    eating before a fill?

My doctor always says nothing after midnight for my 6:30a.m. fills. He also wants to make sure there is nothing in the pouch when he does the fill.

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY

Why do they recommend, liquid, smushies and then regular food? Is it to give the stomach time to adjust?

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY

I have 10CC band and am now at 5.6cc, after fill #4. Can someone please tell me when I will notice the change. Also, once I get there, what should I watch out for? I read about people getting food stuck, but since I have not experienced that I am not sure what to avoid. The doctor always says make sure you chew really good. Well, needless to say I am 43 yrs. old and learned how to chew a long time ago and so I am not sure what chewing really good means. Should I count to 50 before I swallow the food? Any suggestions on this would be great. I am down 40 pounds in 11 months, but I lost all of that the first 5-6 months. Been the same for a while now and that is with logging every bite of food I eat. HEEEELPPPPP:help:
  7. Hey, When I was going through the pre-op liquid plan I found drinking caffeine free ice tea helped alot. And it has a lot of anti-oxidants so that is a plus. My doctor told me that shrinking the liver with the liquid plan would be a medical necessity for surgery. Knowing it was a medical need really helped. I also made sure all of the foods I like were out of the house and more importantly out of my office. My doctor told me that five days would work, so I did 5 instead of 7 days.:clap2:

    Gas Pains....what a pain!

Gas X didn't help me. Pepcid did. The most helpful was the walking.
  9. Hey, I was banded on August 24, 2006. I have lost 40 pounds since the liquid diet before surgery. I received my first fill last Wednesday and I can really tell the difference. I go to my family doctor this week so it will be interesting to see how he thinks I am doing, BP, weight, etc., Hey one thing I have noticed since the fill is that I burp more than usual. It is not PB, because it is just a burp. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, is it because I am not chewing my food enough? By the way, great site, I am glad I joined.
