I had a swallow test the day after surgery it was so cool to watch the liquid flow thru the band and into my stomach...was nasty as heck tho... -
Your Doc's book sucks!!! i was allowed broth, jello, popsicles anything clear for the first week then full liquids the next week cant wait to puree some denisons chili ha ha ha:drool:

I'm only 5 days post op and i'm in hell! hungry all the time and am sick of broth! cant have full liquids till thursday this sucks! :cursing:

I'm in hell as well...only 5 days post-op and I am starving I cant even look at another bowl of broth with out wanting to cry! :cursing: -
Fish sticks may be too dry make sure you moisten them well...

I was doing a low carb pre-op diet and when i get to eat food again then i will do a low carb diet as well i just liked how i felt doing low carb i had more energy and felt lighter...:cursing: -

Well that's my question do we need to totally stay way from sugar now that we have the band? I am out of splenda and would like to have a cup of coffee can i put sugar in it or will it do some kind of damage?? Zen :thumbup: -
Hello everyone!! I'm back and banded! had a wonderful trip to Mexico had a wonderful time at the hospital everyone was super nice and took care of me very well. Aside from shoulder pain I am doing very well. I was expecting much worse but Praise God I am not having nausea, abdominal pain or anything else. I do have mild port pain only when i cough or laugh. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes

I have been banded for 5 days now and was wondering if I should change my bandages. They are still stuck very well and don't know if I should force them off or not and let them "breath"....any advice is really appreciated... Zen :thumbup:

i only had 4 insicions 3 have these little pink strips on them and the port one has a big gauze over it and dont know if i should take the gauze off or not.

Thanks for the info my doc said ok to the coffee just no cream they gave me splenda in the hospital and that is usually the only thing i use... -
hi all it is now 4 days post-op for me and i have one major problem...I CAN NOT BURP! I so wish i could to help get rid of all this gas it just sits in my tummy and then goes to my shoulder. I can flatulate (fart) but no burp and it really hurts if i try. Will I ever be able to burp again??? Has anyone had this problem? If only i could burp then I know that I wouldn't be having so much shoulder pain :thumbup:

i was banded on Aug 26th and the day after surgery i totally broke down while having breakfast with my husband... all i could eat was broth and jello and he was able to eat all that he wanted i felt like i had lost my best friend, here i was in pain and had no way of comforting myself the way i used to. my hubby got so sad he quit eating and that made it worse. but every day is getting a little better. i so cant wait till i can have more than just clear liquids :thumbup: Good luck to you things will get better!

Hello i saw your message and saw that we were banded on the same day...I still have a lot of gas/shoulder pain but other than that i feel really good little port pain as well sure am hungry for some real food it sucks liquid in liquid out (sorry kinda gross) hope you are doing well as well...zen

Hello all... i was just banded on Aug 26th and was wondering how long on average does the gas pain and shoulder pain last...Gas x doesnt seem to help and walking is just so i dont get stiff....any other advise? thanks Zen

I could only hope for a burp....I am 4 days post op and can not burp to save my life i have so much gas and no way to get rid of it :thumbup:

from what i understand...I just got banded last thursday and havent slimed yet but it is when you get stuck and your mouth waters alot to try and help dislodge the food that is stuck...
