I have been dealing with being overweight/obese for a very long time.  I had a tumor removed from my pituitary gland when I was 10, and ever since then I have struggled with my weight, usually gaining 10 lbs per year.  Now, I am 26, sick of my weight and ready to change.  I had my first visit with Dr Khaitan in Nov of 08.  I was very leary of the operation and wasnt sure if I wanted it, and eventually I chickened out.  I waited a little more than a year and decided to go back to her after doing a lot of thinking and research.  My surgery date is June 24, 2010.  I am very nervous about the surgery, since it is surgery, and because there will be a big change in my life.  I am going to be dedicated to my new way of life, and although I may slip up, I will not allow that to hold me back from my dream.  The one thing that I have been worried about is money.  The operation is $17,000 and I have to pay $7,000.  I have no idea where I am going to get $7,000 from, but my father is willing to lend me half.  I have been struggling financially this year, and I am probably going to have to put the rest on a credit card.  I just found out about the pricing today, and I wish my doctor's group would have warned me about the price before I got this far along.  That way I could have saved more and planned.  Anyway, I am very psyched about everything!
