Hi All. Rather bummed myself lately; kind of makes you not want to share on the thread until the tides change, but hey, we are all human. I am scheduled for a fill on Wed and so badly want one, if nothing else, just to shake things up a bit! I'm only at 2.8 in a 10 band, so I think there's some room! In the meantime, could someone PLease put the Easter candy in another room?!

Hi All. SueBee, sorry you lost your friend, and I so agree with your comment to love your friends and family NOW. You just never know what is in store for sure. My husband had a heart attack this week. He's fine now, with some heart stents placed during a four-day stay in the hospital. So didn't see that coming. Very scary and very much an eye opener for us both to take as much care as we can with our health. I haven't weighed this week, although I should because I certainly didn't eat much hospital food and got tons of walking in... Where I lacked though was with drinking water .. I've been trying to make up for that today. Love and hugs to all of you .. And your loved ones!

The Eight Golden Rules - Lap Band Videos by Dr. Paul O'Brien
Ladybandito replied to Alex Brecher's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for posting these links, Alex. I had seen a couple of them, but didn't bookmark them ... It's great to have the links in one spot where we can find them. EVERYONE should watch these. Great information presented in a way that's easy to understand. Thank you again. -
Rejection of band/nickel allergy

I'm also allergic to nickel. Banded 15 months ago with only success! -
Questions I wished I had asked.....
Ladybandito replied to erinkenben's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't know some surgeons put ports in various areas. I would ask where the port will be (just out of curiosity). Also whether they put any fill in at the time of surgery (mine didn't) -
No one can tell ive lost weight! Gggrrr!
Ladybandito replied to koolkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Koolkel, they'll notice... Just keep going. I was amazed at how long it took people to say anything to me, but probably because in years past I've been so up and down, no one wanted to comment AGAIN and then see the weight back the following month. Also the loss is so slow and steady, it just kind of creeps up on people. People who comment mostly to me are folks who haven't seen me in a while. -
I've eaten sushi, but certainly can bot eat much... Maybe two slices and you really have to chew very very well. I think it's OK for a special treat but not good enough for a meal. I've switched to sashimi with no rice and seaweed salad.

Hi All ... I am still here, just nothing much to report. Maintaining the same weight, 168-172 depending on if I have carbs or not, and like ome of you I have been munching on the things I am trying to stay away from ... Quite a lot. I thought I had a fill apt this month, but it's not until April. I was pretty sick with a cold this month so that threw me off track since I crave comfort foods. Having a little difficult time deciding if I have head hunger or real hunger lately, so I need to get back on 3 meals a day, instead of little bits here and there. The weather here is picking up, so I'm optimistic that my mood and energy level will too. Nicole, you've been doing a great job overall, no need to be so hard on yourself right now. You will get through this and come on the other side even better. Nicki, you hang in there too. I think it's great how you go to the Y and Zumba and everything. That is something I aspire to do but my commute schedule makes it very difficult. How's everyone else doing?

I'm over a year out, and have not been sick in any way til now. Sore throat, fever, sinus congestion, etc. Can I take Nyquil? I can't remember... I'm sur there's a thread on here that answers this already, I'm just feeling too bad to search! Thx for any replies.

Chissylu, Otaknam, Ready, Kimmee ... So glad we're all continuing this together. SueBee, you are a great addition to our group. Breen, welcome to you! Nicole, I hope you are feeling better ... Have you tried a tanning bed for one or two sessions? I too am in the doldrums this month .. Physically sick with a cold on top of it all .. And I'm going to try my old trick of tanning bed light therapy this week. I know tanning beds are horrible, but a couple sessions can work wonders. I don't know if it's the heat or the light, but it usually boosts me up, and it's not food!

Alcohol tears my stomach up, be very careful to start with. Red wine is the least problematic for me, I no longer drink hard liquor because the time I did it caused pain and acid reflux. I don't want that for sure!

Lap band and thyroid
Ladybandito replied to phenix1824's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, and to answer your question, I don't think it has been slower to lose with the band, I just had a lower BMI than many to start with.
