Hi my name is Sabina, i am 1 1/2 weeks away from my first consultation at St Thomas's in london for a gastric band on the Nhs. I have been over weight all my life and as like many have tryed everything to lose weight. You name it, i've done it.From weight watchers to fat camps in Germany.  The most I was able to lose was 8stone 7lbs at Slimming World.I asked my Gp last sept for a gastric band after my health got worse , eventhough I am frighted of any kind of op.I gave up smoking at the same time as I read that it was one of the cond. I havent smoked since that day.I chose St Thomas's after my appl. got lost by my GP surgary and  St Richards in Chichester ( 20min from where I live) closed there list fornew ref. I am hoping that I will be excepted for the op. I want to live my life not watch others live theirs. I am having health problems that people usally have as oap's.
