I cannot even imagine having something stuck for 2 days!!! I would be beside myself for sure. So glad it worked out OK and definitely a reminder to me to be diligent in the chewing and food choices!

What kind of upset stomach? Nausea is not good, do you mean just kind of rumbly or acidy-feeling?
-
Yes, most definitely.I think it's that feeling unbanded people have when they say Oh No, I'm too upset to eat! (I never could understand that before!) It will ease up.

OK everyone, I obviously need some accountability if I'm going to drop any more pounds. Sooooo, I'm going to post my morning weight (no clothes) every Monday rain or shine on this board until New Year's. I'm scheduled for a fill Wed, so I'm hoping that helps Join me, anyone? At least we'll have regular posts on Mondays! :-)

Yay, Nicole!!! That is so cooll :-D Nicki! Just wondering, do any of us live on the East Coast near storm Sandy? I'm in California, so no probs here.

And water, water! Whenever I am really tired I drink water and it really helps.

Hi you guys!! My wifi at home went down and then after it went up again I haven't been able to get the site stay up, much less log on. Then when it was up, I couldn't remember my password because I usually leave the app open, but finally I am here and I've got to tell you I was seriously feeling "cut-off!" and getting emotional about it! Everyone's comments and experiences are more important to me than I even knew, so thank you now, all of you, for posting. Congrats to all of you are doing so well ... And yes, the updated photos are great, everyone looks so good. I'm thinking I will post my own on Jan 18 bandiversary. I've got this thing, since I haven't told anyone except my husband about the surgery that I have to be incognito, but I think by the year that I won't care. Hope so anyway! Like really, what am I hiding from? Interesting comments between JustDoIt and Nicole... I remember the same conversation except reversed a couple of months ago and Nicole seems to be doing well. The great thing about the band is that you don't seem to gain it all back at once when you loosen up on yourself somewhat. That said, I am still hanging at that 172 mark, even fluctuating to 176 last week. Like you, JDI, I toy with the ice cream now and then and I will tell you, all that sugar makes me very hungry the next day. As soon as I cut back to sugar-free, it's manageable again. I guess I've been taking my "break" too. You have been so inspirational to all of us, JDI, I wish I could say something as equally inspirational to you. For now, I'll just say that we're all here and we're in it for the long haul. You're doing great and we'll see this thing through! I am going for a small fill next Wed and really looking forward to it. Have a wonderful week everyone!

Wow what a great resource. Thank you!

Hi guys just checking in, not much to report as I'm hanging at the 172 mark again where I've been for over a month. I did gain about 5 with the ice cream situation, but it's off now and dang it, I just want to see 169 on the scale! It seems so, so close and yet so far. Keep on truckin' on.
-
Amica you are beautiful, great job with the band! JustDoIt and Crissylu, I too was thinking about the "newness wearing off" factor. Now that I'm not "tight" at all, I've been munching a bit more than usual and I got on the ice cream wagon too... Not quite on the ice cream truck although I might as well have been, mind you, but ice cream every evening for the past few day (ok, week) and for me, those sugar calories really add up! Ouch, ouch. I am back on myfitnesspal again, back at it.

In Need Of Lots And Lots Of Prayers...my Big Day Is Tomorrow @ 09020Hrs!!!
Ladybandito replied to NurseLydsss's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You'll do just fine! A little rest and relaxation afterward, and welcome to the club! I was petrified, and like everyone is saying ... It was a piece of cake (no pun intended!) I also didn't sleep hardly the night before which in hindsight was good because I was more than ready to get "knocked out" for the surgery .. I didn't care, I just wanted to sleep! You'll do wonderfully too! -
I love the Total Gym, too. It's actually pretty fun, and even when you're not doing something really hard you are working out. It's weight lifting and card in one.

23 pounds is great! Just to give you some perspective, in my case anyway, I was 226 preop, 214 or 216 on the day of surgery, lost 6 pounds before my first fill, 5 pounds the next month, 5 more the next, and to make a long story short, I am down 42 pounds since mid Jan, and that's 54 down from preop. It all adds up, and it all so worth it. My BMI was pretty low to begin with, don't know what yours is, but I can tell you I am tickled pink with my results and you're starting out great!

Congrats, Lana! Welcome to the journey!

Answering my own question here, saw the doc this morning, he said it's just fine and preferable, even, not to to "feel" the band as long as I'm satisfied -- and not everyone has AM tightness, and even though my band is probably looser, he did not give me another fill.
-
LOL on the "adult" thing, girls, we're all in agreement there! Weird about someone else's phone number, if he told you about it, it would seem like he's trying to get a reaction or show he's desirable too; sure would be better if he talk about it! JustDoIt, men DO overreact, don't they?! All that testosterone! Cool on your trainer friend helping you out, that's priceless. On my spectrum, I went to the doc today. He was pleased with my 17 pound loss over the past two months and agreed that my band was probably looser because of that. But he said, get this, "just because you've lost and the band is looser we don't want to get into a knee-jerk reaction where we adjust again every time you lose weight!" Since I really didn't want another fill because I'm OK with what I'm eating and I'm going on a trip in October and don't want any surprises, I quickly agreed. Later I started thinkining, but isn't that what the band does? IDK, it's confusing sometimes. I DID find out I have 2.8 in my band, 1 cc fill in Feb, 1 cc fill in March, .3 cc fill in April, .3 cc fill in May, and .2 cc fill in July. I asked him if I was supposed to "feel" my band, and he said "no," that it was good as long as I continue to be satisfied with less food. He said it is preferable if I can do it without that "tight" feeling and it's possible for it to still work without it feeling tight in the morning or at all as long as I'm not physically hungry. Whew! Big relief, I can be such a worrywart. Now I just hope I keep losing, because I haven't this past week! Have a great week, everyone! Keep posting. :-D
