I respectfully disagree with the dislike option. I don't really think that moving a reply to the top of a thread based on likes is a good idea, either. You'd lose the continuity of the thread. I do think that a reply option to an individual response that would place the response directly below the corresponding post would be helpful. Would eliminate having to quote the entire post, keeping the thread less cluttered. Just my .02 :-)

Is he a redhead by chance? I've heard they are more sensitive to trauma...

Thank you for your kind words. People don't understand body mechanics very well and some of them work in the medical field, lol. I was Dx with IBSd many years ago. Until 18 months ago, I would still have alternating bouts of constipation and diarrhea on a 7 to 10 day rotation. I've used Probiotics, Fiber supplements to manage this. Now I have IBSc, and yesterday my gastroenterologist Dx me with gastroparesis and the gastric emptying test is to determine the severity. The palpitations I get while eating solid foods are disturbing. The abdominal distention, pain, reflux, regurgitation and vomiting are truly affecting my life in a very negative way. I'm retired...my husband and I wanted to go to AZ this winter, get out of the cold, but we can't, because of this condition and the unknowns. I've been following a band food plan all along, yesterday the doctor told me I need to eat a soft, low residue, low fiber diet. I need to eat 6 times a day, half my normal amount at each meal. I'm on another new drug :-/ with a huge copay, that may or may not work. The questioning of my decisions about my healthcare (timing, why I didn't see my band doctor, etc) were really disheartening and unsupportive. There isn't enough room in one post to list every conversation, office visit, diagnostic test, etc. I'm pretty experienced and knowledgeable (according to my care providers) and tend to seek help earlier, rather than later. I have friends who are doctors, PAs, nurses as resources, as well. I chose to see my gastroenterologist because he wasn't affiliated with my band doctor and I needed a trusted 2nd opinion about whether to remove my band. My GI doc is adamant that I have no surgery unless absolutely necessary, since additional abdominal surgery will exacerbate my motility disorder. When I posted this, I did receive many supportive comments and I appreciate that. It's really hard to see people take the position that somehow, someway, anyone who has a complication with their band must be non-compliant. That is just so judgemental. People who are suffering, need compassion. Thank you again for your kind post. I hope your husband's condition is manageable...best of luck to you both!

Alas...It Was Just A Temporary Fix...
Baba Wawa commented on RavenClaw779's blog entry in Blog 85448
I hope you get an answer soon. It's no fun having these sort of problems. I'm seeing my GI doctor this afternoon to find out what options I have for this motility disorder I've developed. -
Food feeling stuck and uncomfortable

Do you have fill in your band? Sounds like you're a bit tight. I would call the doctor about a small unfill. Good luck to you! -
You cannot actually "block" someone on here, you can "ignore" them, which means you opt out of seeing their posts. I had this individual on "ignore", she used her other LBT persona to send me the message (and another equally offensive one today). As far as the benefit of this site, it's great to share ideas and experiences. I try to be as helpful as I can, though right now, I'm having some pretty serious health issues that are band related. I hope I can keep my band, but it's not looking too promising. Alex and I are in contact, I hope this situation is resolved soon.

I went through all my amazon reviews, I did review a book by a Cheryl *****, honestly had no idea it was her. No offense, but if one publishes a book, it is customary to expect reviews, isn't it. I apologized to her and removed the review. If she had pm'd me to let me know that I had upset her, we could have avoided all this nonsense. She should not have let it get to this point.

My Body Once Again Reminds Me Who Is In Charge....
Baba Wawa commented on Terry Poperszky's blog entry in Terry Poperszky's Blog
It's very normal to stop losing, even gain a bit as solids are introduced. You will lose again as you add more lean dense protein and low glycemic veggies to your food plan. Keep it up, you're doing great! -

I had my fluid removed and have continued to lose. Do what's right for your body, call your doctor.

Anyone out there? Still figuring it out 3 yrs post surgery..
Baba Wawa replied to kristy_rae's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You really should call your doctor about this. Sometimes we can get tight even with no fill...I am. I have a GI motility disorder that affects my entire digestive tract, causing spasms which narrow the stoma. It seems to be a late post op side effect that is happening to a few people I know. Call your doctor today please. Keep us posted. -
You might want to talk to your doctor about this. When you say constipated do you mean bm less than 3 x week?

If you're having severe diarrhea, they make chewable Imodium, if your doctor approves. -
My band is empty for the first time in 6 years!
Baba Wawa replied to wordygirl74's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my band unfilled last June. I only had 3.5 cc in my 11cc realize band and it was tight as a drum, only drops of barium would go through. I now have a GI motility disorder and still cannot eat most foods. I'm hoping to revise to VSG. -
Haven't had steak since being banded, do you eat it?
Baba Wawa replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can eat a couple of ounces, that's it. I cut it into tiny, corn kernel pieces. -
Happy But Disappointed
Baba Wawa replied to jerseyguy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Criteria for a fill: 1/2 to 1 cup of dense protein + veggies and physical hunger in less than 4 hours Fills are not the end all with bands...being overly dependent on your band stopping you from eating can lead to problems. Your weight loss, doctor's confidence in you continuing to lose without a fill is a good thing. Don't be disappointed! Give yourself a pat on the back! -
Doubts - & Wednesdays the Day!
Baba Wawa replied to Redesigned_Curves's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A lot of the weight lost on a preop diet is water. If you weren't hydrated well when you started, it might explain losing 5 lb. You've done great on a pretty strict regimine, just stick with it and it'll be fine
