My doctor said not to use a straw when drinking. Do you all do that? I miss my straw and I never thought that I would, lol!

I chose the band because of the riskd associated with the bypass. I am a single mom and want to be around for my daughter. I also want to have more kids some day and like that I can eat healthy and will not be limited when pregnant. I was also worried about malnutrition, I work in the medical field and have seen that first hand. I had surgery 4 weeks ago and have lost 44 pounds. I expect that to slow down and am hoping it does. I want to lose slower so I don't get to flabby, lol.. I think everyone else is right, it's your choice and you shouldn't let anyone push you in one direction. Best of Luck!!!

My band was placed on Wednesday, I woke up this morning with an odd feeling on my left side, almost like a pulling depending on how I move. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I guess I'm paranoid about my port. Thanks for you help!

Hi Guys! My surgery is scheduled for Aug 11th. I can't wait. I find that trying to eat better now is hard, I know I have to but am struggling with the mind set of when will I be able to have this again? Its so frustrating! I wish you all well and can't wait until Aug 11th. 272 starting/242 now

Since my first visit with my doctor about 2 months ago I have lost about 23 pounds by changing my eating habits. Some of my friends have noticed the change in my appearance and are now questionsing my decision and don't see why I can't do it on my own. It is so frustrating to have to explain that I need the extra help and want the tool. UGH! People are annoying! I know I made the right decision I just needed to vent.

Hi all, I have a quick question. I got my surgery date today (WOOHOO!!!!) I have a vacation planned for after the surgery and we leave two days after my procedure. I have had my gallbladder out and had a c-section and was moving fine afterwards. My question is do you think I'll be ok for the trip? It is just to the beach and will be relaxing so I think I will be fine but I wanted opinions. Thanks so much!

Hi Everyone, I am new here and am going through the doctor and insurance requirenments before my surgery. I am super excited to start my new life! I have one small issue, my ex. We are in the process of trying to get back together and I don't know how to tell hime about this. I don't think he will be supportive and I don't know how that will affect me. I was wondering if anyone had some adivice on telling him. (small background: we have a 3 year old together and have dated since high school) I appreciate all of you help. The decision was easy, this isn't.
