Don't do it, don't do it.... I've been doing great and dropping weight consistently. Happy as a Tuna in a can until this morning.... I was scrubbing the bathroom floor like a madman and got to where the scale is. After cleaning the thing I thought, "Hmmm.... I'll just take a peek..." (since I seem to be the only one that cleans the damn thing). So I stepped on... Big mistake.... A little background. Up to this point I have been religious about weighing myself once a week on the same day at the same time and that's it! That is until this morning... Up 3lbs. GAWK!!! spoiled my whole morning. I had to remind myself why I only do it once a week. I can go up and down 5 lbs in the same day. Up 2 down 4, etc... Drive myself crazy if I let myself obsess over it. I had to laugh at myself and thought I would share with you all and hope others can relate. Will

Wow! Holy cow those results are great! Will -
Sorry you felt ill at ease thinoneday. I think I know the thread you are referring to. I've been around for awhile and trust me that is not the norm. We just get some cranky posters sometimes. Some people get really emotional and then loose it. I think a lot of people come on here in the early days of their journey and but after that they just drift away. I love this site over the others. Easy to read and the people here seem more caring and genuine. You can also ask the most bizarre questions and someone is always willing to step up and take the time to help. Judgement is rarely passed. Hope it helps. Will

You looks great Jane. You look great as a blonde. You've come a long way! Did you walk into any walls in that burka thingy? It was too funny. That picture made my morning. Will -

Post Op issues? Rib pain and sunken areas
citizenwill replied to TX HS FB Coach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow... I have that exact same pain. I thought I pulled a muscle or something. It was really killing me the other night so out of desperation I took two Zantac 75mg and half a hour later the pain was gone. I dunno if my stomach acid pools in that area or if it's a backlog in my intestines or something. It did work for me though. Will -
Seats on the plane
citizenwill replied to SouthernSleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You'll be fine. If you don't care about looking out the window you might request an isle seat that way you can move around more and cant get up and go potty faster. I prefer it to getting mashed up against a window. Will -
Hi Kathy, I've been following your posts closely because you came on board about 1 month after I did. I didn't feel like the noob anymore. :cursing: I can't touch on your friend situation but at 2 weeks I also hit a stall. I knew about the 3 week stall but it happened at 2 for me. I thought I would be the one that failed to loose weight. I had tried for years to get past the 220's and wasn't able too. Sounds a lot like your 270's. A few days later I beat the 220's and am now looking forward to breaking the 200's. I realized I needed to stop thinking about as another diet those old thoughts are sneaky and hard to get over. Start thinking like the thin person that you are now and don't beat yourself up. Hope it helps. Will

Your absolutely right. In the end it's your decision and your a big girl. Funny what you said about your siblings. All of mine sound the same. I am the one who is constantly sorting out their messes and the only one that made a success of myself. In the end I only answer to me. You go girl! Will

Maybe it's just lack of information. I chose not to tell any of my family members, except one sister whom I am closest with. Because the procedure is still relatively new perhaps your mother is confusing it with one of the more extreme procedures? I almost had to draw a diagram for my sister until she got what I was talking about. Now she is wanting the surgery.. lol.. My mother is to old now and I know she would not understand. Plus, I am her youngest son and she will automatically assume the worst and most horrible outcomes (being a protective mother). In her case ignorance is bliss. I agree with Mini, maybe make your mom part of your journey so she can get used to the idea and ease her mind. Your brother may be jealous or just be being a stinker or maybe he is just feeding off your mothers reaction. Will

Just one peek.... what could it hurt.
citizenwill replied to citizenwill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I usually weigh myself first thing on Friday morning to give myself a smile over the weekend. I had also eaten some salty prosciutto over the weekend so it's probably just Water weight. I should of known better but I gave in to temptation. So no more peeking for me. I get too scale obsessed. lol Will -
I don't want to sound like I'm bashing the US but I think this is mostly an American thing. Canada has the same issues in towns and cities along the US border. I lived in the US for 10 years and got really fat. 240lbs. When I would get off work I would have to pass dozens of fast food restaurants. Almost every corner. So I indulged constantly and kept packing on the pounds. Now where I live we have one Macdonald's, the rest are small mom and pop restaurants, etc. serving healthy meals. We don't have a lot of access to junk foods. It's a 18 hour drive to the closest Wendy's, lol... There are 16,000 people here and our winters are around 40 below daily but everyone still walks or cycles to work. People rarely drive to much. People are always doing outdoor activities, hiking, swimming, boating, cycling. Everyone is fit and slim, overweight people are usually tourists or visitors. I thought they were nuts and went through junk food withdrawal when I moved here but now I love it. I think it is really a regional thing. Just my 2 loonies. Will

Yes Dorothy there are Fairies in the Arctic!
citizenwill replied to citizenwill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A friend of Dorothy is a fan of Judy Garland and because she is a known gay icon the phrase is known by a lot of older gays as code. If you asked a younger gay person if they are a friend of Dorothy's "wink, wink" they wouldn't know what the hell your talking about. lol... It's an old phrase from when being gay meant a death sentence a jail sentence or a severe beating. sadly the days of Judy Garland are disappearing, but we still have Shirley Bassey (another gay icon). :001_smile: I know 25lbs is great. I passed my stall weight and now I feel hopeful to get the rest off. I just have to get off my ass and start exercising. Will -

Is it? I thought I was losing kinda a slow. I guess we all think that though. It's really strange everything seems to be going in reverse. The more I eat the faster I seem to loose and when I eat my old feeling of hunger is my new feeling of fullness. I feel like Dorothy in Oz now. Except one with big feet and broad shoulders. lol.. -

Thanks Tiffykins, I actually had my surgery on June 25th by Dr. Osuna in Tijuana and everything went fabulous. It's been a smooth ride. Already 25lbs down. :001_tt2: Will -

citizenwill replied to citizenwill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lol. Dorothy was played by Judy Garland. The original Gay icon. Back before being gay was accepted. There was a code phrase to find out if someone was gay or not. If you asked them "Are you a friend of Dorothy?" you would be asking them if they were gay. If they said "Huh!" or "who?" you knew they weren't, but if they said "Why yes I am darling!" you knew they were. :001_tt2: there were other earlier code phrases like "is he/she musical?" I hope that makes sense. Will -
Anyone have a Doctor who did not approve?
citizenwill replied to momoftwo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My Doctor hadn't even heard of the procedure, so I explained it to her. She then asked why I don't just get a RNY here in Canada. I explained how long the waiting list can take and told her I would not qualify anyways because my BMI is below 40. She than said she can't tell me not to do it. She felt I should give diet and exercise another try. Then she said she would support me what ever I decided to do. I love my doc. -

Whoo-hoo! Way to go. I didn't think you would let this beat you. I'm so happy for you. Will -
Hi, I am 13 days post of and have a question. After I eat I have this feeling of food or liquid sitting at the back of my throat. It feel like I could throw up if I tried but it just sits there. After awhile it subsides and disappears. It's kind of hard to describe but I have been using this as a sign of fullness. Is this true? Thanks. Will

Is this fullness?
citizenwill replied to citizenwill's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That may be the reason. I still eat to fast. I am having trouble slowing down. I'll have to work on that. Will -

Whew... good. It's hard to figure out the new sensations. I am currently trying to figure out head hunger and real hunger. That's a pickle. I'm used to shoveling food in anytime, all the time that I forgot what real hunger felt like. Now I have to figure out what the new hunger is. lol.. Will -
I want to be able to see my wee-wee when I pee. (Little known fat guy fact). Will
