Any Kansas City bandsters???????
KS_sxychoc replied to ladykcusa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How is everyone handling this heat? Nothing really going on, I just wanted to check in. Eating has become easier. But I really need a fill to experience additional changes. -
I found this workout and wanted to share with others that would appreciate it. BootCamp.pdf

How are you all doing???? This has been a long day. The ab pain I had right after surgery is still around in my lover abs and it's now starting to get on my nerves. Anyway, eating has been boring. -

I don't fly anywhere until October, but I really appreciate the info on having an empty stomach that I've received here. Since I travel with a football team, they give us lots of Gatorade and water on the flights. I've been eating mainly protein but I haven't been getting my protein drinks in. I'm going to start doing them more this week since I can't really drink in the morning. But the big plus side of my band is the change in my taste buds. I have always hated milk and now I can drink it down with no problem. -

No, I volunteer with JoCo Sheriff's dept and went through citizens training. Even been through a taser experience as part of the training. How did your weekend go? -

Happy Saturday night! I finally ate last night. Catfish, tiny shrimp and a couple of scallops is what I made my dinner. Today was an adventure because I played McGruff the crime dog at a Home Safety fair. I was so hot...but the kids loved it. The rain moving in made it a much better evening. Stay safe and cool this weekend. -

Hello everyone. I'm supposed to start eating normal foods today...not working out very well. I haven't really been able to eat eggs this week. So I'm afraid to try anything else. But once I remembered that most people are really tight in the morning, I'm feeling a little better about the next challenge. Not sure what to do for lunch today. Our cafe doesn't really offer the best options for eating healthy. How are you doing today? Any plans for the weekend? -

Okay...finally home! My eating has been a challenge. I know I need to chew but that first bite doesn't go down well each time. Even scrambled eggs hurt if not chewed enough times. But I knew this was going to be a learning process from the start. My abs hurt more than they did right after surgery. Damn that back pack. Time to go jump!!! -

Hey KC group! I'm back to work now and only have a few pieces of discomfort. Part of my problem is I ride The Jo to work and carry a back pack that weighs about 30 pounds. This puts some stress on my abs and they are killing me all the time. Eating is still a come and go situation. As usual, not really hungry at work but when the stomach growls I find somethng for it. Loved that storm last night!!! I'll write more later. Have a good one. -

I use the One a Day kids gummy vitamin. It can be used by adults also. For calcium, I found a chewable at GNC that taste sort of like a light butterscotch. Each one has 600 mg of calcium and 800IU of vit D--> so I eat two. I am able to swallow the omego 3 pills, so I'm sticking with the one's from GNC. -
how did you tell your family you were going to have the lap band?
KS_sxychoc replied to babyk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I called a family member and informed them that I had already had the procedure. She was very happy for me. Now I have a lot more that I'm close to and want to tell them, but I'm not sure how. I wish there was a card I could send telling them what I've done. It's been so secretive, that I didn't tell my mother until about a week before my scheduled date and she lives with me. -

I just had my surgery on 7/06 but I am scheduled for my first fill 8/12. I've been walking a lot, mainly in the morning or evening. There are plenty of things to do inside. I found a mini trampoline on Craigs list a few months ago for only $10 and that really helps for when it's to hot or cold. How are you doing with the gas pain? -

How is everyone doing? I had my follow up appointment on Friday the 16th. Every thing is going great. Surprised at the loss since surgery (-10)... wasn't expecting any loss during this time. But I have continued to do my weight lifting...I just used fewer pounds right after surgery. My family is difficult about going walking, so I just have to throw on the headphones and grab my phone. When I go back to work I'll be able to hit the gym. Packed my gym bag today!!! -

I'm had my Mirena since 2006. I'm mainly on it so I don't kill anyone. The cysts and other things were secondary benefits. -

Zumba is so much fun. If you have the right instructor it can be a serious workout that you don't notice until it's over. My teenager and I will still break out the moves we did in that class when we hear certain song. Zumba is HOT!!!! -

KS_sxychoc replied to dreamingofbeingskinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too. I've been an athlete my entire life. Even broke my leg 3 years ago playing in a softball championship. Runners World mag has a webpage the is for the public on training to run. It's title has something to do with Couch Potato to 5k. Try a search and see if that helps. I found that it helped me in the past. Also in the newest issue of fitness magazine, there is an article on getting ready for a 5k or a 10 k. -

I bought the hot and spicy cup of noodles for .28 and only drank the liquid. I like spicy stuff and this made it easier to get the liquid in. -

KS_sxychoc replied to ladykcusa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello KC group. I've been dealing with the gas release but it's more in my neck muscles. Luckily the hotel let us check in extra early so I could take something for pain and get in the bed. Not really hungry or thirsty. But I'm trying to keep the drinks coming. 40 oz so far between milk, tea and chicken broth. Dang...just remembered I need to get those protein drinks in. How have you all been doing? -

It's all done. The only discomfort I have is from my ab muscles. And they have felt worse from my body building days. Not sure what we're going to do for my daughters birthday tomorrow. I thought about getting her an ice cream cake, but she doesn't like cake. Thanks to you all again. You have no idea how important you have been to me. I know there is still alot to learn and I will continue to come here for advice. Have a good one! -

Well, this is it. Tomorrow is my big day. I'm trying to get some last minute things taken care of. If you have any suggestions...I'm open for any of them. I've learned alot from being here and I hope to continue to learn from those of you that have gone through this. I hope you all had a great 4th of July!!
