I was so tight at my last fill too, he made it so tight the restriction was hairline thin on the screen. so i'm wondering where it went to

my meaning behind having so many children is that in our kind of lifestyle(military) having 6, 7, 8 little ones under the age of 10, can be quite quite stressful, I know the woman love their children just as much as the next woman. When my husband was deployed for a year and i was left with a 3 month old and a 2 year old, my stress levels raised and I could of seen myself on some kind of medicine, and looking back I probably should have been. So I'm not saying children cause depression, but the LDS woman I know that are on Prozac, openly at least, have more than 5 or 6 children a piece and have zero time for themselves. I only have 2 kids and stay at home so i have plenty of time to do things i like to do, read, spend time with friends, we go to lunch at least once a week, get pedicures, and of course go online. I look up to those woman personally, it takes a strong person to do what they do. I think they are selfless and very much an inspiration to many. Maybe someday i'll have the guts to have more children. I'll be 25 this year so i have some time i think.

no, I don't live in Utah, and never have. I have only visited SLC once and it was for business. Maybe i'm one of the woman who benefit from the lifestyle, since I do not feel opressed or depressed. I can honestly say in my family that yes, my husband is the head of it, but we are partners, and I usually make all the big decisions anyway. Like I wanted to buy a house, so we did, all he did was sign the mortgage. I picked the cars we drive, take care of all the finances, and he gets a certain amount each pay period to spend on whatever and likes it that way. I also only get a set amount and it's the same as his. He takes the lead by leading family prayer and scripture study, disciplining the children, not in a physical way, going to work to provide for us, I stay home, he takes care of the cars, ect. Anyway, at the top of the report it was especially directed at Mormon woman married to gay men, and two other out of the ordinary mormon woman. I can see how the article could be true of some woman, but not any I know. The woman I know that are on prozac have more than 6 children a piece and being military families are stressed because the husbands are gone to Iraq or have gone. For someone with your beliefs they would see the Church woman as being secondary, that's just because of your belief system. I don't see it that way, because i feel that my roles are just as important as my husbands and there will be great blessings for what I do as a Mother, wife and in The Church.

Vitamins?? What do you take??
sweethot143 replied to NurseWiggins's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i take the nutrilite brand double X vitamins. they are huge horse pills so i have to cut them in half or quarters, i think after these are gone i'm going to start taking the same brand in the chewables. since the cutting is a pain and i hardly take them because of that. -
I have anemia as well, before i got the band. not sure why, this is good info to know though, after i got my blood taken for an annual physicaly, they called me to tell me I have iron deficiiency anemia and I went back to do a cbc, and my iron stores are low i guess. but my dr. didnt' seem to care, said it was due to heavy periods, and I was like i haven't had one since may of 04, i got preggos in june of 04 then after baby i got an IUD so it's been nearly 3 years since a period. now i'm a bit worried about bleeding I don't know about. hmm..

I am going to call on MOnday and go in this week for more. on the flouro machine the restriction was hairline thin when i saw the liquid go through. i just hope i don't have a hole in the band somewhere.

I did read it now, i can agree with some of it. However, some of that is incorrect. just one example, the sexual interviews, doesn't happen. Also most seminary teachers are female from my experience, the one in my Ward now is and so was my husband's and his 3 younger siblings. I can say that, if i had 8 children running around, I would be depressed too. I do know woman who have that many children and are on Prozac. Even if they weren't Mormon they would still be stressed out and become depressed with that many young ones. He also didn't mention the authoritive roles that woman play in the church, like in the Relief Society. He mentioned HOme teachers which are men but not the Women's visiting teachers which are Woman. I'm also a little bit surprised that he included a lot of theory's that are not taken as fact in the Church. And are not taught at Church. Overall, I think he had a lot of truth's and that article could be beneficial to other LDS Woman who are struggling and it would give them the opportunity to know that they are not alone and it's common. But being a non member and reading this, I think people can get the wrong idea about many things. I don't think it's a good article to post on the internet to be analyzed by others.

nope didn't read it. Just saying it's not as if it's official Church Doctrine.

Your welcome, my husband served in the Colorodo, Denver MIssion from 98-2000. My intent was never to debate faiths, I know that is a complete waste of time. I just wanted to clear up the false statements made, so that others won't be turned away from The Church in the future if approached about it because of something they read. About that paper that was published, remember, just because an Active Mormon wrote it, doesn't mean it is Church Doctrine. It's merely his oppinion.

same experience here, which is what was very attractive about The Church in the first place. I guess it's nice to belong to a community of people like that. Mormon or not.

Ann Taylor goes up to an 18 now. That is my favorite store and totally my style. Old Navy also carries plus sizes. i just got a nice pair of jean from there, size 16, so my first time not in the fat girl section in a long time!

thanks guys, i'm going to call my surgeon on monday and schedule a fill. He first said only 2 a year! but last time he called me and had me come back after 2 weeks because he was going on vacation. so it's been a month now, maybe a bit more would be good. I am starving after 2-3 hours. Brandi- I just have to tell you, you a amazing!! and looking like a hottie! wow! I think it's your positive attitude that is working it. Also, I am losing my hair in big fist fulls like crazy. worse than after i gave birth. my hair is semi thick so i think it will be fine. but when i wring it out after washing it, i pull out handfuls. I am getting my Water in, but not really tracking calories, i'll start that again. I fell off the exercise bandwagon on vacation. I'll start back up again. my right arm is all flab! like an old lady novw! yuck. i have a scar on my left armpit so that arm is never flabby.

You're right about the power us woman have over men. Have you ever read Think and Grow Rich, by Napolean Hill? There is an entire chapter on that called Sexual Transmutation. Fascinating book, one of my favorites

Same day surgery? Not here :-(
sweethot143 replied to SillyWillyMommy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i stayed one night and was glad too, another night would have been great. I was in a lot of pain. -
thanks for the words of encouuragement. This is how my restriction feels after 4 fills. first bite hurts and makes me feel almost full. a few minutes later hunger is back so i take another bite , not pain now. so i keep eating, chewing well is second nature now. I get full after a half of a hamburger for example, only one part of the bun on it, can't eat bread well, and then i also had a grilled mushroom and a bite of a bell pepper. I could of eaten more but wasn't hungry so i put it away and about 3 hours later ate the other half. I eat small amounts but am hungry every 2-3 hrs. does anyone else have that problem. I'm afraid to get more tightened, the last one i saw the restriction on the fluouro machine and it was hairline thin, so i must be pretty full. it just seems to pass quickly and I do not drink with meals. sometimes a smalll sip of Water if i ate something spicey, but i never order a drink and don't serve myself one with meals at home. I wait 1 hour at least to drink. does it sound like i am properly restricted or need a bit more?

things are great, i'm discouraged at my lack of weightloss, 31lbs. so i guess i feel like a loser on this board. i was hoping for more. you know, fast fast fast. however, i went from a tight 20 to a comfortable 16! thats good. went home to Florida for a week, went to paris, and am off to Spain in a few weeks with just the hubby! can't wait!

hey guys i'm back around. it's nice to see how great everyone is doing!

fundamentalist Mormons are not the same as mainstream mormons. Just like Orthodox Jews are not the same as just Jews. The fundamentalist don't attend regular meetings, they don't use the same temples, they are not listed as any of the over 3 million members, they don't have the same President, and they have no association with the Church at all. I have not seen any interviews with mainstream Mormons that claim the things you say. I have seen the interviews with Larry King, including the one with Gordon B. Hinkley, the President of the Church.

I know! That's what i'm saying. maybe someone else knows something I don't. I don't care, i'm dead, if it help me when i am dead, then great. IF not, then who cares. right?

I have to disagree with the part about only those strong and disciplined enough can be true Mormons. we aren't taught that at all. we are taught that we are all sinners and need to repent on a daily basis and that we can do that through the atonement of Christ. A lot of us are weak, i think most of us are in fact. That's human nature and our Creator understands that and has provided a way for us to repent and be forgiven of our constant sin. I think we do rely on God, that is why we are encouraged to pray daily in personal prayer, family prayer and couples prayer. We are also encouraged to read scripture in the same manner. We are to make all decisions with the help and guidance of our Heavenly Father, I think that is relying on him quite a bit.
