Bad Night. feeling down doesnt begin to cover it..
mickeybeyes commented on Duitsy15's blog entry in Amy's Blog
I tell my kids the reason why some people pick on others or hurt their feelings is because they feel badly about themselves and this helps them cope......but we are adults here and I can turn my mommy filter off and just simply say......SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST A**HOLES!! Don't let ignorant people like that slow you down. The only person that can truly make you happy is you and you will do fine!! Good luck to you!! :-) -
I used to wear jeans and t-shirts when I was thinner and although I still wear that, I can't wait to buy them in smaller sizes and feel good about what I have on. I always seem to feel "frumpy" in them now. I can't wait to feel "cute"!

Wow!! Terrific job!!

Hi, I am a new member!
mickeybeyes replied to Christi199's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My insurance required 6 months but it ended up being almost 10 months. Glad it took as long as it did so I could be sure this was going to be right for me. I am not a very patient person, but it went by quicker than I thought it would. Good luck to you!! -
Did anyone else experience a hot face in the first few days after surgery? I feel like I am burning up, but temp is normal. Is this odd???
-
I called him and he said it is not related to the surgery ( but I never had it before). He doesn't know what it is. I guess I just wait and see.

I have been OK mostly today. It was worse yesterday so I wonder if it was a med from the hospital. His office was closed today, but if it happens again I won't hesitate to call the on call doc. Thanks.

Banded this morning!!! :-)

Thanks everyone! Did anyone else feel like their face was burning up with fever? Checked temp and is normal but my face is so hot. -
WOW!! Can't believe its done. Feeling sore, but overall pretty good. Will be home tomorrow.

Just was told to be at the hospital at 9am tomorrow to begin my new life with my new best friend the band. I am incredibly nervous but I can't wait to start a new chapter. I have a feeling I will not sleep very much tonight. What should I bring with me (I will be staying one night)?

Congratulations!! Your story is comforting to me. I go for my banding in the morning and have been quite anxious. I have been reading some stories of others to get me through the night. Won't sleep much tonight so I this is where I will be....reading of success stories like yours. Good luck with your journey! -

Energy on Pre op Diet~
mickeybeyes replied to Spaness2012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought I was the only one feeling a great lack of energy during pre op diet so I asked my doctor. He told me it is normal. My body is coming down of of the sugar rush it is used to. My body has depended on sugar for so long that its not used to this. He also said the people who choose not to follow the diet end up (usually) crashing worse after surgery because its like quitting sugar cold turkey instead of letting your body get used to things. It makes sense now and hearing other people talk about the lack of energy makes me feel less crazy...lol!! Good luck to you!! -
Awesome!! You look great!!

You look great!! I hope I have as much success as you've had!! Way to go!! -
Good luck!! I go Wednesday so I know the feelings you are having. The closer I get the more nervous and excited I get. Also it seems I am having more questions pop up in my head....making sure I am ready. I think this will be the best decision you (and I) could ever have made. Here's to new beginnings! :-)

So proud of myself right now :-)
mickeybeyes replied to mickeybeyes's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks! I never thought food had THAT much control over me. Guess I was wrong. Well not for long....lol. :-) -
OK I just have to share. This is a very small victory but a victory still. I have been on my pre op diet since January 16th and its been going pretty well. I figured I made it past the hardest part with great success so it should be smooth sailing until banding on the 30th. WRONG!! yesterday I was craving everything... ice cream, pizza, chocolate, you name it I wanted it. My son had m&m's and I considered just one (what could it hurt right?lol). Now here comes my proud moment.....I MADE IT THROUGH THE WHOLE DAY WITHOUT CHEATING!!! Yaaaay! Like I said....a small victory for most but to me it was like climbing Mt Everest. Today I am back to feeling good about things and so far no cravings. I know there will be many more days like yesterday in my new future but I now feel confident I can get through them and still be here the next day to feel proud again. Thanks for listening to me "brag"!! :-)
