Red wine works for me, some of the whites are too crisp and irritate my stomach, and margaritas are a little rough for my band as well. So take it very slow to see how you do. Oh, beware that the alcohol hits you faster because there's not much in your stomach and you're not eating while drinking!!

Down 80 pounds in 7 months (pictures)

Wow! You look great! Way to go! -
Hi All! Happy bandiversary Mis and congrats JDI on the help for the car! That surely would help you sleep better! And sleeping better helps with weight loss too. I've been busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest ... Probably all of us are. I did the 2 day liquids, Nicole, and actually got down to 170.5! I seriously think I have an aversion to the 160s, because no sooner than I saw that weight on the scale, and my husband commented "you look skinny today" (ok, he IS a sweetheart sometimes) then, poof, I ate sweets and crap and went to 174. I've just been playing this same old record. Now that spring is on the way (to me, spring is on its way starting Jan 2!) ... I am back to logging and working out. Oh, and I have a fill appt tomorrow, so I think I'll get one. I'm still at 2.8 in a 10cc so I think I've got room. Maybe another .2 for an even 3. I DID have a NSV, though. I have these high top tennies with buckles on the sides. I bought them at a discount store when I was my heaviest and for the life of me I couldn't buckle them. I couldn't bend over to do it, I couldn't sit down because of where the buckles were and I couldn't reach. I wore them once and had hubby buckle them (embarrassing) and explained to him I got them at outlet store and it must be because the buckles were put on wrong where no one could reach! Anyway... I wore them yesterday... Bent down, reached over, and buckled them!!! I guess it wasn't a design flaw after all! Too funny. Have a super week everyone.

I would say to wait until you return and until then just be careful on what you eat. You will have the band for a long, long time so there is really no rush to fill. You can begin in earnest when you get back. Your doc knows best tho, maybe a tiny fill is in order?
-
So finally getting your first fill?! Whoo-hoo and the journey begins! Fills are pretty simple really, don't take long at all. My doc gives me a numbing shot first over the port, you feel a prick with that. Then he feels for the port area, sticks the needle in (you don't feel that) and presto, done. I drink some water he hands me so we can make sure it goes down fine, and then I'm on my way. Prob 20 minutes tops including the questions on how I'm doing. No worries!!

Hi everyone, been super-busy like everyone else, but checking in. Still holding at 172 which I guess is OK. Have a doc appt in a couple weeks. Nicole, hope you are feeling great again... Pneumonia is serious stuff. I like your idea of New Year's liquids. I've done that a couple days this week myself to make up for the horrid aftermath of the office Christmas party. I did so many things wrong that day. First off I was tired and decided to have a caffeinated peppermint mocha on my way there. It did pep me up since I haven't had caffeine in a year! Then I ate spicy food and drank margaritas. I was in a world of hurt the next day with my stomach. I will not be drinking alcohol for New Year's, thank you, it is not worth it! So onward and downward, wishing all of you a very joyous and prosperous New Year! Bandiversaries are coming up!

Meredith!!!!! So glad to hear you are OK ... Dealing with a whole lot, bit OK. We were all worried about you, with Sandy and all. Glad you are back on. I'm so very tired tonight, just checked in on everyone's posts and will reply more tomorrow, but just wanted to acknowledge that Meredith is here!! :-) BTW, I am 172, down from last week by 2 (thanks you guys for the support!!) but still up from my lowest 170. Puh-leeeese! Come on 160s, you're there somewhere, I know it.

A much needed post this time of year. Thank you. -
Good news, Jachut!

A very short, low cut, deeply backless New Year's dress. And a tight yoga outfit.

Hello everyone, Sorry to read about the stuck episodes by some of you. Although kind of funny to read about, I know they're no fun! Especially on the highway, Nicki, that would be the worst. Eating in the car seems to be the one place I am not comfortable eating, even now when I don't feel tight at all, must be the stomach position or something. Chrissylu and Amica, you guys are just rockin along. Very inspirational and we all need that. Amica, I hear you about the goal sabatoging, I need to look a lot more into that issue. Nicole, staying the same weight is pretty awesome in my book this time of year, even with the cookie dough. Congrats on your new ways for sure. I didn't post my weight Monday because I was up 1 and thought I would post today, but dang it, I'm up another 1. Instead of waiting until tomorrow to weigh again I'm owning that I am up 2 pounds again this week. I would be even more upset if I was running the treadmill like NJ2NC is doing and I should be, but I know exactly what I'm doing wrong Cookies, here and there. pizza on the run. Carbs, carbs and more carbs. Not enough Water by a long shot. Grazing on the junk piled all over at work instead of eating a good meal. And on top of all that, not getting in nearly enough Protein for the past week because I felt that would "save calories" from the chips and cookies. Ugh, just writing this makes me embarrassed and I can see the foolishness of what I have been doing. Soooo, tomorrow is a new day .. I've shared my confession ... I am only up about 4 pounds from my lowest (and not 20 like when I used to sabotage "diets") and I'll start again new. I KNOW if I could get to 168-169 a whole new enthusiasm would break out for me, but like Amica said, it is probably best to just stick to the rules and let the goals come on their own. This is a rather long post, and I hope not too much of a downer for y'all, but I had to own it, and that's been my experience this week.

Very happy for you! How great to be so young and to make this change now!

Don't know the answer to that, but I've seen lots on here like that. I've thought it was on purpose! -

What Happens At Goal? Un-Fill :-(
Ladybandito replied to BQT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmmmmm, I certainly hope that is not common. Personally, I am hoping to keep my band at least five or 10 years, and possibly then consider going it alone. -
