Hi Jill Mine was through St. Vincents-I know alot of emails going back and forth keep talking about them being a "Gastric Mill" per say, but they DO do lapbands also. I was very pleased with my surgeon, the hospital and the results. I am about 4 years out I think, maybe longer. I've lost track of the year I had it done now! I'm 120 pounds down and feel great. You will love the band. Keep going-2 pounds is 2 pounds you will never see again!! Buffy

Thank you for your email Cindy. I am very happy you and the other banders are successful! As I said per my email, I was responding to several private emails I had received and I was setting the record straight per MY status. So please do not feel it is necessary to send emails to me on your thoughts about your surgeon. I am happy that your happy and doing well. People are free to do as they please. Keep up the good work! Buffy

If you are worried about money-you can go to Obesity Help - Weight Loss, Surgery, Support Groups, Forums, Surgical Procedures and look at other banding doctors in Indiana and also look at their credentials. They may or may not be cheaper but it will give you a comparison to go by. Good luck!

Cat:clap2: Good for you! It definately sounds like you are on the right track! If you need anything else, let me know. Try to start logging your food by now:hungry: . It will be easier when you have to do it later. Eat on small plates. Ask your doctor's office for a name of a fellow bander that might be willing to start an email correspondence with you:help: . That in turn might start a great friendship and/or small support group in itself for you! And last but not least-keep believing in yourself. YOU can do this. Stay motivated!!!!! :girl_hug: Even when it gets rough, you can pull through it!! Keep me posted, Big hugs, Tanya

Hi There Indy girls!! I was not trying to say anything bad about any other doctors, honest!! I was just wondering why all the Indy girls were going out of state for their bands when there was a wonderful Indy doctor here doing the band that's all...close to home, fully qualified, just curious! And also to answer the question to the one young lady's question about how I took off the 118 pounds with my band- I followed the rules-honestly-that's how I did it! I have found if you follow the first year then you are good to go. You have to REALLY want to have the lifestyle change and to stick to it. You cannot expect the band to do all the work. You have to expect YOU to help the band work. It's really that simple. There is no big secret to it. And yes, it's hard at first with the liquid diet. But come on now, none of us starved to death. We just thought we were. It's mind over matter and how bad you want to lose the weight. So, that's how I lost and have kept off the 118 pounds and have gone from a woman's 24 to a petite 2. (and I'm only 5 foot tall by the way). And no, I do not have the loose saggy skin either-everyone asks that question! YOU CAN DO IT!!! Tanya -
