Hi!Im 26 and a junior doctor in Surrey, UK. At the moment Im 16st 6lbs and 5 ft 9 giving me a BMI of 34. I have PCOS and have quite a problem with my weight. The heaviest I have ever been is 17st 3lbs (post break-up with a boyfriend!) and I have managed to get the weight down to a fairly respectable 13st before now.I have been on every diet going - some have worked, some haven't and I struggle with what to eat when Im on call.I eat quite healthier food choices wise but I eat too larger portions and comfort eat. Im insulin resistant and eating a bowl of pasta brings me out in the sweats!!I had an initial consultation with Dr Ashton at Healthier Wiight last week and I am seriously thinking about the SILS procedure with Prof Favretti in Manchester. Im not sure of the long term implications of a silicon band in me for the next 50 years but I think my potential dodging of diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol should counteract this. Plus I will be the person I am in my head and not get that little bit of a shock when I look in the mirror!Would be keen to hear from anyone in London, Surrey or Sussex or in a similar situation or in fact just about anybody!Hope everyone is doing well!Donna xxx
