I have gone from 247 to 219 this morning since Nov 23. This morning I was getting dressed and tried a pair of jeans that before I could not pull over my hips. Today they fit first time in 3 years. This gives me even more motivation to keep on going. I just wanted to share with fellow banders that understand better thank you

Pain in my gASS!!
firebug610 replied to Stephanie702's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am very glad I am not alone. I had my surgery 11/23 and have the same pain. I can burp a little with some relief but miserable again a few minutes later. Hope everything gets back to normal soon -
Yesterday at 9:30 am I was banded. They had a hard time waking me up in the recovery room because they gave me anti nausea meds. Now I am sitting here can't sleep and in a lot of pain. Oddly enough it is all worth it. I have waited a year to have this and I am so excited. My liquid diet is not bad either. My doc said I can have all the pudding and milk shakes that I want. He understands that this is hard and said that after o can't have this stuff anymore so I might as well enjoy it now. Good luck to everyone. How can anyone sleep. I am a stomach sleeper and it even hurts to sleep on my side

i am finally banded!!!
firebug610 replied to firebug610's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess I should clear up the milk shakes I can make a milk shake with slim milk ice and nestle quick powder. Once a day I can add a scoop of ice cream if I want. And the pudding is sugar free. i wrote my first forum this morning with no sleep and under pain meds. but thank you for the concern. -
I have been reading the different threads for months about how long it takes to get approved, the tests that you have to get pre op, and seeing all the approved threads. I could not wait til I could type that I am approved and a surgery date. Today is that day. I scheduled my surgery for Nov 23 at the hospital I work at. It is nice to be able to have the surgery and have seen the surgeon actually perform the surgery. I am a surgical tech and have chased this road for over a year. Struggled with my wait for 6 years and am ready to live my life and be able to chase after my children. Hope everyone gets their day to say they are approved and wish everyone luck. 11/4/10 consult with doctor 245 lbs and 5'4

I am a surgical tech hoping to be a nurse one day I decided to do the band because I don't want to be the patient that they have to put special attachments on the bed so I will fit. Hoping to have the band done on Nov -
How long is the Dermabond supposed to stay on?
firebug610 replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just make sure to keep the incisions clean and dry. The dermabond is a dressing. It can take a week for it to flake off -
I seen the surgeon do a few and started looking into getting it done myself I have 100 Ilbs to lose. I work in surgery and trust the surgeon that is doing it. So good luck with your quest
