2 months, have lost 17 pounds since the last one, feel satisfied with my one cup of food, but really can't "feel" my band at all, although I did after the first couple of fills. I think I have about 3 cc (or just under) in a 10 cc band -- been very conservative about fills since I'm a worrywart... I'm happy with how I'm eating and doing, but with this new no-restriction feeling, I'm wondering if this is normal too, even in the morning?

What Are My Fellow Bandsters Drinking In The Morning
Ladybandito replied to goingfoit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Water, lots of it. Then I'll have a decaf coffee with cream at about 11 a.m. -
No prob with small bites of steak or lamb, but it is hit or miss with ground beef. Go figure.

Good to hear from you Meredith and Crissylu. I guess we're all just enjoying the mild weather again (I bet this thread picks up again during the winter!) I've got absolutely no news, just wanted to catch up on y'all and post a "hello" since I've been asking everyone else to post!

Yes, well now we know, Horsegirl, and truly, thanks for sharing that cuz I did wonder... Hope everyone is having a great weekend.. Girls, are you not posting because you're off-track ... Or because you're doing so well you don't need our group anymore? LOL, either way, stop in for an update!! Or, oh no, I just thought of this, is it because I just started posting regularly?? I hope not! I need you guys!

It will be just fine! I was super anxious the first time too, and was amazed at how simple it really is.

Met Goal This Morning - 14 Months Out!

Hugs to you! :-) -
Lori, I too have a challenge with my Water intake! Here's what I do ... First thing in the morning right after my feet hit the floor I drink 2 bottles (12 or 16 oz) of water. One after the other. First thing before anything else because really you are thirsty when you wake up whether you realize it or not but if you have decaf coffee or tea or milk or something you won't want the water. Anyway, then I take another bottle with me that I finish before getting to work. Then you just have to fit in a few more during the day and it's not as hard. I hope this helps. Dr. Terry Simpson, I love your website. You were not my surgeon (I chose a local doctor here in CA) but some of the best, most frank and understandable information I've gathered has been from your website. Thank you so very much!!

Yes, give the docs a call before the weekend.

He's gorgeous! Congratulations!

Nicki, I've had one or 2 bad stuck episodes (not in long time tho) and whenever I had one I would go to really soft foods for about 24 hours after because the band seemed irritated and almost everything afterward would get a bit kinked up. You might want to try that too, give the band a little rest and you'll do lots better without an unfill. So great on the losses! WooHoo onderland! Godspeed!

One day at a time, Mimi! You will do great. I started at a low BMI so my loss is pretty slow, but it's the first thing I've ever tried that is consistently down and not up and down. After the first few months the time flies by and the losses (large or small) keep adding up. I wish you the best and congratulations for starting your journey! Just FYI my highest weight ever was almost 250, I was 224 before preop diet, 216 on day of surgery and am now at 172. I was banded in January of this year, and I know the losses could be more if I worked out harder, but I'm tickled with my results thus far! Looking forward to seeing your success!

Had Lap Band Surgery On 9/10/12

Welcome to your new way of life! It is good and it works! -
Congrats to you Horsegirl! Almost there to onederland! I'm at a little plateau. Been hanging at the same weight for a couple of weeks. Time to keep better track of what's going in my mouth again. Happy to say I haven't gained though. My big, big goal is to get to 165 by the end of this month. Since I'm hovering at 172-174, that really isn't too many pounds.. 3 per week or so but I'm going to have to kick cardio to get there. This is a big psychological crossroads for me, probably why I've been hanging at the same weight for a while even though I had been on a downward trend for the last month. I'm trying to check in more often here, cuz I need to keep in the loop with you guys. Speaking of which, how is everyone doing??

143Lbs Gone And 62.5 Inches

Well done!! Congratulations and cheers to you and new opportunities for you ahead! -
Jenna, I'm eight months out and I can still eat them if I take small bites and chew really well. Don't do that often, though, as I feel really full on not much nutrition! Tonight I had about half a cup of mixed tortellini, mushrooms and very soft beef in a little gravy. It was good and filling. I don't do Pasta very much either, but it was just about three tortellinis!
