  1. Hi Raintree and Bullwinkle, it's good to here from you. Now we have to keep this thread going. Raintree I have Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and my Dr. office told me that they were the best for approval. Bullwinkle what do you have to do now? Do you have to see the psyc. again, is there any way you can see a different Dr.

    October 2006 Bandsters!

I hope everyone had a very merry christmas. I didn't meet my Christmas challenge, missed it by 2# but I'm ready for a new one. Valentine's day sounds like a good one. So when do we want to start, Jan 1st, or 2nd? I have a feeling that 2007 is going to bring many good :clap2: changes for all of us and I can't wait.

Chrispygal I know how you feel, this has been one of my out of control weeks but I still am eating a lot less than I used to, I still feel aggravated at myself because I whish that I could stay on track better. I'm going to weigh myself in the morning and see if I done any damage. I hope not because I only had 2# to go for the Christmas challenge. Way to go Christine, you met the christmas challenge and I am so happy for you that you had a good time being all pretty upped and felt good about yourself. Just think what the new year is going to bring. I can't wait.

Hi Turkiye and welcome, this is a great place to get support and talk to other people that know's what your going through. I did about the same as you and at first I was discouraged but my Dr. was really pleased with my progress. I am telling myself that hey at least I am losing and not gaining, which is what I normally do this time of year. I am 2# away from the 10# christmas challenge goal and I am really happy, I know that I can make it by christmas.

Went to the DR. Monday and had my second fill. I lost 7# since last month. I was discouraged at first but then I thought at least I didn't gain any and I did go on a 7 day cruise, so I guess it wasn't that bad at all. I have lost 5# towards the christmas challange and I have 5# to go.

Jodi, I'm glad that they figured out it was your gall bladder and now you can get to feeling better. Take it easy and you'll be up and running in no time.
  9. My 18 yr.old self would be surprised that I weigh this much, I always thought I was heavy in school and I only weighed 119# my senior year. She would be surprised that my marriage only lasted 5 yrs and I never got remarried, that I lived my life through my two boy's, but she would be proud of how my boy's turned out. She would be happy that I am finally putting me first after 42 yrs. and doing something about my health and learning to live for me and not other people. And I think she would be proud of how I stood my ground on what I felt was right no matter what.

After my banding I wasn't hungry for the first week then I started eating more food and I was hungry most of the time. I had my first fill 5 wks out and it helped but am still hungry at times. I'm not starving and I have made myself watch my food portions. I eat 1 cup of food at a time, three meals a day and one snack. Sometimes I think the hunger is in my brain more than in my stomach. I also don't drink anything 30 min. before or after I eat and this has seemed to help alot. I am very happy with my band and I know that this was the right choice for me.

    October 2006 Bandsters!

Hello everyone, I haven't been on for a couple of weeks, vacation and computer problems. I went on a 7 day cruise and I didn lose but I didn't gain any either I was really happy about that. I ate good but not as much as I did the last time I went ( I gained 11 # on my last cruise) I also went to the gym this time and we walked so much. I am scheduled for a fill on Monday, and I am ready for one. I'v lost 7# since Nov 16th. I hope everyone has a good weekend.
  14. I'm sending some hugs Pinky, I know that it's hard today but it is going to be worth it. And by Cristmas time rolls around you will beable to eat some of your favorites. Have you tried Gas-X for your gas? My doctor recommended it and it did wonders, also walking seemed to help. I hope this helps some. Just remember your not alone.

The 10# Christmas Challenge has officially started :clap2: if that's ok with everybody else. I think we should count the weight we lose as of today. Does everyone want to check in every Sunday or Monday and give their weight loss for the week. I think it would be neat if we could keep a running total of all of our weight loss combined. I think we would be surprised by how much it will be. I won't beable to check in next week because I will be on vacation but I will check in the following week.

Hello OHIO, I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day. It's been one month today since I was banded so I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 6# since I had my first fill on Monday. I couldn't believe it. My clothes that I tried on last week for my upcoming cruise were a little snug but this morning they fit just right. Hopefully this keeps up and I will be one happy person. Beck I am so glad that you got approved, my advice for you is to look at things on the upside and realize that it is going to be different. By having this surgery this is a door opening for you to lose the weight and become healthy and live life like it should be lived. I also recommend that you listen to what your dr. tells you to do. You will see better results and not run the risk of becoming sick. And lastly I would say to relax and enjoy the holidays and get ready for the new year and the new you.

    October 2006 Bandsters!

I hope everyones weekend is going good. I am so excited!:clap2: I weighed myself this morning and I lost 6# since Monday when I got my first fill. I couldn't believe it. I hope it continues to go like this. It has been one month today since my surgery. I have lost 22# and I feel that it has been pretty easy. I have had some struggles but I knew that I would and I know that there are going to be other struggles but I will get through them also.

    Why not admit to surgery...

I have not told anyone but my parents, not even my 2 grown sons. I guess it's because I have failed at so many other tries that I want to keep this to myself. But I feel that this is a personal issue and if you feel comfortable telling people then by all means do so but if you don't want to then that's ok also.

    EVIL comes in many forms....

I'm so sorry that you had to listen to some simple minded person. Please don't let it get you down, I know that's easier said than done, but if you let it get you down then he has won and there is no way in H... that he deserves to win. "HUGS"

    October 2006 Bandsters!

Hi everyone, I got my first fill Monday and it wasn't bad at all. I didnt have to drink the barium I only had to drink water to see if it would go down. I can tell a little difference but not a drastic difference. I have to watch how fast I eat and how big of bites more than before but I do feel a little more in control of my eating. How does everyone feel about starting our christmas challenge on Sunday? and report back every Sunday or Monday on how we all are doing? The support here is so great, I like knowing that I can come here and talk to people that are going through the same thing.

    October 2006 Bandsters!

Hey count me in for the challenge:) Kimberly I got my first fill yesterday and I am going on a cruise a week from Saturday. I'll just eat smaller portions and chew chew chew, at least that's what I'm telling myself, but I know how I am and I am going to have to give myself a little talk every morning and hope that my brain decides to listen. I didn't have any problems with eating or drinking yesterday so hopefully it will go smoothly. I did get fuller quicker so that's a big PLUS. About the challenge, should we say how much we lost everyweek or wait until Christmas? I'm ready to get this challenge started:clap2:

Hi everyone, I went for my first fill yesterday, it wasn't bad, just a little prick and then it was done. I gained 3 tenths of a pound, I knew I shouldn't of drank that Iced latte before I went :heh: but I don't think that I'm going to worry about that, I am eating better than before the band and I know that it will come off. I started back at Curves yesterday and it felt good. Now just keeping it up is another story. Oh and about my fill, at first he only added 1cc then he realized that I had the bigger band so he added 3cc more. I thought I could feel the band moving when he added the extra but I'm not for sure. I didn't have any trouble last night with eating or drinking and I did get fuller faster.
