What a difference 7 months makes right? I know that after i had gained 50 lbs I got zero attention from the opposite sex. And now it makes me feel weird to get attention again. Like if I drop something, a guy will run over and pick it up. Or clerks flirting with me. It used to be a regular thing so i had forgotten how awkward it makes me feel, but on the other hand it's nice. Even if they are mostly ugly loosers! hey guys! Well my scale finally moved! AFter a 2 month stand still and being unable to get more of a fill. I dropped 10 lbs and am officially in Onederland. My sister and I started doing South Beach Diet 8 days ago and I dropped all that since then. So maybe simple carbs are not for me at all even in small portions. I didn't eat much of them so i'm not even craving them except I would like some crackers with my tuna or something. I have been living on omlets, tuna and ground turkey with taco seasoning. I posted a before and after on the before and after thread. I saw yours up there Brandi and it was amazing!! You don't even look as though you've ever been considered very overweight! You look great. I see your collar bones very clearly. Mine are just starting to poke through I can only see them if i am standing to the side. Now that I am under 200 just barely it seems like I am just starting my journey now. I weighed this after my second baby was born in Feb of 05' and gained almost 50 lbs in less than a year. So now i'm not feeling so blue about the band anymore. It's working. I'm going to see if I can go in for another fill now, since it's been almost 2 months since trying last time. I do feel looser lately. I can anything and everything. well, except a big mac, i tried that back in May and I PB'd that was my last big mac and last PB You guys are awsome! I am going to try to keep in contact more. I know I say that every few weeks but I would really like to. My husband is having knee surgery on thursday so our traveling days are on a halt for now. I

I've been to a few amusement parks and Busch Gardens since banding 7 months ago. Inever thought about the rides hurting the band, so i'm not sure. I go on everything. My husband is also a huge eater and we just don't do buffets anymore. Especially the expensive ones, I can't imagine wasting $25 for a few bites of food. Even my favorite Boston Lobster Feast in Orlando is out the window. WE still eat out a lot now we share a meal. He likes it because now he gets an appetizer and a meal. For example he orders fajitas I eat one and he eats the rest and then he eats the kids leftovers. Or he has me order my own meal and eats his and mine, but then he can't get an appetizer or dessert. I guess it all works out.

I can totally relate. I've only lost about 40 lbs since december and I have the 10cc band too. I went in for a fill last month and he wouldn't add any. Under fluoro he said that I was already very tight. However, I can eat anything including soft with bread. I can chug down 3 cups of water. I didn't lose any weight for 3 months! since april. Except this past week i've lost 8 by doing South Beach Diet. Hopefully that will get me off my plateau here. But I understand, I wish I could lose faster. I think i lose slower than others because preband I had good eating habits. i drank a lot of water at least 12 cups a day, I at balanced meals, I don't eat hydrogenated oil or artificial anything (most of the time) I didn't drink soda. So I think that by not having any really bad habits I am dropping weight slower. Or.. my other theory is my IUD. who knows. Stick in there. I'm trying. but it sure is depressing.

I still have about 2 more years here in Germany. fortunately, but unfortunately, i love it here, but the dr. is quite annoying. another day is gone and sitll no word from the dr. on what i should do. I think i do eat enough, that was just like a snack. for lunch i had a whole sandwhich on sourdough, turkey 1 slice of bacon, light mayo, avocado tomato and onion. yummy, but that kept me full for about an hour. Normally I could only eat half a sandwhich and then be hungry in 1 1/2 hrs. the thing that worries me is that the hunger has changed. I'm ravenous! anyway, other than that, all is well. I am doing well with exercising too. It's a beautiful day here in Germany and tomorrow is my 25th bday!

I'm not sure what's in there, he doesn't keep track, I don't even have a folder there. It's a weird German hospital. He does it under fluoro so i can see that opening is hairline thin.the food just passes through it so quickly. for example. at 3:00 I ate about 4oz of baked chicken, no skin just shake and bake on it. and by 3:45 I was so hungry I was shaking. Now that's not normal, i used to be like that preband but not since my first or second fill. I have been drinking a lot of water too, 12 cups a day minimum. I have a 3 cup Nalgene bottle thing and i drink at least 4 of those. it's 5:3ppm and i've already had 3. i emailed my other dr. the other day, but still no answer from him. ugggh. that pisses me off! I really wnat to be close to goal by my 1 year mark and I still got 60lbs or so to go.

sorry i'm so in and out guys! We went to Spain a few weeks ago so I've just been recovering from that, spending time with my girls, enjoying the sunny weather that is almost non existant. I havent' lost any weight since April! I haven't gained but i haven't lost. I am starving all the time, I feel like there is restriction i feel pressure, but that turning hungry feeling is always there, like preband as if i had skipped a meal. I haven't had that feeling in a few months since probablly my second fill. dr. said i can't fit anymore in my band, so i emailed my original surgeon who speaks better english to explain my dilemma he hasn't answered me back yet. I am so frustrated right now, I have been religiously working out on my elliptical 5x a week and doing crunches and push ups. not sure what to do! I'm sad.

i'm with you on the worrying! i'm starving, i have a lot of restriction so the flouro says, but i get hungry every hour. i've had 5 fills. 10cc band. weightloss super super slow. but it's happening.

unfortunately, they don't keep records at the hospital i go too. I make an appointment and when i get there, they act like i'm just walking in! so i asked how much is in there and he said he didn't know. I was like well can you take it all out and see and then put it all back in? He didn't understand. The language barrier is a problem. I need to find someone that speaks German to come with me and translate next time I go. See when i call to make the appt. for the fill, i talk to the secretary, she says ok come in, but there are no records for her to check what fill level i am at and if i should come in. it's weird. but i guess i am pretty tight, maybe i'm just one of those lucky or not so lucky ones that can eat anything without problems. i'll just have to exercise more.

k guys, i spent 6 hours on the road yesterday for my fill. and he wouldn't fill me!! i'm freaking starving all the time and the restriction on the screen was the same as last time, hairline thin. so why am i hungry?? he said he can't put anymore in. So i was thinking maybe i dialated my pouch? i just need to get the willpower to go on liquids for a few days to fi that right? so i get my elliptical tomorrow! yeahh. can't wait. ok,Brandi, to be honest, you look amazing!! yes your weight is in your top half, but look at you in those little pink shorts!! you can see a waste line!! brandi girl, sorry you felt that way this weekend. I also feel like that sometimes, i know exactly what you mean. So i go for fill #5 tomorrow! yeahh i hope this is the one. I am going to try my friends elliptical today and see if i like it to buy it. they are moving. I am hoping it's a good one. they paid like 1500 for it on the base so i know it's probablly more expensive at sears or something and they are selling it for 200. i'm praying it's nice and smooth.

I have been married in the temple for almost 7 years, and have never heard of being"eternally pregnant!" to populate a planet! sorry to say, someone lied to you. AS for the comments on missionaries, my husband served an honorable mission, and loved every minute of it. It helped shape him into the man he is today . A man who loves his family, lives to do service for others, leads in the church without one complaint, and tries to live an honest and righteous life. He went on his mission for the right reasons to spread the Gospel as we are commanded to do in the Bible. He selflessly gave 2 years of his early adulthood life to serve his God. Most other guys would be living the frat boy life while he was out helping others as did those two mormon missionaries that helped Carlene. The thing is that after their missions, thos boys will most likely continue to do service for others. Its who they are, what they love and I am personally happy to be surrounded by loving men like that. It's refreshing, and my non mormom friends always ask my why my husband is so good natured and kind, what's different about him? I know the answer. I have been to SLC once, to temple square, went through that incredibly beautiful Temple and there was no dark presence over it when I went. It was such a clean town, the people were unbelievably nice, and as I walked through temple square and through the conference hall it and the vistors center, it brought me to tears. All of this was made possible because of a boy in a grove. I personally loved every second i was there.

i snack, but probably because i'm not at my sweet spot yet, this last fill is wearing off. I get full after about a cup and starving in an hour.

I've flown 3 times since surgery and never set off an alarm. but no, I don't have a card. I didn't even get eating directions with my surgery

i was always a 7 until i put on almost 60lbs and then i was an 8/8.5 in heels and 7.5 in a regular shoe, now my feet aren't swollen anymore and i'm back down to a 7.

for me I was a self pay and didn't struggle over it at all. I saw a commercial a few years ago for it and knew that I wanted this. It was way too much money and my insurance doesn't cover it and at the time I was only 50lbs overweight and wouldn't have qualified if they did cover it. It just goes to show that if you have a strong desire for something and plant it in your mind and write it down and date it, you will be sort of forced into action to figure out a way to get it. I did just that and here I am, was 100lbs overweight, and have been banded 4 1/2 months. I didn't gain the extra weight on purpose, i had a 2nd baby and it came after her and stress of a deployment. but it all worked out for the good anyway! Good luck.

I found that comment insulting because that comment about the President of the Church being probably gay was making fun of him. That's why I thought that was mean. YOu know nothing about how he is called to position or what he stands for, or who he was. I know a few extra femmy Mormon single guys who I sometimes wonder their orientation, people are people and i'm guessing there are some in every religion. These guys may just choose to not act on their feelings. not sure, never asked any of them. I honestly, don't care either way, it's thier business. Just to add, I've known losts of femmy guys of all different backgrounds. My hairstylist is one of them, super super girlie and claims to be straight. hmm. who knows. Whatever floats your boat.

Went to dinner with my spouses group tonight and i turned down german icecream! oh how i wanted it. It goes down so easily, much easier than the schnitzel i had for dinner. My fill is scheduled for tuesday, I can't wait, I think this is the one! I had a dream that it was too full, so they couldn't put more, and I kept falling asleep while the dr. was trying to tell me. weird

i used the nouva ring about 3 years ago. I couldn't keep track of it, i left it to long a few times, my cycle was all screwed up. so now i have an IUD, I think it hinders weightloss, all that hormone being released in me. When DH goes to Iraq in a few months i'm going to get it removed and see if that helps speed things up. i went to lunch with my girlfriends today, i haven't seen everyone in a while since i was in FL for a few weeks and everyone noticed that i've lost weight! yeahh. first time. i'm sporting my size 16 jeans that are getting too loose. i have 1 pair of 14's in my closet, i can button, but then i have a muffin top. yuck. have a great day ladies! i'm now off to dinner with my spouses group

Why are you so mean? Actually the President of the Church at the time Wilford Woodruff stopped poligamy, I don't remember the exact reason why, but I think it had to do with the fact it became illegal in the country at the time. That Prophet is actually a direct decendent of one of my bestfriends. He was not gay and it probably took a lot of courage to go against what the people at the time had known to be true. I'm sure he got a lot of crap for that. Polygamy was practiced in the Bible for a reason and during early Mormon times for a reason. I'm just happy I was not alive and a member back then, I know it's not for me, and to me kind of contradicts everything i've been taught about the sacred marriage between a man a woman. From what i understand it was not a sexual thing at all, and a lot of men at time were being killed off and leaving large families behind that needed to be provided for. So some men not all men were allowed to take on more one wife and support those families. It wasn't a sexual thing. What do you mean by feminized? Is it that they are sensitive and kind? Or that they are not covered in tattoos and crushing beer cans on their head and walking around in a drunken haze? Or is they don't use cuss words, and that they treat others with respect? I just had a good friend of mine (non-mormon) tell me that she wishes that she could find a guy like my husband. My sister has told me that a hundred times as well. They like that he is a family man, doesn't drink or smoke, lives to spend time with his family, and obviously has a close relationship with God. He attributes that to his Mormon upbringing and what he learned from watching his Father.
