Help?? 4 Days Post Op And Still The Pain
sweethot143 replied to FullofGRACE's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm having surgery on a monday morning and leave the hospital the next morning, i was going have my husband just take off the monday and tuesday, we have a 4 yr old and 1 yr old. Do you think he will need more time than that? will I be able to take care of the kids. The dr. didn't really give me any info at all. I met with him for 5 minutes and all he said is " when would you like surgery?" bring the payment in cash and in envelope, and have a ride home." lol. not what to expect for anything, weird. -

Got my surgery Date - December bandster
sweethot143 replied to beversman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
beversman, you are absolutely right!! Great attitude. i'm not understanding how our families don't get it! i know they love us and are worried, but come on, being FAT has so many risks as well, maybe even more. this is going to change our lives. I want it done yesterday! -
So, today i drove 2 hrs. to see Dr. Wiener for 10 minutes! I filled out paperwork and scheduled my date for December 4th!! that is about 2 weeks away!! wow. crazy. I'm so excited. I'm kind of glad that it is after thanksgiving, I can enjoy thankgiving on real food, and start fresh pretty much for the new year. He didn't have a pre op diet to follow, he said if I wanted I could do liquids for 10 days, but it wasn't necessary. I think that I will try anyway except for thanksgiving day. Maybe I'll start tomorrow and then take the weekend off on thanksgiving. I'm so excited right now!

Cheating..No, not with food!
sweethot143 replied to kimalicious's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My husband of 6 years and I have never cheated on each other. However, he is in the military and it seems to be the norm around here. Lucky, I have a very trustworthy man. -
I wear panyhose all the time to control the tummy, i'm looking foward to no having to wear them with all my dressy stuff. I like the look of open toe heals without pantyhose! gotta show off that super cute pedi that costs me an arm and a leg!

dogs for sure. But not even too crazy about them either. hmm.. coke or pepsi

Ladies - What Size Clothes to Cross Your Legs?
sweethot143 replied to JulieNYC's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was a size 14/16 last year and could cross my legs uncomfortably, and now I am a 20 and don't even bother. It bothers me a lot that about 5 months ago I could if i had to. now i feel like a man in a dress. Isn't this board great! I could never ever admit that to others. I have a hard time admitting it to myself. -
Food is comfortable for me. I just love the full feeling, if i'm not full i think I have to eat something. I know enough to make healthy choices, i keep bowls of fruit in the kitchen, i don't buy snack foods. I overeat on meals, because I eat like it's thanksgiving, until i'm stuffed to the gills, lol. It's like being in a zone, i'm not satisfied unitl all of the food is gone. I even finsih what my kids leave. I crave sweets, but only allow myself dessert once a week. the only exception to this lifestyle is when I am pregnant, I have no appetite, two bits make me full if I am hungry, and I don't have an attachment to the food like I do normally. Ironically, I only lose weight by having a baby! I'm hoping the lapband gives me the appetite as when I am preggo.

no family support for having surgery..lots of guilt though
sweethot143 replied to misltoe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I understand that it is hard that your family is not supportive. I read once that "It is none of your business what other people think of you" makes so much sense. You know if this is the right decision for yourself. I decided not to tell my family, the only one who knows is my husband, and he is supportive thankfully. We live in Germany and our families live in Florida so it's easier for us not to tell them stuff, as we are not close knit. Most people don't understand how it feels to be fat, to not be able to dress in your style, to have low energy, to feel selfconscience all the time. To feel big and sloppy, to feel like everyone is judging you on your size rather than the person you are. I am not banded yet, but I truely believe if I take this weight off, it will change my life. NOt so much what others think of me, but what I think of me. I can't love this body no matter how much i tried, I can't. You don't need their support, you can do this, and be on the road to becoming the person that you desire to become. I know my mom would be worried about me having surgery, show your family the statistics on this surgery and the probability of you losing the weight and keeping it off. People die from car accidents more often than from this surgery. It's very safe as you know. Good luck with this, I hope that you just put on your blinders and stay focused on your goal. Afterall, you deserve to have a healthy body too. -
My husband and I are both part time independent business owners, we are part of a leadership team. Full-time my husband is in the U.S. Airforce. I sell the make-up line in our business. http://dboyett.qbeautyzone.com/, if anyone needs make up or skin care check it out. The NAO line is awsome for those of us who like the dramatic look, with lots of shimmer and glitter. Think MAC but affordable.

Ok, so I am thinking about using DR. Weiner in Frankfurt Germany, he does gastric bypass for military patients often. His staff is even familiar with the women in the tricare office here and know them by name. Since I will be a self pay he emailed me to make a deal, he will take 1000k off the price if I have the money upfront and he will have to do it at a different hospital. Does this sound kosher to you? Has this ever happened to anyone else? I'm scared that I will get a botch job. Should I be worried?

I just wrote this all out and posted it and it didn't work i guess. Ok, so I'm thinking about using dr. weiner in Frankfurt, Germany. He does all the gastric bypasses for the military bases I guess. His staff even knows the tricare people here by name. Since I am a selfpayer, he emailed me to make a deal? He is will to knock 1k off the price if I will pay the day of surgery in full , but we have to use another hospital. Has a dr. ever made a deal with you before? Does this sound Kosher? I really need this done correctly, I can't afford one band never mind two!
-
no, he is not military. He's just a dr. in Germany where we are stationed. I feel better now that I got your responses on this. so the Surgery will cost 5k instead of 6k, a thousand dollars means the world to us, so i'm glad to have the discount. I can't wait till the consult, I should have an appointment set up by tomorrow for next week!! Maybe i'll have the surgery the week after. what a dream come true. In some ways I wish I hadn't read any negative on the band, those thoughts keep creeping in my mind. Do you think the majority of people have good experiences? I so want to be a fast loser! fast thoughts, fast thoughts.

I am not banded yet and have put one most of my weight in the past year and my feet have grown! I usually wear a small 7M, now I can hardly fit an 8w, my feet seem to always be swollen. Hopefully all my way cute shoes will fit me soon after surgery. Since I couldn't buy cute clothes, I bought cute shoes, the higher the heal the better!

lol!!! My DH and I were hysterical the first night I googled him! ROLF. Yes he is very reputable, I hear. I guess he even wrote procedures or something for this. Not exactly sure, but he's been doing this since they came out and he uses the American LapBand not the European bands. I jsut never heard of a dr. making a deal. I guess this is business for him, whereas for me it's life changing.

is this working?

I am thankful for my 2 beautiful little girls, my hunk husband, for our military which my husband proudly serves, for the bright future we have.
-
I think that is an awsome idea. You are going to give someone their life back. It's not crazy at all. You must be amazing people. One of my personal goals is to be able to donate a Wish every month for Make a Wish. It only cost $2500 to make a childs dreams come true! Unbelievable. Great Idea. Now if only the free lapband was for me, =), lol. Military insurance does not cover, =(.

I'm am trying to self pay to get banded. I am in Europe and considering 2 different Dr.'s, Dr. Weiner out of Frankfurt, germany, and dr. Mignon from Belgium. I am trying to make and appointment with one of them, and I would like to know how long the process takes to get banded after your first appointment, if you are not using insurance. :help:
