Hi my name is Gabrielle. I am 22 years old.  I have been "big" (heavy, overweight, whatever you will) my whole life.  The only time I've ever been "under" the 100 percentile for growth would be when I was born (7 lbs).  I cannot remember a time in my life when I wasn't looking for clothes in a "different" section.  I want to be able to someday walk into any store and be able to try on any selection of clothes without having to ask, "Do you have a plus size section?" This is by no means to say I am ashamed of my weight. I am not ashamed of being big.  I think the media puts way too much emphasis on our "size" and the amount of pressure on young adults/kids is terrible.  I cannot count the number of times I cried when I was in my teens because I didn't "look the part".  I fully believe that GOD made us the way we are supposed to be for a reason.  However, when your weight begins to stop you from doing certain things and you have multiple health problems because of the weight then I believe that it is profitable to go through different avenues of help to lose the excess weight.  Have I dieted? Yes plenty.  The BEST best "diet" I ever did was under with a doctor's guidance would be the Atkins (low carb).  I lost approximately 40 lbs and felt great.  I can't wait to feel that way again! Right now I am a little over 300 lbs, 5'7'' and I am feeling aches and pains I don't think I should be until I am much, much older. My goal is not a specific "weight" but definitely a dress size of 14/16 would be nice. Right now because of my weight I have PCOS, pre-diabetes, and sleep apnea.  I use a CPAP and it has done wonders for me and I never would have thought I was suffering from a lack of proper oxygen until I used the machine.  If you haven't gotten tested I would recommend it!!  It's like night and day really.  That is another goal would be to not have to have a CPAP for the rest of my life.  But if it isn't so, I can live with it.  Well I'm going to end this with one of my favorite verses from the Holy Scriptures: "Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings & not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows." Luke 12:6-7
God Bless~Gabrielle
