First Apt with Tricare June 17th. Was immediately approved. Went through process and could have had sugery as soon as beginning of Sept. For deployment reasons had surgery September 29th, 2010. It was not mandatory that we had to do a pre op diet. I did though for 7 days which my surgeon said that whatever I did was good because my liver looked great. I had a SEVERE reaction to the dressings and steri strips and op site tape. It was HORRIBLE. My whole stomach, torso, back, sides, abdominal fold area and inside of legs were covered in allergic reaction rash. I am 12 days out and STILL taking meds to clear it up. I have had no isses with the band itself (knock on wood thank god). But the reaction was sheer misery and has made this surgery and recovery horrible. This has been worse then my C Section a year ago. I did have a reaction with my C section but nothing like this. I have lost around 21 lbs just SINCE my surgery. Hopefully I can keep it up. Its been a roller coaster of emotions but I pray that I can continue to succeed and stay healthy.
