I went in last Thursday and had a fill 1cc. I was able to drink water after the fill and throughout the next three days. However, yesterday and today I am extremely tight and struggling to get soups and fluids down and I'm not about to try solids at this point. I'm thinking I need to go in and have some removed and after reading your discussions think that's what has to be done.

Good luck on your first flight. I had my first flight a couple weeks ago and was very excited that I no longer needed the seat belt extender. However, once I landed I was unable to eat and had difficulty even drinking liquids. It took a few hours to be able to get liquids and soft food down without restriction. The next day I was able to eat solids, but had to do so much slower than ever before. On my return flight, I didn't experience the same complications, but since my flight I have had intermittent difficulties. One meal I will have no trouble, the next I will vomit after my first couple bites of solid food. I'm trying to decide if I should have fluid removed. It's been two weeks since my flights so I would think by now things should have settled down. Keep me posted. I'm curious to see if anyone else experiences problems after flying.

Hello! My name is Terri. My surgery was performed on April 5, 2010. I'm 5 weeks post-op and to date have lost 37.2 lbs. I have a long way to go, but I'm getting there finally

I lost 17 lbs before my surgery date and I've lost 20 in the 5 weeks after surgery. The first week after surgery I lost 10 lbs, but that didn't last long. I'm averaging 4 lbs a week, but they say they only want you to lose 1-2 lbs a week. I'm sure it will slow down.

Oh and I'm not really on a "program" for exercise per say. I'm just working out on my own currently. I try to walk 2 miles each day. I use the stretch bands and weight machines for weight training. I started trying to run again and was able to run a mile today without stopping. My goal is to be able to get back to running 3 miles per day.

Hi Rhonda. I actually am on regular foods now, with the exception of starch. The clinic that performed my surgery has patients progress quicker than most other bariatric centers. I eat mostly grilled chicken breast, lettuce, eggs, and various fruits. I had my first fill last week though and it seems like maybe I'm not tolerating raw veggies very well.
