I know exactly how you feel. I had my first fill Monday (2cc's) and feel no difference. I really am having to police myself. I do not understand why some people cannot swallow liquids after a fill. My doctor's office made me stay for a while and sip on Water to make sure it went down okay. Melonie

MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!
MelBanded replied to MarcyLoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first Post Op visit will be Monday. (banded 03/30/2011). Finally feeling like my self again. Most of the soreness is gone. -
I was banded March 30th and had a hernia repair as well. Apparently, the hernia repair is quite common along with the band surgery. I am still on liquids and everything seems to be coming along as expected. However, I am still extremely sore in and around the port area. When does this improve? It feels like it is near my rib area and is making work very uncomfortable. It is better when I stand but doing book keeping and data entry I am sitting alot during the day. I am trying to get up and walk a bit about every hour. Also, still not sleeping well. Thanks.

MsKate, it's nice to know you are not alone isn't it? as for your comment "Losing my mind" I don't mind as long as I lose some weight at the same time. You just have to laugh about things sometimes, even if it hurts the port area. My mom about killed me this morning. She is recently home recovering from a hip replacement and accidentally brushed her teeth with her antibiotic cream. I thought I was going to split my incision! Melonie -

Just banded on 03/29/2011
MelBanded replied to Tammy:)'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Tammy, I'm new also. My name is Melonie and I was banded March 30th. I am bruised and have some red areas with just a small amount of drainage. Today is the first day I have been hungry and also my first day back to work. My stomach has growled all day. Can't wait for some cottage cheese or something thicker than Protein shakes and Soups. -

Don't give up! I was denied three times and finally was assisted by Lindstrom Obesity Advocates and was approved about 2 weeks ago. I was banded last Wednesday, March 30th. I met all the guidelines and criteria set forth by my insurance plan. I think insurance companies want you to give up. The first two denials were asking for additional medical documentation that was previously provided and the third denial stated it was for cosmetic reasons, even though my BMI was above 40. -
I was in your shoes! I was banded Wednesday and was sick all night long. Just the smell of my husband and daughter's food was making me sick. Called the docs office first thing the next morning and had some anti-nausea meds called in. They worked great. They told me to try to sip on crushed ice and about 2 ounces of approved Fluid every 2 to 3 hrs. I hope you are feeling better. What a difference a day or two will make.
