1st day of pre-op
goodgrief01 replied to michellegetsbanded's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Ladies! I have my 2 week pre-op appointment this tuesday and I'm really excited! I'm a little nervous about the diet he will put me on but I'm ready for anything, I think! My date is July 21st as well. How much time have you guys taken off work for this? I am hoping to return on Monday the 26th, I have a desk job. Good Luck! -
My GoWearFit arrived yesteerday and I already love it! I had it delivered to work and I had it up and going in no time at all! I was able to install it on both my work and home computer so I can sync up either place. I work at a desk all day and I knew my daily activity level was low but it was still a little shocking just how low it is! I was up bright and early thins morning and out to walk before it got too terribly hot and I've already met my activity goal for the day! Yippeeee!! That was the sweetest beep I've ever heard. I splurged and bought the display as well, I'm a visual person and it really helps me to have a constant reminder. I like that you can wear it as a watch, clip on your clothing and even keep it in your pocket. As long as it is within 3 feet of the armband it will communicate. The food journal is really easy to use and most items I have found in their database or found something compatable until I have the time to put in the actual nutritional information. Liftingchic, my display watch does not display seconds. I have spent most of my time on the website getting familiar and not much on the watch so it may have a mode that shows this that I have not discovered yet.

Hi Emily, I am not far from you in lexington , KY. I am a bit behind you in the process, should get an actual date next week and I believe it will be in late June or early July. You can do this! Just keep your mind focused on things other than eating and remember each day brings you closer to your goal!! Best of luck to you! Amy -
What is your goal weight for your height?
goodgrief01 replied to gingerjane's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm about 5'6" and I'm 43. My first goal is to get below 200 and then I'm going to take it from there. I'm afraid if I set a goal too soon I will feel like a failure and sabotage myself! A few years ago I got to just below 195 and I felt great so I know I can do that again. Once I get there I think I will take it 10 lbs at a time! Good luck everyone! I know we can do this!! -
any late july bandsters??
goodgrief01 replied to aphrab's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I will be a late July as well! I just received insurance approval and go for my stress test this week, which is the last thing I need to complete before I get a date. A few weeks ago they were scheduling in June but I think by the end of this week I will end up in late July. I'm getting really excited and can't wait to get it over with! I am hearing different things about the pre-op diet. I have not met with my surgeon yet to get the actual directions so I am not 100% what that will involve. I hear some are a week on a liquid diet to shrink the liver and I hear others say they were put on a 24 hour. Does anyone know if this is something that is determined by each person's physical condition prior to surgery or just a surgeons choice for all their patients? Good luck to everyone and I hope to get to know you all better! Amy -
Unsure of which road to take...
goodgrief01 replied to arfey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Arfey, I am pre-op and know how you feel. I have recently made my decision and feel confident with it but it took me awhile to get here. I have spent and still spend a LOT of time reading this site as well as others and reading anything I can find as well as talking to others. We have to take this seriousely as it will affect the rest of our lives. For most of us the process takes awhile and I think thats a good thing because we nned that time to learn. Good luck to you on your journey, whatever you choose I know it will be the right choice for you!
