I've been overweight for all of my adult life and most of teenage years. I had started having health problems and I knew it was time for me to make a change in my life. Back in 2003 I had made the decision to have Gastric Bypass Surgery, but I was having a difficult time getting approval. I gave up on that idea. I started researching the lapband and felt that this was for me. I had my surgery as an out patient and was home by 4pm that same day. It was very little pain other than the gas, which I immediately went to Walgreens and purchased GasX. My journey with the lapband is a slow one I think. I've only lost roughly 40 lbs so far. I actually lost 15 of those pre surgery. I can't eat a lot and I vomit a lot. My stomach is very picky now about what I put in it. I don't know why I haven't lost more weight. I have dropped 2 sizes. I started out in size 24 and I can now wear size 20s. I know I haven't been doing my exercises as I should have and that may be the reason for my slow weight loss. I have been at a stand still for about 3 weeks now. Sometimes it depresses me but I know I will start losing again. I can say I am happy I made the decision to have lapband surgery. I only wish I had made it sooner.
