Hi, Funny that you posted this since I came to the site tonight looking for answers. I am 3 weeks post-op in a couple of days. A few days ago I started to have discomfort below my port incision. I had discomfort after surgery......but at about 1 week post op it went away and I felt nothing. It seemed strange to me that I felt this discomfort again. All I would call it is discomfort.......it is not pain and it is not all the time -- just when I move or sit in a position that causes me to move that area of my body. I can't tell for sure -- but it seems that I have new bruising right below my port incision as well. However, it is very slight and perhaps I just did not notice it before. Has anyone had this before? I do have a young son that I've picked up a few times in the last week or so....but he is only about 24 pounds and it has been to get him out of his car seat and put him on the ground type of thing in very rare instances.....and I haven't done anything that has particularly irritated the area since surgery. I'm thinking about giving it another week to see if it feels better.....and if not, trying to see the doctor again.

Yes, I feel the same way. I'm 2 weeks post-op now. My stomach makes some awful noises........noises that would have meant I was *really* hungry pre-surgery. But, now it is just noise and I'm not particularly famished and running for food. Can't complain!! It definitely helps me stick to this liquid diet I'm still on Kathy

Hi, I have the occasional hiccup as well. There is either one or two of them.....and then they stop. It is so odd. I am only 10 days out from surgery.....so I have not really been able to attribute them to anything in particular yet. Looking forward to hearing if others here have that same experience. Kathy

Hello all, Wanted to say that I'm on day 4 after banding and feeling really good. The gas seems almost gone now and I hardly feel the port anymore. It is really amazing that I had surgery on Thursday and feel this good already. Yesterday morning I was already feeling "normal". I'm still on liquids....my doctor wants it that way for 21 full days. So, it is going to be a long road ahead until I can eat real food again. I do still feel hungry, but can make myself feel better with a lot of Water, tea, and chicken broth. I'm amazed I have the energy I have. I'm not back at work yet -- so I do wonder if I'm taking in enough calories to get through a "normal" day. I was able to add drinkable yogurt to the diet today and should be able to add Protein shakes in just a few days. That should help. I spent the day shopping today. It was REALLY hard to pass all the restaurants in the mall and smell real food. The thought of losing the band that I self-paid for is enough to get me walking right past those places. But, my goodness......I wonder how hard it is once you get to the point of no restriction and are just waiting for a fill. Good to know that there is chewable tylenol. I don't want to drag that bottle of liquid tylenol around with me. My grocery store had the liquid....need to look for the chewable tablets. Good luck to everyone being banded this week!

Hello all, I'm now banded. Had my surgery yesterday afteroon . It ended up being later in the afternoon after one of the patients having the same thing done with my doctor had some surgical complications. She ended up being fine -- thank goodness. Anyway, it was a long day for the rest of us waiting nervously Whatever they gave me to "relax" worked since I was practically asleep when they took me to the OR. I'm struggling with a little bit of gas pain -- not too terrible today. Last night was worse. I've been out walking a bit -- but it is all still in their rumbling around. I think my pain meds may be wearing off and perhaps that is the port I'm starting to feel. Anyway, tomorrow I head home and hopefully can recover by Tuesday -- when I need to return to work. I understand the "hunger" thing some of you are speaking of. I do feel what I think is hunger. I've just been sipping water and chicken broth when that happens. Perhaps it is just in my head. Talk to you soon! Kathy
