Banded on Monday and have questions plz help

Congrats on your Lap-Band! Things will be getting better with each day! If you need to, cut the pills in half and drink slower. I dont remember the taste being bad, but it was definetly "off", if you know what I mean. The worst of the pain was gone after 5 days. The port incision was tender for a long time, but not really painful. Hang in there and you will be fine! -
Well, I think thinner guys can get the 9's and 10's us fat guys typically dont. It has to do with physical attraction first. If she is not attracted to you, you at best will be considered "friend" material. I am married, but spend a lot of time at a local bar. Last night, I was talking to a friend I have known for 25 yrs. She is easily a 9. And she was so into me last night. She was totally hitting on me and even proposed going out to dinner. She told me I look great........ since the weight loss, etc. A total NSV for me. and no! I will not act upon this. But it sure felt good! As far as what Ginger said about the jerks, we will have the advantage! we will truely appreciate our women and wont be stuck up! So when You finally bed your hottie, You will be able to keep her!

I always try to keep it simple. Fiber one cereal or 2 scrambled eggs with cheese melted in. sometimes I will have 1 slice of toast with my eggs. Usually after my fills, I will have a yogourt and a protien shake.

Well no breasts for me, but, my chiro said this would happen. All these years our body adjusted to carrying weight, now our bodies have to re-adjust to less weight. He warned me before the surgery I would have some dicomfort.

Getting stuck hurts!!!
joecs1 replied to Rebeccastl615's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My worst came from bread. I was away on business, out to dinner. It lasted an hr and a half! Horrible! -
I assume an "upper G I " Goodtimes..... I would question your Dr.... so what if UGI said too tight! you were comfortable. Ultimatly, the Dr fills us based on what we tell them and how we feel, per how much we are losing. And also question about the bloating. I wish I could help with that.

I have had 5 fills, 4cc-2cc-2cc-.5cc-and on Fri the 17th 1cc more, in my 15cc band. It is HERE! The sweet spot, that is! I did liquids for 1 day, mushies for 1, and today back to food. I am a lil nervouse if im too tight. NNothing hurts, but I can even feel the water taking its time thru the band! I have been losing atleast a lb per week, but I think that will turn to closer to 2 lbs a week now. A half a grilled chicken breast fills me up now, and it wasnt even that big to begin with. I am so excited. In 12 lbs I will be less than 250!:wub::smile:

WLS is not the flag of defeat! Far from it. It is saying "I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!" And quite honestly, WLS is not magic by ANY MEANS! It is still up to you......We still need to work at this, eat well, excercise, and show self control. I congratulate you on your decision. We do this because we need to take care of ourselves, so we can take care of others, like Rascal, for our children, wives or significant others, our parents( who certainly dont want to bury their children), etc, etc! As far as telling, I told everyone! That way there was no confusion. As said, most are supportive. Some say the wrong things, I dont think maliciously. But it happens! Good luck with your journey. And just to let you know, its not that hard. I have lost 48 lbs with what seems like not much effort, since march of this year. the worst was before surgery, diet. As the weight comes off, I see and feel the difference. that alone makes this really easy!

NSV! Congrats! :blushing: -
Chicken is one of the biggest offenders. I have learned to slightly break the rules with chicken. I eat chicken with my veggies in every mouthfull. It really helps with the consistency. I cut my chicken rediculously small too. try cutting your veggies smaller too, so you can eat the amount of chicken you desired.

Ok. not really. but I always assumed I might have gotten a lil shorter because years ago I went from 34 to 32 inch inseam on my pants. This is a NSV because i need to go back to 34 inch inseam because I can wear my pants higher up my waist, where they should be.

I have always had knee problems but I have noticed it more lately. My chiro says its cause my posture is changing, therefore all the tendons holding everything together are strugeling to keep up. I do enjoy how I feel when I go 2x a week. but that is more rare to go that often. But it obviously helps.

Past is not something we cant have. It is something we shouldnt. no protien/ all carbs. I would think if you want some as a treat, have no more than half a cup. Try and get a little protien in with it. I have had it once a month, in the last 3 months. but proportionatly, It was half pasta and half shrimp or lobster.

The average person is taller after a good nights sleep. Did u measure yourself in the am. or pm? I was told there could be a 1/2inch difference.
-
Keep in mind, the more weight on a scale, the greater margin of error. 35 lb weight is good.
-
I use the Dr's scale as my official weight. But I can tell when and how much I have lost with my scale at home. I weigh at home naked just before I jump in the shower, which is usually about 4 lbs less than Dr's. Atleast the dr's scale does get calibrated every now and then.

You did not provide a lot of info so its hard to say. I think if you are that desperate, call your Dr. I know that is not the ans you wanted but it might be best. You could have erosion or it might be nothing. Feel better! and keep us updated. J

More water, fruit, and add activia yogurt should help! -
A friend of mine is a freak of nature. her body is ripped. She jogs 5-10 miles 4 to 5 times a week. works out with weights 4 times a week. and does hot yoga 4 times a week. of course she only works 3 days a week/ pt. She wants me to go with her but I dont have that kind of time nor am I "THAT" motivated.

What won't you give up?
joecs1 replied to TracyNYC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only thing so far that I have given up is bread! when I use mayo I split it 40% real mayo and 60% LF mayo. It works for me. Other than that, I dont deny myself anything. My portions are just really small. -
Passing lots of gas... does this ever end?

Since may 25th, II cant burb, and all I do is fart. loud....long.... and uncontrollable. I farted once so loud when I thought no one was around in front of the food store.....I wasnt alone!!! I wanted to crawl under a rock. I used the "I just had surgery" and "excuse me"! She just kept on walking....! I laugh about it but I was sooooo embarrased! -
I kno it is not the healthiest thing out there, and I am sure thick crust wont go down. But an occasional 1/2 slice?
