This is my first post, hopefully many more will follow with stories of pounds and inches lost. I got the call today from my surgeon's office that the procedure had been authorized (finally) by my insurance company. This has been a long road for me, starting November, 2009, with the first seminar I attended, then the psychological/nutritional testing, etc. The cherry on top was to find that I have to have my gall bladder removed before the Lap Band surgery. Yikes! That happens in June, I recover, and then go on a fasting, liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to LB surgery. It's all worth it to me, as I have struggled with this weight for years. My husband, who has a different insurance carrier, is also working toward a surgery date. I am excited, nervous, but most of all filled with hope for a new thinner and healthier future.
