It seems like everyones pre-op diet (if they have one) is a little different. I've seen some who have used SlimFast, Carnation or the Atkins shakes. I unfortunately have to use Optifast which I've heard doesn't taste very good and is expensive. Atleast I can have sugar free popsicles -

Switched gym memberships last night from Gold's Gym to Lifetime Fitness. I'm so excited because they have two trainers who have gone through bariatric surgery!! Hoping to kick things off right!

I'm approved I can't believe it went through so fast!! After 6 months of nutrition classes and another month of dealing with BS from my PCP all my paperwork was finally submitted to Cigna on Thursday afternoon. I got the call this morning that they received an approval!! My surgery date is March 16th!! YAY!! I can't wait to start my new life!!

I'm with KristenC, the 6 months really isn't that bad. The time flew by for me and I'm so grateful for all the knowledge I have now as compared to when I first started this process. I have Cigna and they required the 6 month nutrition and fitness classes before I could get approval. I'm now going on month 7 in this whole process and while there have been some frustrating moments I feel 10 times more prepared than someone who was able to start their process and get their surgery in a months time. Good luck with your process and your insurance!

finally got fed up today and drove to my PCP's office, picked up a copy of all my paperwork and the letter then drove it over and dropped it off at my surgeon's office. So hopefully they will submit everything to insurance tomorrow. Now the real waiting game begins!!

this whole process is going to give me a freakin heart attack!! Finally got the clearance letter from my PCP with one problem...they didn't write in it that IM CLEARED!!! WTF!? So now they have to redo it. Thank God I have a massage tonight...I need it!!

So I called my PCP today and they said the sent everything over to my surgeon's on Monday. Called the surgeons and they said they don't have a single thing! No test results, no letter, nothing!! Called back to the PCP and they said someone will have to call me back! GRRRR!!! So seeing as how its now almost 5pm that means this crap won't even get taken care of til Monday!! At this rate I MIGHT be banded in March. Geez! :/

can't believe I am STILL waiting on my PCP to write my freakin medical clearance letter. This is getting so frustrating and it hasn't even gone to insurance yet. Guess I have to start making calls tomorrow and getting on people's a$$!!

Took my first Kickboxing class today!! I'm not sure if I kicked fat's ass or if it kicked mine...either way I'm going to be feeling THAT tomorrow!!
