Hi, All! I'm Steph, 36, 5'2" 315# last trip to the doctor. I've had weight issues all my life. I was the 'chubby' child, the 'plump' preteen and teenager. I got married at 19 and took a nosedive straight into a major depression. I put on over 100 pounds in less than a year. The activities that had kept me merely plump as a teen, were now gone and my body was paying the price in spades. By 25 I'd had two babies (16 months apart), my weight had only increased during that time. I've tried it all over the years. The weight just comes back with a single-minded persistance, plus some. I wish I could be a fraction as tenacious as the weight. :) But, at 36, high blood pressure, menstruation problems, flirting with diabetes, and just tired of carrying all this weight around, I find it time for something more. My kids are now 13 and 12, old enough to know and recognize the dangers of my weight, they are concerned for my well being. That's the heartbreaking part for me! My kids shouldn't have to worry about me like they do. Anyways.... :)Weight on, more weight on....won't come off....sick of it now! Hmmm, I think that about covers it!!! :) Now it's time to do something more.I finally called my insurance today to find out if the Lap Band is covered. It is. However, there are clinical requirements that must be met, they are currently in the mail to me. Should be interesting to see what's on that list. In the meantime, I'm doing more research on the Lap Band. Any information is welcome. I've researched the other weight loss surgeries and they are just too invasive for my tastes. I like the less invasiveness, smaller incisions, better and shorter recovery time.:)
