How exactly does your port flip or move if it is supposedly sewed on to your abdomen??? -
I got that the fist few days after surgery i think it was all the gas pressing on my diaphram i'm back to normal now 9 days post op... Good luck hope your back to feeling normal soon.

As most of you have read I am 6 days post op and had my surgery on the 26th of Aug. I have always had left shoulder pain but today parts of my left arm are swollen and painful as if there were balloons under the skin...Is That Gas?? If it is, is there a way to get rid of it? Or do i have to just wait it out?

Hi all just a little update...it turns out that my IV site got a little infection and that is what was causing the pain redness and swelling....so now i'm taking antibiotics and forgot to ask for liquid and have to cut up the pill into 4 tiny pieces....Oh well I hope to be feeling better soon...:biggrin: -
Hi Lynda....Glad that you are feeling a little better. my gas pain is gone thank goodness but i developed an infection on my hand where the IV was so i need to take antibiotics. I have advanced to pureed food which is wonderful. i do miss food as well my port is the biggest incision under my left breast and is still a little tender as well...have a great weekend as well.

I just took some antibiotics and i had to cut it up in 4 pieces but it feels like it is sitting in my throat!! no amount of water will get rid of the feeling yikes does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it??? :biggrin:

I'm doing well the only pain I have is this weird pain in my left bicept and my left hand where the IV was. I dont know if it is an infection or just more gas....I am now on pureed food and am addicted to this cheddar broccoli Soup I made yesterday. I know I need to increase my Water intake but honestly I get so full off of my Protein drink and soup that I have to force myself to drink water, at least i think I got 1 liter in today :biggrin:

No you shouldnt have it forever.. I was banded on Aug 26th and my left shoulder pain is gone....

Good Info Betsy... I had a flouro done the day after surgery to see how the liquid was flowing and my doc does all his fills via flouro so i know they wont be going blind either... -

Why do they get upset? YOUR PAYING THEM! If anything you should get upset with them if they pressure you to lose weight. The whole purpose of the band is to get filled so you will lose weight not just sit on your stomach doing nothing. -

I was in Hell during my clear liquid only week...I was always hungry but could only drink a little at a time then get hungry again 30 min later. Now that I am on full liquids i feel better and am not so hungry anymore -
Hello I had a wonderful time in Mexico I had Dr. Jose Rodriguez at the INT hospital in TJ. every one was super nice and the hospital was very clean and bright. I have never had such good care here in the US as i had in Mexico. So far I am about 7 days post op and am doing well as far as can be expected. i still have a lot of gas pain especially in my left shoulder and arm, port area is tender and I have moved on to full liquids. I have lost almost 10lbs now and am starting to feel like my self again. Good Luck hope to talk to you soon...

You know so far i am happy with my decision. I still am healing and cant say for 100% that i would do it again but give me a few months and i probably would. -

Hi I was banded on Aug 26th and i too have had the same feelings. Nothing really prepares you for what it will be like after surgery. But I have to keep reminding myself that this pain/sadness will pass it's all a matter of healing. I have had pretty bad gas and port pain but no nausea. -
Can i ask why must it be sugar free???

I was advised against taking advil or any NSAIDS....you may wanna check with your Doctor to make sure it's ok. Advil and such can cause stomach damage so i was told...I take liquid tylenol and it helps you gotta watch that as well cuz taking to much of it can cause liver damage....:biggrin:
